Norzdomu likely kept the story (time vision) short as the fight against Galakrond and the aftermath takes a lot of time to see. Also, the Dracthyr are not in a good mood after hearing about Nelfarion's betrayal and being imprisoned for thousands of years in the Dragon Isle caverns. The Dracthyr already knows most of the dragons' history. Norzdomu is just retelling that story but with visual details to the Dracthyr general he meets.

Damn, there's just something nostalgic about watching Nobbel react to these types of official lore videos. Seeing him excited... It sure has been a while, hasn't it?
I love how Proto-Dragon Neltharion smashes out of Galikgron’s fangs when he tries to eat him xD really showed his physical strength as Black dragons were known for.
In the book dawn of the aspects, Malygos and Neltharian went inside Galakrond's mouth forcing a boulder down his throat and pretty sure that's how the got out, just smashing his teeth
I really like that if you pay attention to the cinematic, it shows the connection between Ysera and Alexstraza. Nozdormu and Ysera. And Malygos and Neltharion, who viewed each other as brothers... Which is why Neltharion's fall/betrayal hit Malygos so hard.
Well, at least they're together in death?
I didn't know there was even a connection between nozdormu and ysera besides sibling like relationship.
The things that makes me think most in the cinematic is where Noz pauses to say young, and where he says he was leader of the bronze flight. The latter one especially makes me feel that we are almost certain to have him become Murozond in Dragonflight.
i do believe he will be heavily involved in the story and in maybe a .2 patch he'll start going nuts when the Dracthyr aren't working out like he had hoped and will use the loyalty of the few to start his infinite dragonflight.
It all makes more sense if we assume it isn't actual time travel, but instead it is Nozdormu creating an illusion of his recollection of the past.
I thought that was self explanatory since they dint interact or were affected by what was going on....

Bronze dragon flight have always shown us time periods it’s always just been certain times. Just like with anything with chromies. Never been time travel

The only actual time travel that the bronze have done is with the demonsoul/dragonsoul right?

I do like the fact that Neltharion gets portrayed as uncorrupted like he's supposed to be. It's really cool to see how he actually looked before he became fully corrupted. I hope we'll see more about him in this series of videos they are releasing.
There is something so nostalgic seeing the five Dragon Aspects in their visage forms.
I sitll absolutely love the artstyle they use in these. This one was great, but I wanted more info too. I felt like this first one was almost more a teaser trailer for Dracthyr than it was a "warbringers" style animated short film. We'll see what the next ones bring though!
Galagrond is looking just like the Boss dragon from the first "How to train your dragon" movie :D

Just woke up, watched the short and less than 5min later, Nobbel puts up his video. Perfect timing.
It says alot for how much people respect Nobbel when (And there's no way I'm alone in this) I clicked the official video...saw this on the timeline and immediatley changed over to this one
its more that the algorithm showed just this video like it was for me --- totally forgot that the first cinematic must be out by now, and youtube recommended me this video, so i was "oh right, the cinematics!" .. for some reason youtube never shows me anything of the official channel despite being subscribed and ringed the bell

If people are confused about Tyr not being in this trailer, take into consideration that this is a Dragon’s POV and Blizz is real hot on viewpoints in lore these days

I have resigned to the fact, after watching this mini episode myself, that I think the shorts are more meant for the people who never read the books and no little to nothing about the Lore
The pause as he says prepare you for the...challenges that lie ahead. and then referring to himself as past tense aspect of bronze flight. I would say this is going to be an xpac about the infinite flight starting and having drakthyr pick sides.
Galakrond strikes me not as a creature of death and undeath, but as an abomination twisted by the influence of the Old Gods and the Void, much like Deathwing.
Could Galakrond be the Old Gods' first attempt at corrupting something like a dragon aspect -- like Neltharion/Deathwing? Galakrond consumes other dragons, much like the Void feeds upon itself. Galakrond is driven by an endless hunger, much like the Void. Yet Galakrond was not always evil and twisted, but suddenly became so. The parallels to Deathwing's corruption are hard to ignore.
You can see guys how Malygos and Neltharion and Ysera already died. I believe that Alexstrasza is the last one that keeps Nozdormu from fully falling into Murozond. And I believe that this expansion she will die and ultimately Nozdormu will "die" as well thus ending the five original Aspects.
So same ole blizzard just killing off every decent character 😂

They have already died in a sense they arnt aspects anymore. Also ysera is alive
@@Fyre19 qnd yet even by losing their aspect power they manage to do greater stuff than their dragonflight. What they gave up is so vague it can be anything. Immortality? well nozdormu was aware he was bound to die nor did much for prepair on the deathwing events even know he know how stuff go...
I love the dragon content. That little snuggle between ysera and nozdormu was the cutest thing. I wish they would do more little animated shorts to help progress storylines since they love to leave stuff out of the game itself. As much as I love to read I can't be bothered to not only seek out and buy their novels but I just don't want to read them lol.

These videos are short. To explain who Tyr was would probably take up too much of the run time.

@@KisiroKitsune - It really wouldn't. "The Titan keeper Tyr convinced his allies to grant us the powers of the Titans, thus we became the aspects". Show him battling Galakrond in one frame, and doing the empowering ritual in another. That would be enough.
Anyone notice Nozdormu's eyes are like inverted color-wise? It could be just now that he has white 'pupils' instead of just solid blue eyes like he normally does. But it just reminds me of Murozond's color.
yeah we will almost certainly see Nozdormu transition to Murozond in this expac IMO. that process could already be beginning.
I am so pumped to see the other Legacies stories. This one was great.
Well if all it took was 5 unpowered protodragons with a little bit of brain to take him down thats not saying very much for galakrond. Also salty Tyr was completely left out.

So good to see you back on the WoW content brother. After playing through beta 2 times i can say, that i find the Dragonflight story so far much more interesting than SL. Azure Span was fucking awesome

@@tristamfs3542 I've never liked that kind of argument. Don't put people down for making criticisms (even though Capy's criticism was terrible and not at all constructive) - if you disagree then counterargue, but don't pull the whole "then play another game" mindset. I definitely agree that the story is *much* better, but that doesn't mean there aren't still improvements to be made.

He did have a lump in his throat and the camera view of his open maw as he fell I think it was meant to reference how he died in the books
This fills me with the same hope i had at the beginning of shadowlands but lets hope the story winds up better this time around.
There is a lot of lore to come Nobbel and i can't wait to dive into your channel back again !

So Blizz was like "Naaah, we have Tyr's Hand, Tirisfal, Silver Hand etc." We don't need him in here :D What a shame, hoped to see him, but I guess they dont want to focus on Titans and the keepers...
Yseras nightmare ended up using the Nythendra model. I wondered if it was representing the plagued zombie drakes spewed out by Galakrond.
An interesting point that the "bad guys" always make the hero classes that turn against them. I wonder if as dracthyr, we meet our maker?
We worked alongside Arthas personally when he created the Death Knights.
We worked alongside Illidan personally when he created the Demon Hunters.
Maybe we will work alongside Neltharion personally at some point? I hope so!
Although the differences being:
We murdered Arthas and we had a better Lich King take his place, although now none at all.
We murdered Illidan (albeit not with our own demon hunters, unlike death knights did with The Lich King), but he had returned in the fel crystal and we had a more clear understanding of a bigger threat, so he worked alongside us and now is Sargeras' jailer.
We murdered Deathwing in Cataclysm (albeit not with our own evokers, like demon hunters) but the rest is unclear. It would be interesting to see it unfold.
I notice when they're about to charge Galakrond, their eyes glow gold. Like the Dracthyr when they were under the influence of titan magics.
I don't think them overcoming their instincts was entirely them doing it. I smell influence.
Something tells me this is the expansion nozdormu snaps, and he is preparing for it

I could be wrong. But I think in the book Nozdormu saves Ysera at one point. Throughout the book if you think about it he always shows up in time. Neltharion uses a stone “earth” to kill. Also I thought it was Neltharion transforming at first and then I realized he have to turn last because they mention all the other gifts while giving him his charge. 😊
I created 2 Dracthyr, I don't recall seeing Emberthal anywhere in the starter area. I didn't see her until I sent one of my Dracthyr to the Azure Span.
I loved the cinematic but the best part was seeing nobbel smile again and be excited by lore

I really wonder where the trend of people when timetraveling one person asking 'where are we' and another saying something along the lines of 'where are we? more like when are we!?!' started.

in Shadowlands Ysera also says: "I am bound to the Shadowlands since this is where I was rebirthed. I will stay here until you need me back on Azeroth." I find that interesting as well!

I don't know if its just me but the positions of their heads after the transformation caught my eye like deathwing looking to the side
All records of the black empire were wiped so im assuming the dracthyr had something to do with the black empire and along with all records anyone involved were also trapped in time also.
Scalecommander Emberthal (the Drakthyr in this video) is actually a very Anduin-y or Watson-y. Throughout Dragonflight, she is looking for their original purpose and Neltharion's true intentions. She is present during many mayor event in the expansions but doesn't actually do anything herself. I believe that blizzard is intending to have her go through a character-arc that lasts the entire expansion.
So glad to see Nobble excited hopefully this Mansion is good
Maybe Murozond do some time stuff of his and bring Galakrond to present or caused some timeline thing that he went and prevented Galakrond original fall and now big boy is about to nom nom us all
This whole Titan's gift looks like it was forced onto them. Since we don't see the Keepers here.. Although they have given their blessing in the book.
Just blizzard being blizz nowdays, they barely recall what they retconned or made back then.
Allready the fact of drakyr never show up even during the battle with deathwing or in the aspect of twilight book say a lot
@@alessandroseverino8222 The commanders talk about being in stasis for 20.000 years. So that’s way before the sundering. And those books take place after that. And somehow even Deathwing forgot about them, since he initially put them in stasis with the help of Malygos
What if the Cult in Dragonblight managed to resurrect Galagrond. After the Lich King was defeated nobody cared about Northend and they had all the time they needed.
The dragons at Wyrmrest keep watch over the bones. I believe they sent players there to begin with..?

I kinda worry that this is the standard template on how blizz wants the general fanbase to view this event. So they'll pretty write going forward from the events of these animatics while commiting some of the details from the original book.
Wouldn't be the first time they did so. With the jaina one they re contextualized on how we view daelin proudmoore into a full blown patriot. Although that's probably how kul tirans view it.

I mean in a world where time-travel happens, maybe he influenced stuff leading to banish this new race for some reason and now Nozdormu realised what happend and he is tryin to recorrect time with the limited abilities he got left?
I admit it's a bit funny that in the Dracthyr flashback, they have weapons. I really wish we got like poleaxe tank or dps spec for them to represent that side as well as just drakonids in general, but it seems if we want a new class we'll get max 2 specs for balance work reasons so can't be too mad.
Also they clearly want to hint that Nozdormu sees his end approaching.

Chapter one, introduction to the new race
I know that some of us think that this is the lore light version. But i have many friends who don't care about the games stories and who don't know who galakrond is. But they do watch pretty cutscenes. I think this is a well made primer for them which can be expanded with additional information during the expansion.
We had galakrond in hearthstone for a while.
pre-event is the 15th along with drac.
I feel like it would be epic to have Nozdormu turn into Murozond during the xpack, with one of his first acts pulling a living Galakrond from the past into the present to attack us.
I've never heard that Neltharion/Deathwing was already hearing the whispers of the Old Gods before empowerment. Is that from one of the newer chronicle volumes or did I just miss that part in Dawning of the Aspects?
I think it was mentioned in the Chronicles, I read Dawning of the Aspects too and I dont remember that part, too
It was mentioned at the end of Dawning. Tyr was explaining that he was going to empower the 5 and when it was DW's turn,he was staring off into the distance, distracted,like he was listening to something/someone
It's a newer addition, yes. Most likely the Chronicle, and seemingly added for no real reason as it doesn't affect his story.

The initial sound/score & all was fantastic. However, it's peculiar during one of the scenes that depict the reflection from her eyes the Visage & silhouette of Neltharion, except it's almost as if he's walking away or being dismissive. I'd like to see them provide some context for that in another video or something. Because it's unusual for the creator of such beings /experiments to walk away in that fashion (it betrays the idea of investment & energy into something, to simply walk away). If that makes sense..
What was up with the suspiciously long pause before he said the world was 'Young'? For dramatic effect do we think or is there a whole age we don't know about do we think?
Thinking it's because Azeroth is a living being, so they wanted to stress "young" for the double entendre

I watched the video without subtitles and didn't know who the black dragon was, and I thought Nozdormu was doing some time travel shenanigans with Sinestra in some past time.
Wouldn't have been that off-brand for the bronze dragonflight to bring something back from the past (the Demon/Dragon Soul from the Well of Eternity dungeon as an example)
Dunno if Nobbel caught it or not, but at 11:50 that's Deathwing in visage form's outline in the smoke

Yes they were all once aspects but remember in Cataclysm they lost their powers and with that they also lost their aspect abilities
When Nozdormu said "Those who THOUGHT, SPOKE and FELT more deeply than the rest" just made me think of Hydaelyn saying "Hear, feel, think"
Hydaelyn is just Super HItler who slaughtered a whole planet and raped the souls of the slaughtered for a completely retarded plan that made no sense.

I recently got Beta access, and have been trying out Dracthyr. I didn't really plan to start playing again, but, I'm not gonna lie, it's actually pretty fun

Doesn’t the general in the beginning look a lot like Nelfarion? The shadow of the general looks a lot like the “shadow” of nelfarions human form seen after they become aspects
I don't know if it's related but Deathwing's visage looks a bit like that shadow you see when look at what Ember remembers. I wonder if they're relating deathwing's actions to what happened on the dragon isles
So...I never noticed, Nozdormu and Ysera was a thing then?

I really like how this was told from Nosdormu’s perspective, and that of his kind rather than from the Titans or Titan Keepers. There has been so much told from their side that, it’s refreshing to see things from what were basically the primitive precursors to dragons on Azeroth. Also like how Galakrond got nailed between the eyes, hit just in the right spot falling thunderously. Like the battle between Goliath and David, even a seemingly unstoppable colossus can go down if hit in the right spot. Just find it happening that way more satisfying than “he chocked on a boulder and died.” They won by working together, just like how the players work together to slay literal gods and world enders. Lastly, that moment between Nosdormu and Ysera was touching as heck, really liked that bit a lot.
Nobble is finally back to WoW content, finally the world is in balance once more.
Is the time related with the light magic? I mean i know its sand but it glows like the light itself.
Weird and very big translation error, in german Nozdormu says that he "IS" the aspects of the bronze dragonflight.
Why are the Dracthyr's only visage a human form? Surely that wouldn't sit well if you were Horde?
