The update came out about 10 days ago and many motherboard manufacturers had bios updates out within a few days for microcode 0x129, which should fix the elevated voltage issue. I updated mine yesterday. Another separate issue was fixed in the previous update as well. However, this voltage has caused persistent damage, slowly over time. This update will NOT reverse the existing damage that has been done to CPUs, it will only prevent future damage. If your CPU is crashing because of this issue, the damage is already beyond repair, and you will need to replace your CPU. Intel has extended their warranty for chips that have been affected.
how does that make sense? if people already purchased a new cpu and had this issue why would they put them on sale after its already been purchased? this would only be good for people who are not yet customers of newer gen cpus lol

And when the patch does come out mid-august, you most likely will have to update your motherboard bios to get it fixed if your p.C.Is already having problems with 13th 14 Gen.Crashing it is already too late. Little capacitors that are on the chip are broken Only thing you can do if it's not crashing already Is undervolt your CPU before it's too late. Maybe 1.4 volts
The microcode update didn't fix it. I still have the same issue. The issue is that they physically can't fix overvolting and killing the diodes. They just need to make better chips that can handle that voltage. The reason they don't do this is because they don't want to recall 50 million cpus.

This patch will only prevent further damage to the CPU if you already have errors it's because your CPU suffered permanent damage from high voltage or oxidation.
Interesting PR coming from you. Just "figured it out" huh? Or did they just decide to come clean? I think it's more the latter, less the former.
And you mean they addressed it by "figuring out the cause"? Nope. To address it, replace all of your defective CPU's, for FREE.
Imagine buying an intel cpu in 2024
The mobos weren’t running to much voltage they didn’t have enough jayztwocents explains this but they are still unstable. It won’t fix it…

So that's why my PC blue-screens while I had "Game Boost" turned on in the BIOS of my MSI motherboard.
Well, I knew 1.2v was good enough for me, so I turned "Game Boost" off once I realized it was pushing higher volts.
Hopefully they don't push the fix on a Friday. We all know what happened the last time. Give the IT guys a break, they ain't ready for a second sprint.
So basically, they're undervolting the CPUs
What kinds of issues are people having? I’ve had a 13700k for 6 months and have not had any issues
