THIS IS IT!!! Finally a very detailed breakdown, step by step, highlighting the 'little things' that make all the difference...Personally, I've been training wall to air dribbles and have struggled with control coming off the wall. I will be uploading a video on my progress highlighting the tips from here that really helped me. This is a GAME CHANGING tutorial, thank you, Thano!!! Aim small, miss small amirite?
I learned to air dribble from Thanovics original tutorials. It's really cool to see all these years later he's giving a more educated, intuitive tutorial with an updated perspective that reflects his advance in skill! Good stuff dude!
I loved your old tutorials, they propelled me from g2 to d1. From there, I did some neon heights, and learned to aerial pretty well. I'm currently sitting around 1000mmr, mostly playing casual. My next step was exactly this, and you hit all the nails directly on the head! I did my first PROPER aerial dribble in 3 tries. This video is gonna make me a champ next season, cheers dude! You are amazing, keep up the good work, you have a unique way of making videos and it's gonna make you go where you want it to.
Hey Thanovic, this is a very high quality video, easy to understand and easy to go through! That said, flip resets are probably the best mechanic between a comp player and freestyler and for some reason I can't get the hang of how to setup the ball for it and how to follow it up after you hit one, so I would love a video about that on your series. Great video once again!
I would say the setup between the air dribble and the flip reset are very different for one specific thing (at least for me). You have to give yourself and the ball a bit of space before you jump from the wall in a flip reset. In an air dribble, you don’t do that, you go straight at it for the first touch. May not sound different but trust me, it helps a lot.
@@CasualRUclipsCommenter you’re right. when i started braking after hitting the ball, it really helped out my flip resets. instead of hitting the ball w no boost for control, i think it’s best to boost into it kinda like a ceiling shot.

Great video! I just sent it to a friend that is trying to learn air dribbles. It took me a while to learn how to keep the ball close in the air, but like you said matching the speed of the ball is the key. If you can match the speed of the ball during your setup, it makes it so much easier to do the same while in the air.
Loved the format and the content in this tutorial! I'd love to see one for (aerial) musty flicks. I've been working on them off and on and can't seem to get it consistent. I think it could encompass a few variations like off the side wall or after getting a reset from both the ceiling and the ball. I know that that is chaining a few things together, so maybe after you go through a standard ceiling shot and standard flip reset tutorial you can expand on them by teaching how to chain multiple aerial mechanics together.
Am gc and the tip u gave to make sure not to boost just before you make contact with the ball has helped me out so much, now currently about to hit gc2
Thank you Thanovic. Your old air roll tutorial helped me master directional air roll, now im very comfortable in the air going up for aerials. Thanks for teaching me everything i know
You should do a video on aerial first touches. More specifically on plays where the ball is a bit further away and you want get a soft controlled touch to maintain close position in order to follow up with reset, air dribble, 50 etc. I find these touches more difficult than the air dribble setups covered in this video.
I want to learn air dribbling and air usage on defense, as soon as possible, I currently seat around gold 2-plat 3 ranks, and I don't want to go too high so I struggle against others because they know how to air dribble. I think my rotations are pretty decent and I'm quite patient, i know when to fall back, get boost etc and solid in 1v1s (plat 3), and 2v2s (gold 1-2). I'm only struggling the air control and how to master the air, I will definitely learn how to air dribble before trying out to save an air shot. Thanks for the video.
just keep doing it everyday for as long as u can, ive started out using a training pack given by wayton, it helped alot for me to get used to be on the wall which im still un used too hence im plat 2 but whenever i have a good amount of boost and a perfect set up in game or in training i can hit a decent air dribble

thanovic i love you, the letting go of boost part was the only thing stopping me from getting good at airdribbles, cause i never knew that was my mistake
I didn't learn that much since I'm pretty good at air dribbles, but I appreciate this video in particular the "stop boosting before first touch" tip is super helpful and I wish someone told me that like a year ago lol (btw this tip is also good for almost Every controlled touch you want to make in the air). It's crazy to me that when I first watched your videos I was like gold/plat and now I'm GC2 almost 1 and half yrs later.
Hi thano, I discovered your content recently and have been on a binge! I hope you are doing well mentally and making sure to keep yourself healthy, hydrated, and happy :)
Just want to share something that was make or break for me. After practicing the run up getting the ball to roll up at the same speed, to the same height (first half hexagon on the wall); consistently, on the wall was night and day. Just by carrying it, letting off and watching it roll up Allowed me to get a good hit every time which allowed me to stay close and gave me more time close to the ball which allowed feathering of boost to get soft touches, really just put it together.
I remember when I first started air dribbling back in the spring. After months of improvement, I can air dribble from anywhere on the field and your old videos helped a lot 🙏🏾 my favorite shot rn to do is a bounce off of the ground into an air dribble and then a double tap to finish it. thanovic i love you, the letting go of boost part was the only thing stopping me from getting good at airdribbles, cause i never knew that was my mistake
ahhh hopefully it helps out now!
I am literally SSL but i love revisiting these mechanics especially from your perspective
Thank you, hope you have been enjoying the vids!!
hitting the ball at the peak or before it falls was my weakness, once i focused on that my training felt so much better thanks
Assuming there’s going to be some more advanced mechanics and even some dribble/flicks so keen to see some in depth ones from your perspective👍
Thank you so much, I just realized that I don't need to boost at first touch. I am much more consistent now!
I watched this video about 2 months ago and im now hitting double flip resets. Thanks man!😃
What tank r u

Just want to share something that was make or break for me. After practicing the run up getting the ball to roll up at the same speed, to the same height (first half hexagon on the wall); consistently, on the wall was night and day. Just by carrying it, letting off and watching it roll up Allowed me to get a good hit every time which allowed me to stay close and gave me more time close to the ball which allowed feathering of boost to get soft touches, really just put it together.
I wish I watched this before I learned, I would’ve got it so much quicker. I love your vids thanovic. Great content.
I haven't seen the video yet, but I already dropped a like, you never make bad content!
I air roll the same was as you. I agree with everything you said. Reset Musty next, you know you want to.
I remember when I first started air dribbling back in the spring. After months of improvement, I can air dribble from anywhere on the field and your old videos helped a lot 🙏🏾 my favorite shot rn to do is a bounce off of the ground into an air dribble and then a double tap to finish it. What are your guys favorite variation of an air dribble to do?
Air dribble to reset is one of my favorites but off wall air dribble into a double is always a good option to beat 2 defenders :)
@@EluSivEPrOdiGy1 Niccee! The air dribble into a reset is sumn I'm working on too, ain't perfect rn 😅 but I see progress. Good luck to you in getting crazy man! Kill it 💪🏾
Dribble to air dribble to reset is my favorite
I have watched the old ones - which were great - and I will watch the new ones too! Looking forward to it
Hope you like the new ones sir!

This tutorial is insane. Good editing as always :)
Flicks as a whole especially types of flicks and how to perform them and how you explain them, btw I was already pretty good at air dribbles but this vid made my whole understanding of the mechanic a lot better!
yep flicks are def on the list
Ty for making these videos all my diamond lobbies are people who only know how to air dribble without anyone in net so ive been getting some easy games
I love that you do more tutorials. It will be really helpful.
This tutorial was so helpful to me, as I was better at airdribbles when I was in Gold (now D3). This video helped me figure out what I was doing wrong.
Shout out to Tornado for the amazing editing
im c1 and ive been really struggling with the first touch. i tried your method with tornado spin and now i get a decent touch 9 out of 10 times thanks
Thanks for this masterpiece! I found my own problem and now i am getting better at it.
Thanovic! You're back my guy. Thanks for the tutorial. Hey uhhh, SEND IT
Yessir!

Yeah it helped me out alot as well!
In the next tutorial can you teach me how to get a girlfriend?
i need that too😅
thanks for the tips cause i never knew hitting the ball with the middle car was relevant but its rlly effective so thx :)
I know everybody has done this style of video, but from YOUR opinion, a tierlist on all mechanics would be pretty cool, based on whatever honestly (importance, flashiness, difficulty, personal preference, or all of that put together) :)
Yeah I was thinking about something like that honestly
Been looking for this mate, great video
this showed me what i doing wrong i would hold my bost and hit it so hard while im in the air i wouldchase after it every time. THIS HELPED ME ALOT TY
Glad it could help!
Thanks for the tutorial I'm already improving with my air dribbles. Now it is time to be consistent with it
good luck with the progress!
I’m learning to air dribble just after this video I hit a clean air dribble but I still need to practice thank you
Super helpful tip on letting off of boost before the first touch in the air, makes perfect physical sense, thanks!
lets goo a new how to series
could you do something on consistency/shots please :)
For you lazy ones out there:
0:00 intro
0:32 the setup
1:30 first contact
2:13 first touch
3:55 first contact in air
6:03 control
9:02 outro
You missed the practice, practice, practice bit somewhere..
i was gold and i wasnt good until i watched this man and now im plat 3 thanks for the good tutorial:)
Yes!!! Thank you, this is what we all needed!
I've learned more from this one video than from my multiple years of playing and never getting better.

Noti or chance?
Hey @Thanovic, this was a great video/tutorial! I've enjoyed following your content and learning a lot from you channel. That said, if you plan to do a video on air roll, I would very much like a chance to speak with you. I know this is an odd way of doing this but I've started doing something in just the past week that not only sent my air roll/car control to a whole other level, but also jumped an entire rank in one week with it. It something I haven't seen anyone talk about, that I've seen and as far as drills go, its been the single biggest contributor to my success. If you have a chance, I'd love just 5 minutes of your time to share. I'm only a C1 but I can't stress enough how far my game has come in just 1 week. Thank you again as always and I look forward to more on this series!
feel free to dm me and send examples if you want dude!
@@Thanovic How would you prefer those DM, my good sir? Discord, Twitter, Insta?
@@Thanovic I sent you a DM on twitter with a video. Hope it reaches you.
Fantastically detailed and explained👏🏾👏🏾
such a good video, especially when you said let go of boost on the first touch
