What Webcam/DSLR Are you using in 2021?!?
I am just starting to recorded reviews on computer components and hands down the Sony is the obvious winner but for me, I do very little outside video or photo, so I would have to say the Avermedia PW 513 would work for me and I could save a few hundred dollars. I have a iPhone 12 pro that I have been using but even though it does a OK job it does have its limitations and I have a lot to learn as well. Anyway you are doing a great job and keep up the good work. PS I see someone was asking about Epoccam and it is a really nice program but I get lots of calls so that kind of puts a squash on it for me.

First, I love the channel. Keep up the great work. Second, I picked up the Avermedia 513 for Christmas and have been playing with it for the past week or so. I got it as an upgrade from my Logitech C930e. I mostly use webcams to record lectures for my college classes. I was trying to upgrade my image quality without having to dedicate my Lumix G7 for the setup. The G7 is notorious for bad auto focus in 4K mode, so the fixed focus Avermedia was an attraction for me. My streaming space is fairly small so I wanted as simple and as compact of a setup as possible. No large camera mount, camlink capture card, or external power cables for the G7 camera. Just plug in a high quality webcam in the USB port (with two blinding external lights) and go.
With that said, the Avermedia is a step up in clarity from my C930e but the colors are a blip to get right. The recent software and firmware update helped some (I noticed that you were on an earlier version), so I am hoping that future upgrades might fix some off the color issues. The C930e is far more accurate with color so I just snatched a Logitech Brio to test against it. Straight out of the box the Brio is also more accurate with color while lagging slightly behind the Avermedia with motion and clarity. The Brio by default seems better in low light performance. The Avermedia is much better with motion and image clarity, but it also comes in at a price of 50 - 70 bucks more at the time I am writing this. While the Avermedia software is trash, it holds promise with the EPTZ but it isn't ready right now. I am gonna play with it for another few days before deciding whether or not to keep the Brio and send the Avermedia back. Hell, I might send them both back and just hook up the Lumix G7 with my 24mm 1.7 prime lens. Ultimately I am still confused and will just have to stop being a wuss and make a decision.
It sounds like your a perfectionist.....I don’t blame you...we all want the best....and that’s what the lumix will provide In your case....with that being said I have faith in this avermedia and for me it’s better than the brio
Yeah, the Avermedia is better than the Brio overall. The color on the Brio is the only thing that is better. In every other category, with the exception of price, the Avermedia 513 is better. I hope that future firmware and software updates will improve the webcam even further.
You can fix that bug by setting the exposure yourself and them bumping up the gain. The issue is that when you first try to control the exposure, it goes so dark that the camera stutters. If you then play with the gain, you can fix it. If you manually set the exposure and gain yourself, the brightness slider becomes pretty much disabled (you can move it but nothing happens). If you set exposure to auto, playing with brightness then overrides exposure and gain settings. As for the two selectable cams, one gives you direct access to the camera, the other gives you access to the camera with all of the settings/filters/face tracking that are set in the cam software.
Tried that.....there has to be some interference with the software when multiple webcams are connected.....
@@DetroitFury ya I think the issue is when you use OBS to set the camera properties, its a type of default windows override and then you run into issues if multiple cams are running. I could be wrong.
@@DetroitFury After a lot of tinkering here is the current state of my quality with the 513 i.imgur.com/lBE5GKM.png. I brought the sharpness down on purpose because my followers have told me they prefer the smooth cinematic look on my face over the crisp sharpness that the 513 can do. I kinda do too lol.

your KIYO is bugged for sure. I used that for 6 months and it was an amazing 1080p cam but you need to set it properly and use lighting. If you dont use lighting, you need to turn on low light compensation.
I did that and it still acted funny....it doesn’t like when multiple webcams are plugged into the pc.....I reviewed it a year ago on the channel here snd didn’t have those issues
