In his new film Fisherman's Friend, which is based on the true story of a group of village fisherman finding fame through their love of sea shanties, James Purefoy reveals that not everyone had the stomach for the choppy sea scenes. One of the sound technicians was incredibly unwell on the boat, but James says she was very tactical. A lot of the rehearsals and scenes were shot in pubs, which James was perfectly comfortable with, saying that other countries just don't understand the British pub.

I've always thought that there was a missed opportunity with James Purefoy playing James Bond. I think he would have made for an awesome 007 because he has the charisma and presence, and as he shows here he's very charming.

Delightful interview .. James Purefoy always gives great interviews ,, and this is one of the best .. the interviewer was excellent .. she talked pleasantly with James ., not at him ., both seemed at ease in each other's company ., and seemed to be friends having a lovely chat .. so beautiful to see ..
Do not see many making comments about James Purefoy's extraordinarily beautiful hands .. they are exquisite .. strong ., wellformed .. long slim fingers ., the hands of a true artist .. which, of course, he is ..and he uses those hands so effectively .,
James Purefoy is an awesomely beautiful man .. strong and gentle .. kind and courageous ., certainly a guy you would love to call friend ..
Btw .. James Purefoy is brilliant in Fisherman's Friends .. his voice is amazing ., suits him perfectly .. so pleasant to listen to ., so beautiful James is .. he will break your heart .. over and over again❣

Yeah, he strikes me as very down-to-earth and normal. No pretensions about him whatsoever.

Dear James Purefoy I love pubs here in Fresno we have one called boggs pub wanted to go there for my birthday but my husband said there's nothing around except maybe supermarket show the last I gave up for Spicy J's.

We need to just say all this weirdness was not valid so we can all move on and be a family. I will always love and have respect for you and all we have been through with everything. This life has been so long and time is crazy but we are not. We all need closure and to both start living for REAL. Not closure as in never see our family again but closure on this strange experience for sure. I think you prob get it, much love and respect.

hahahaha! I was just thinking that, it popped into my head and wanted to see an interview. I actually met James in Cornwall, England in a quiet pub and sat and talked to him about his role in HBO rome.
Very pleasant bloke, enthusiastic and very friendly. Glad to have a story to tell about how I sat, talked and drank with him!
