Why play Gran Turismo 7 in 2023? Because you can no longer play GT Sport; Gran Turismo 7 is GT Sport 2.0 more than a sequel, but they took the original GT Sport offline for Gran Turismo 7. Even the custom-made offline VR mode UI for GT Sport & the crucial missing data is completely unchanged in Gran Turismo 7 *in spite of having VR races online.* It's a great game, but it's in essence GT Sport 2.0 because GT Sport doesn't exist anymore.
I would rather dive into a pit of lamprey eels than pay for this game again. The only reason i still play it over free racing sims available on psn is because i paid so damn much for it. I replied to someone wondering if they should buy it with a non exhaustive list of grievances I have with the game. Anyone who hasnt bought this game should watch rofflewaffles video essays before wasting your money. It is a waste of money to be polite. To say im mad doesn't begin to cover it.
@@archangelq721as someone who hasn't played since gt4 prologue, no. It's a dumpster fire to be polite. The cpu racers stick to a rigid line and can cause you to lose 'clean race bonus' (an extra 50% credits) through no fault of your own. Cpu racers are on a rubber band system where the further you are behind the slower they go and vice versa. The car selection leaves much to be desired (why is there a prius?!?) There's 3 different versions of the 86, 5 if you include gr3 and grB. Many of your favourites are just omitted altogether. The credits you receive are woefully low compared to the price of some vehicles, there's a huge absence of endurance races, and the ones that are present (mostly) have ridiculous tire wear and fuel consumption. Weather can appear out of nowhere even if you check the weather forecast zoomed out to the max and you see no rain coming the track can be undrivable by lap two on racing tyres. Night will come super fast, day one 2 minute lap, night the next 2 minute lap. It's perpetually online so forget racing offline with cars from your garage. Pit stops can take up to 30 seconds before you even pull into your crew, but the pit lanes just aren't that long even going 60kph (30mph) The story mode is very hand holdy and can actually be skipped altogether by doing licences and circuit experiences. I suggest watching rofflewaffle's video essays as he's objective and spells everything out in more detail. My rating is one star, would not buy if I had have known what it would be like.
Im still dissapointed about gt7 its no way near driving simulation. Its basic just a arcade game. To bad but thats reality about gt7. They need some giant changes to call them self driving simulation. Thats my opinion.
Bad opinion. GT7 is not arcade😂, Need for speed unbound is arcade. For a new beginner GT7 is punishing but it will reward you also. I never tried sim racing I bought ACC first ever sim racer I’ve played it was very punishing I heard of GT7 so I tried that it actually taught me how to race, now I can play ACC or any sim racer. Need for speed will NEVER teach you how to sim race😂😂

I guess it's fun learning sim rigs and that but it's just a challenge to overcome 😜 and learn it to perfection whit simrig.😀 And tracks 😅 I'm slowest to learn tracks 😂
I agree with @tgreg9542 - GT7 is a Simcade, it is all designed to be a racing simulator, but it is more accessible to new and experienced players. You may not like it, but saying it's not a simulation driving game is a mistake. If you say that Assetto Corsa and iRacing are better than Gran Turismo 7, I might even agree.
