I think James is being a bit humble - yes Kevin has had a bigger career, but James is a pucker actor.
A bit surprised about Kevin though - he seems more serious than I would have thought.
I love James's analysis of the anatomy of a serial killer. Seems like a very sane bloke.

James is way too humble - he made that TV series successful by creating and portraying one of the most layered characters ever in TV history - you want to hate him but you finding yourself rooting for him over and over again specially when he 'had a hard day'. James outsmarted and outperformed the very flat Kevin Bacon (I usually like him a lot).
Yes I agree - Kevin Bacon is usually brilliant but James out-acted him by a country mile on this show.
I was thinking that, too. James is the best actor on the show in my opinion.
Purefoy was brilliant on this show, but Purefoy also had to dig deeper into his role to portray a convincing serial killer.
Delightful interview .. admit I watched this because James Purefoy was in it .. have admired him for years ..
James has such charisma and is such a sweet guy .. and his voice is magnetic and silky smooth .. plus his mannerisms and gentle way of conducting himself just pulls you in .. could watch and listen to him talk forever ..
These two actors were mutually respectful of each other .,which made the interview interesting and fun to watch .. and James made some excellent points about his character Joe .. he is very intelligent and understands his character completely.. this chameleonic ability he has makes him a brilliant actor indeed ..
Killing off the character of Joe was a serious mistake., the show was not the same without him .. that is just the magic of James Purefoy shining through ,. He is perfect..
Btw .. watching this was lovely .. James Purefoy is truly brilliant actor .. and a way beyond beautiful man as well ,,❣

I would agree but it was with just 5 episodes to go, so it wasn't to bad. had it been renewed for a season 4 though then yeah maybe, but also would be unrealistic if he escaped a 3rd time ya know, one of my fav shows ever though.

James Purefoy is quintessential and totally brilliant actor who can play ANY role.. and make you love him.. and that voice of his just melts you.. and the way he moves snd uses his hands.. also he is a master swordsman who does 95 percent of his stunts.. and if that is not enough .. he is way beyond beautiful .. a total alpha male.. to me, James is masculine perfection 🌹

How is it awkward watching two real life actors talking about the fictional characters they play on TV? Only awkward if you don't know how to separate fiction from reality, and even then, it's not awkward. Smh

These guys are so awesome in this show and all other works they have done. I love watching them on screen in the show and wish that they would step it up with Ryan using the smarts that helped him capture Joe. I just think they haven't really shown that very well. Regardless, Bacon and Purefoy just shine so well in this show. Purefoy is beautifully twisted, evil and manipulative. They have a Lector/Graham, Holmes/Moriarty thing going that I want them to exploit and develop more in the show.
