They do like 4 rush covers and Charlie from anthrax barely breaks a sweat and would make Neil proud. Some of his best work was during his time in Grip Inc. The sheer speed of "Hostage to Heaven" or the power grooves in "Myth or Man" would be great additions.

I live in Asheville, NC and work in a music shop called Skinny Beats. Dave came into the shop and played bunch of gongs and djembe. We talked about music, and it was awesome. He was in town with Testament, and hooked me up with backstage passes. I got to go backstage and meet the guys from Testament (Chuck, Alex, Steve Digiorgio, Dave Lombardo). It was one of the coolest days ever.

I got to clean his drum set in the late 80s while on tour with Motorhead / Overkill. I was working security, checking out his kit when a roadie walked up with rags to clean it. I asked if I could clean it and he said NO problem and handed me the rags lmao. It was an absolute honor. I briefly talked to him back stage. He was the most mellow dude ever, super nice guy just hanging out with his girl. The way Slayer did him rubs me wrong to this day.

I remember the first time I heard this dude. I was like, "There's no friggen way". I was thinking that they slowed the tape down while he recorded and then played it back at normal speed while they mixed it down. Because there is no way a person can play that fast and that explosive for that length of time.
Then I went to my first Slayer show in a little bar or something down in Houston. And I realized just how friggen wrong I was. Even today he's fast as hell. I'd be willing to bet that if he air drummed without a kit in front of him, you could probably hear his arms buzz. Like some huge fly buzzing around. But nope. It's Dave. Playing air drums. Buzzing like a herd of houseflies.
