Where the hell is all the grease and ash build up on the inside of that grill? Looks like they took a brand new kettle and lit a chimney full of kbb and let it burn out.
I use my BBQ more than once a summer and I love fatty meat. I want to know how to get rid of that caked on supernatural hardened grease without it taking all day. I’ve tried decorating degreaser, kitchen cleaner, washing liquid…
Absolute shit! I've had mine less than three months and use it at least four to five nights a week, this is what mine looked like after smoking a 3kg meatloaf. It's way worse than this example.
To clean you Weber kettle grill, take a metal brush and scratch the bloody hell out of your Weber kettle grill. When done, you will realize that you’ve just ruined your Weber kettle grill and the you’ll probably run to the store to buy another Weber kettle grill. We love selling Weber kettle grills.
Another way to remove the gunk without damaging or scratching any of the enamel is to use a Steamer with the scotch-Brite attachment, without almost any pressure the steam will melt\dissolve most of the gunk\grease within seconds and the Scotch-Brite helps with any stubborn gunk. You'll be done in half the time or faster using a steamer...
You tell everybody to use a stainless steel wire brush to clean the inside of the bowl and then to follow up with a non-abrasive sponge. What do you think a sponge is going to do to the surface that the stainless steel wire brush hasn’t already done? A stainless steel wire brush is gonna be way more abrasive than any sponge.
angel morales Does anyone else actually do that!!! The grill I just replaced was bought in 2009 and I have never cleaned it!!! Probably used the new one 10 times and haven't cleaned it!!! I do use aluminum foil on the grill so that helps, but cleaning it.... easier to buy a new one every 10 years!!!! Lol
Wow. Bet you do that with your car and house, too. Hope ya don't have kids (although you can save a fortune of college if you pitch them when they're 10!) SMH
Chris B Critter Nope, got 3 vehicles, ones 38 years old, ones 26 years old, and the family car is only 12 years old and they all look brand new inside and out!!!! No kids and I don’t see the comparison between a grill and cars and kids!!! But, to each their own!!! Have a good evening, sir!!!!
Local TV fix-it guy Gus Gnorski's method was on a hot day, put big sponge in pie pan, saturate with ammonia, put inside grill and place lid on. Cover grill with large black plastic garbage bag (to keep the fumes inside) and leave out in hot sun all day. At end of day, clean up with water hose and a brush. Works great.
wow this is a bit much. I live in Florid awhere our biggest concern is rust. Cleaning the grill is the easy part but, we use warm water with Dawn, a grill brush for the interior and a sponge on the enamel exterior. That's it. Scoop the ashes or dump them into a bin and we move on with life. This procedure is a bit over kill in my opinion. But hey, I'm not a pro.Our grill has lasted 5 or so yeaars and we use year around. I would appreciate some tips on rest proofing this thing though.
I purchased this EXACT same model, but the VIN sticker has been removed. I've been trying to figure out what model this unit is? Could you help me out with an answer? thanks so much!
@@sarahdawson975 If your grilling 2 or 3 days in a row, you can also try the Scrub Daddy grill brush. It's not as thorough, but it gets the grate decently cleaned quickly.
One that doesn't contain degreasing agents, such as glycol ethers (butoxyethanol, naphtha, hexane, tetrachloroethylene, etc.). Look for one with alcohol or ammonia, like typical Windex glass and surface cleaner.
All I do is occasionally scrape off the excess buildup with a plastic puddy knife. Any more cleaning than that and you’re removing the seasoning. The seasoning is protective against moisture and also makes the food taste better.
my dad had a weber charcoal grill that lasted for 40 years! out of the elements without a grill cover. Stainless steel grates (like they used to make) would be an inexpensive upgrade for the cheap crap Weber uses now. the coated steel grates corrode rapidly.
With a slop sink, your grill cleaning chore is practically done. When done cooking, I carry my Jumbo Joe to the basement & place newspapers on the floor near the slop sink. I use Windex window cleaner, Palmolive dish detergent, SOS or Brillo pads, a sponge and some clean rags. NO grill brush. SOS pads to clean the cooking & charcoal grate. Rinsing them off with a sponge. I use the dish detergent to remove grime from the interior & exterior of the Jumbo Joe. And Windex to give it some sheen.
Would it make sense to season the cooking grate with oil then bake it on like one would do with cast iron or carbon steel pans? I know there’s a nickel / chromium playing g but it seems to not be very nonstick. Thanks for any advice.
Hi Ken! Thanks for being a Weber fan! We do not recommend seasoning the grates. We recommend brushing a little olive oil on the food to prevent it from sticking. Hopefully this helps.
Kevin, how do I find a video on the one touch silver charcoal grill. I need to know how to use the ash catcher without dumping them on the ground. This is a great video by the way.
I came to see how to clean the outside. I would be ecstatic if, when I got done with mine, that it looked as good as this one was before he even did anything.
I bought a 70 Anniversary Webber Grill last year finally used it last night and today when I went to clean it the outside of bottom bowl had like a splatter look of oil around the handle area all around only on side can someone tell me how that would had happened oh I didn’t mention the Webber is Yellow!
Way too basic info my friend. I’ve had a few of these Weber kettle grills over many years. Most people don’t clean an already clean kettle. Doing what your doing with lots of buildup isn’t going to do much at all. Getting after it with a razor blade scraper after wetting it, and using some real elbow grease will get much better results. Thank you.
I was expecting how to clean and inspect the gas system. Went to grill last night, igniter failed, used a lighter, gas wasn't coming out or adjusting correctly. Aborted grilling. Didn't want to risk gas buildup, if any, as it wasn't working correctly.
Here's how to really do it. After 15 years of build-up, take a propane torch to it. Burn off what you can and call it good. BBQ's aren't meant to be shiny...
So, he used a steel brush first. Then he said, use a "non-abrasive" sponge after that?! Uhh did I miss something? Is that a magic non-abrasive steel brush?
Have to laugh my blades don't move anymore because of caked on ash and grease, granted I should've been more careful when cleaning the grill it is 7 years old and still in good condition except it needs deep cleaning this is not the video for me.
Stainless steel brushes are useless on these grates. Use a pumic stone. And why use a non-abrasive sponge after using that abrasive brush on the interior sides? What a joke, but I'm not laughing.
"Now if your grill looks like this" Dude, if my grill looked that good I wouldn't be watching this video.
😂 ikr

Because steel breaks up gunk but is not very good at wiping away.
Becouse using a steel brush leaves behind steel particles that contaminate the stainless steel.
Oh jeez. Next time actually show a dirty grill. That kettle looks barely used.
Eric Gass Looks like the new one I just bought !!!!!!
Probably because they keep it clean after each use

Fellow Wisconsinite! I remember Gus !
The beginning mentions a scouring pad but never used it. Are stainless steel scouring pads safe for the inside of the lid?
Yeah but wipe it down after to account for any misc. steel flakings.
is the stainless steel brush not bad for the finish of the grill?
How to remove the seasoning off your kettle. Brought to you by Weber
How to clean a never before used grill. Gotta go to someone like the bbq pit boys to learn how a pit master does it.
dropout0110 can you please elaborate?
@dropout0110 why would someone die by salmonella due to washing a grill?
I was thinking of spaying it with a degreaser & power washing the inside. The outside I could be gentle with.

I have an E5750 Master Touch. Where in the U.K. can I get a workstation like the one you’re using with your kettle here?
I purchased this EXACT same model, but the VIN sticker has been removed. I've been trying to figure out what model this unit is? Could you help me out with an answer? thanks so much!
I use de-greaser and an S.O.S pad for the grill, then wipe it down with a sponge and rinse it off. It takes me about 15 -20 minutes at most.
Degreaser seems like a smart way to do this!

One that doesn't contain degreasing agents, such as glycol ethers (butoxyethanol, naphtha, hexane, tetrachloroethylene, etc.). Look for one with alcohol or ammonia, like typical Windex glass and surface cleaner.
So it's okay to use ivory soap or dish washing liquid as soapy warm water?
All I do is occasionally scrape off the excess buildup with a plastic puddy knife. Any more cleaning than that and you’re removing the seasoning. The seasoning is protective against moisture and also makes the food taste better.
You just lazy quit justifying your laziness
The seasoning also keeps the heat in.
@@asaint its true, I clean my gas grill, but I never ever clean my charcoal weber.
Let the interior grease build up. That's just extra flavor
Nice grill for the price. The cover is very well made

Great video on how to clean a never used grill. Why would anyone think this is what we want to know?
Did i miss where he used the scouring pad?
Ya I was kinda curious about that myself...

He didn't. Tbh, the whole fgn video is just.. 🤯

No, the only approved grills on the premises are the ones provided in the common area.
