"Don't need 'em. Bubbles are just for show," is such a great line. It explains why Glinda has so much faith in Oscar. She's a stage performer just like he is, and the Good Witch of the North persona is the character she puts on for the crowds. The dialogue even slips in casual slang - " 'em " - to make certain you notice that Glinda is getting real.

I notice how in the battle Glenda's crown and the conduit of her wand are never destroyed by Evanora's power. For me, they represent the truth of who Glinda is and how they can absorb Evanora's attacks. Evanora's necklace lacks the full power because they represent no truth of who Evanora really is. Evanora somehow figured out the power behind those green stones and used them as a conduit no matter how false. I think that is why she is so determined to find Glenda's wand in the poppy field scene. It is the genuine article. The necklace crumbles and is destroyed during the battle because they were never genuine to Evanora's evil soul.....great wisdom, I know. ;)

This scene could've been much more effective if it had a longer running time and a bit more action. I guess Raimi didn't want to put too much into it as to not draw attention away from the main climax namely the fireworks scene. This scene being more of a tying of a loose end. (while other people would probably argue that it's an entirely pointless scene) I have to admit that it's still pretty awesome.

TheBigT2000 Those familiar with magic lore know that it takes an incredible amount of concentration to wield it. Chaotic emotions during a magic fight like this would be disastrous for you. Losing focus would be to your detriment, and give your foe the upper hand. So while it would make for a more intense scene to have those chaotic emotions play out, lore wise, it wouldn't work. So for that reason, I like the authenticity of it.
