@@WeltSchmerz1349 Spielberg is executive producer for this. This is an Amblin movie for Universal Studios. Plus the director of "We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story was the cartoon storyboard artist for this with Casper and his uncles with the live action inputs.
@WeltSchmerz1349 90s truly was the height of cinema. Real camera reels, practical effects blemded perfectly with CGI touch ups, no streaming or same day video releases - you had to go to the cinema at midnight premieres or catch the early matinee the next day, and every scene was shot by a cinematographer, every prop bought or custom made... It was just a perfect time before GCI, digital cameras, and computers made it all feel cheap cause it was designed to be cheaper
Thank you RUclips algorithm. I loved this movie so much as a child and of course i had a crush on the "real boy"-Casper. I'm an adult now and i still hope for a magical moment like this in my life! So sweet.
Ped?
I think a lot of those kids knew about Casper , look at how they all stared at him as he walked towards Kat
They stared cause he was stunningly beautiful.
All the GIRLS were staring because he was very good looking as a human boy. LOL
I'm surprised not one of them notice them floating while dancing
In case you didn't notice it was specifically the girls staring at him.
0:41 it would be better, if he got to meet his dad
Do you think that Casper looks cool as a human?
Yes
Смотрела с детьми этот фильм раз сто. Чудесный, добрый, и не много грустный фильм. Браво актёрскому составу, а также всём кто принимал участие в создании этого шедевра. ❤❤❤❤❤❤Один из любимых фильмов.
“Cinderella wasn’t 12 years old” she’s 14 but she gets midnight??!!
Plus Casper gave up his one chance to be human again. What did Cinderella do?
@@brianbanville781 She didn't do anything as she was forced to become a servant like Casper sort of is with his Uncles who did not have to make him do those things
The living kids weren't putting their coats on and getting ready to leave for bed at 10, the party was still in full swing and obviously going to continue well past 10. It was downright cruel that Casper wasn't even allowed to be a real kid until the end of the party.
What Cat's mother did is enough, there are rules even in paranormal things and only God can allow angels to perform miracles, here Kat's mother is doing this on her own although that breaks the rules since reliving is prohibited. to the dead 😷
Casper's human form was my sexual awakening 😂
You posted that on here, on a page where little kids will frequent, and said "Yeah, I'm glad I wrote that."
Yeah ngl you could um maybe phrase that a little different? It's a bit weird when referencing a child actor at the time as well 😬
Casper is 12 years old. This is the minimum age of sexual consent. And the actor was 17 years old.
Well.. it is Devon Sawa after all. 😂
@@sg39ghow u are right, the actor was 17 in this! He looked way younger
The can I keep you line is beautiful and haunting. A ghost asking human can he keep her means…she was gonna die and go to ghost land with her. And both Casper form are adorable
This will always be one of my favorite movies. So well done, every bit of it.
I would never let kat sit there by herself
I always love to hell Caspar whispers to kat "can I keep you"
Casper is a good movie. I'm in My 50's and I still love watching IT.
I feel like we watched this in school but right as caspar changed our class was over so we didnt get to see that cute interaction. as an adult the line can i keep you had me awwing. soooo cute.
That scene at the end where he danced with her and kissed her was so heartrendingly sweet and touching It made me cry at how sad it was for both of them.
4:19 (whispering) This is the part where you run away.
The first childhood crush we never forget
This movie is based upon the classic cartoon series, Casper the Friendly Ghost. So, he's like an old friend who I could never be afraid of.
was in 2nd grade elementary when watched this, around 94-95 time flies so fast.
I was a kid when this movie came out and i had the biggest crush on casper 😂
I wish more movies could stick the landing and have an ending as heartfelt and memorable as this one. Anytime I see this on TV or online I just have to watch this ending again as the music, lighting, acting and special effects are brilliant. And that ending makes me shed a tear 😢 or too each time. Loved this film!
Spielberg makes masterpieces
I remember this movie, I was teenager when we watch this in cinema and I was crying half of the movie! And I will say again, Casper should stay longer 😔
I remember crying for this scene because there was also a song playing in the background. This is one of my favorite movies.
This is such a great scene!
I remember human Casper being my first crush. Couldn't stand boys before the movie. Thought they had cooties. Walked out of the movie with goo goo eyes. Damn, I feel old now lol.
I’m 26yrs old and I’m bawling my eyes out to this scene!! They really don’t make movies like this no more!
I've always loved the piano piece starting at 3:29
Heard it back then, and still hum or whistle it today
Capser should've been able to stay human at the end of this movie (I still love it though)
True!...but Casper was only 12 and Kat was 15 in the story, so it would have been awkward if they were a boyfriend and girlfriend couple. At least they got the chance to kiss.
@@rickylafleur5804 she was 13 it would've been a 1 year age gap but if he remained human that would've still ment he was like decades older with having died and becoming a ghost
Nobody:
Absolutely nobody:
Casper: can I keep you?
I always loved the soundtrack to this film
I cry at this scene every time I see it.
I wish that they had done a followup to this movie. It could've been interesting to see Casper and Kat going on another adventure. Maybe something like them trying to enter the spirit world or something like that.
Reminds a bit of that Halloween series of the classic cartoon 👻🎃 where Halloween party ends with the total panic escape, and Casp meets a new girlfriend who is spookie too 👻💞👻
I remember this scene so vividly, even 20 years later. It was just so exciting without being corny or overly dramatic. It was just sweet and a perfectly romantic way to end the movie.
i'm a straight guy...but I cry everytime with this scene...that song melts the heart.☺
What does that have to do with being a guy or being normal/straight?
@@TedEhioghae dont be that "dude", dude...
@@katsu_papiI just want to know why a straight man can't cry at a scene or feel emotional at a song?
@@TedEhioghae yeah, right😒...you know what you just did...don't rain on other man's parade, it's not nice..
Same here
Junior Floyd from the little giants!!! Unreal! Man the 90s just dominated everything in history. The 1990s were legendary!
4:24 That flip jump was awesome.
Absolutely love this movie. Great story and great actors too. It is, in my eyes as a Musician, one of the movies that the wonderful James Horner composed the music for, that is greatly underrated. Although l do say the Cinderella deal, always brings a smile.
This film was my childhood fave
This movie has everything, comedy drama even the chemistry with all the actors and actresses works
This is not a comedy film it's a family film
@ I never said this was a comedy film I said it has comedy in it as in something for everyone comedy, drama, and good chemistry
This scene was the cuteeeeeeestttttttt🥰🤗
Damn, that one last wish music really hits me in the feels even after nearly 30 years 😢 remember going to see this movie in Woodall Spa Kinima when i was 10 years old
There is one part of the film where Casper recalls his own death in such an innocence but sad way from the view of a child which makes the scene even more dark and heartbreaking 💔
What makes it even sadder is as they die and become ghosts there humanity slowly slips away and they start to forget there previous life or who they were and even the circumstances of their own death.
Chokes me up each time as it’s so sad but well acted and scripted. I really love ❤️ this film.
This was one of my daughter's fave movies back then.
It’s so funny, I watched this as a child and I always had the feeling like they were like 17-18 years old and when I watch it now as an adult they look like 10 year olds 😂
This is definitely not funny it's a good movie and it's a sad movie
@ what are you talking about? You clearly absolutely didn’t understand my comment
Loved this song so much that this was the last dance song at my high school prom. They had us vote a song and yes I voted quite a few times and had some of my friends voted as well. 😍. I will always remember this song and the movie and my prom 🥰☺️
I was a kid when this movie came out, I love this movie especially the BGm ❤
I was 13 when this came out... LOOOOOOOOVED This movie.. probably my favorite "Halloween" movie and Beetlejuice!
The movie of my Childhood 🥹 Yearbook 87' greetings!
As a little kid, when I saw human Casper for the first time, my eyes went: OOOOOHHH, AESTHETIC ✨PRETTY✨ BOY!
Casper: 😅 (innocently question) ...Boo?
Party Goers: (screams in horror)
Me: 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Casper looks like a young Cary Elwes. Handsome!!
One of the most wholesome movies that I watched growing up.. where did the time go..
There’s something special about this scene when Casper took her by the hand and they walked to the dance floor. I just love it. ❤
Damn, 90's Hollywood was so good back then..... 😍❤️
