I like to hit my grates with the pressure washer!!😂😂. I do all of my grills every time I get the pressure washer out! Soft cleaner is a nice touch. Never thought about cleaning the outside! Thank you!

My kind of cleaning method 👍🔥 I’ve been using a putty knife for years. Thanks for putting this out Susie 😊

i always found a brass bristled brush is great for a preclean on the grill grates and interior. wont hurt the steel and ya gonna wash the grates anyway!

I use a grinder cup wheel attached to my drill. Way easier than scrape, scrape, scrape....

I recently finished a complete restoration on both of my Weber Performers
They hadn’t been deep cleaned in years of heavy use
I used a window razor scraper…no scratches at all
The inside surfaces look factory new
I installed new food grate, charcoal grate and igniter in both of them
They both look like the day I bought them…shinny and clean

The best time to clean the grates is immediately after you take the food off the grill. I use a wooden paddle to scrape my enamel coated grates while they are still hot.

I never use a metal scraper on a Weber. I use plastic or wood to avoid scratching the enamel, which prevents rust. I love the Dawn Power Wash Though! Don't get it wet first and let it sit for a few minutes before scrubbing and hosing off.

I would suggest using a hard plastic putty knife/spreader instead of the metal one on the bowl and lid, (much kinder on the enamel) then spray with a mix of either lemon juice or vinegar with a bit of dish washing liquid , rub with a light foam scourer then rinse.

Ive got a large shallow plastic storage box that i use to soak my grates. Leave them to soak in hot water and a commercial detergent and clean them up just before i use them the next time.

I get a lot of hate for using a putty knife or a razor blade to clean out the grill. Still haven't scratched it. Great tips Susie!

The one part of the grill that heavy duty oven cleaner direction say can be used on is the grates (most of the BBQ is not approved). But if anyone does, use gloves because that stuff eats everything.

Just remind me that I haven’t cleaned out my charcoal grill in about 6 months now 😂 last time I actually just took a half basket of charcoal and burned off all the excessive grease and thenscraped it. I don’t know if it made a difference, but it seemed to work.

That’s how to do it, scraper - metal or plastic. I like to do the extra part, cleaner in bowl and flush with a Karcher

Closest I get to brand new clean is using easy off oven cleaner and soaking in a garbage bake in the sun. Even that leaves some creosote.

you should use plastic putty knifes they work great and they can conform to the shape of the grill

Do not ever put your grill grates into your dishwasher. I clogged up and completely ruined a dishwasher. And spent two days replacing not only the dishwasher but the drain line as well. !!!!

It's way easier to clean it like that, and I promise the finish on your kettle is tough enough to handle it.

Absolutely, completely, do not try this at home kids, 101!!!
Let's make this simple... Go to your kitchen, find the oven, look at the temp settings knob... It says "clean" = 700+°... Done!!!
You don't need a shop vac, steel wool, a special brush, micro fiber towels, nor a puddy knife, absolutely no dawn...
Step 1... Don't buy a grill with a chrome plated cooking service.
Step 2...It's called grilling. Let the grill do the work!
Step 3...Add a little extra charcoal for the heat/cleaning, on start-up... Just like the hot cycle on an unflavored propane grill.
Step 4... Take a big onion, and cut it in half. Swab the cooking grate with one half. Wait 5 minutes, and apply oil (whether it's lard, Tallow, vegetable, peanut, canola, etc) and cook the other half of the onion.. Game changer!
Step 5... Cook... At your leisure! Whether direct, indirect, or a combo...
Step 6... After food is removed, open the grill to allow all oxygen to incinerate the coals. They fall out like powder!
Step 7... Apply lard/ Tallow to the cooking grate.
Step 8... Well, we're ready for next weekend.🤙 Time for a refreshing beverage!🍻
PS: Mr "T" is a very lucky man! This woman is attractive enough, I believe she could sell ice to an Eskimo!!! Shop vac sales have never been so high for morons!
