I'm almost 50 and have been Sim racing for a long time. It all started with a madcatz on a PS1 then evolved into PC racing with live for speed onto Rfactor, iRacing and AC/ACC. But I always had a console and a PC.
I currently have two rigs one with a DD1 podium for PS5 and one with a simucube v2 sport for PC.
Since PSVR2 I haven't turned my PC on (although I neeed to try the ACC patch) I love gt7 and VR they just nailed the feel of VR, be it in sport or ai I'm just driving VR on gt7.
On a side note I always play multiplatform games like the F1 series on ps5, just because it's easy. Download, plug in wheel and go, no fluffing around with drivers and crap.

The VR2 is the single best investment I've had (if I don't count buying my first G29 wheel). The immersion, for me, goes beyond the advances I felt from G29 to Fanatec DD. I'm convinced that if a flatscreen GT7 player tried it out they would go and buy one.

To get rid of that annoying sportsmanship video in Sport, just let it play once in its entirety rather than close it. Once it’s been watched it won’t return.
Have to add that PSVR is a game changer on this. I’m NOT a serious racing game fan, I like Mario Kart. But GT in VR has me hooked and changed my gaming life. Im now almost 300 hours in since PSVR2 launch, have invested in a basic wheel pedals rig, but now looking to get a DD wheel and load cell kit. I’ve never been invested so much in a game to actually invest big money in the experience. But PSVR has done that - yes the VR and the wheel set up costs a hefty amount but for me, nothing has matched that feeling of immersion - I’m not a racer but I FEEL like a racer, VR makes that

    • @supercededman
      @supercededman Год назад +1

Rob, I get you. I'm 62, having taken up simracing 3 years ago. Whilst I started with a G29 and progressed to a DD Pro 8nm with LC, and bought a rig, the VR has been the biggest jump for me. I've fallen back in love with the game.
Yes, game. I enjoy the whole of it, not just the multiplayer. The VR cafe, OMG. If you had told me I would spend many hours just sitting in the many cars I have, I would have laughed at you. Before VR2 I had given up on multiplayer, but now, perhaps it has given me a renewed sense of joy, for the total immersion.
I've demo'd the headset to three friends recently, forewarning them that no words could prepare them for the experience of VR with GT7. Later, they all agreed. I love this thing.

    • @roblatter3347

@@supercededman - spot on. It’s great hearing others having such good experiences . I really wish VR would go fully mainstream because it’s staggering to me we’ve come this far since the days of space invaders. To actually FEEL like you’re doing what the game is showing you, to almost smell the rain as it thunders down on the windscreen during the night phase of Spa 24hr, to turn off the HUD on an open cockpit vehicle and just be happy gazing up at the sky as you carry out lap after lap…. It’s just beyond compare. I agree with you in that ALL of the game is better as a result. The license tests, the showroom, everything is just elevated by the VR. I’ll never get to drive a McLaren F1 around LeMans in the same way I’ll never get to be a spiky blue hedgehog running through a chemical plant, but my god this game feels like the closest real life representation of a sport/activity I’ve ever played.

I have both PS4 Pro and PS5. Whilst not as good, the PS4 is still quite serviceable.

Is the AI any good? The AI in older gt is crap, the main reason I dont like gt very much. I know there's online, but I dont want to play online. The game can have the most beautiful graphics ever, but if the AI is bad it's worthless for me. That's why I keep playing older racing games like Gtr 2.

Look as a sim racer GT7 is a great game but as a Gran Turismo game its not that good.

Load times? Not for me, perhaps your internet is slow? I have a Gigabit through a fiber optic line which I thought everyone had, since I live in Ukraine I thought we were behind everyone else. Apparently not. Load times for me are almost imperceptible. My issue with GT 7 is the useless menu book system and the fact you had to progress through them to unlock many things. Unlike the License system which used to be almost necessary to progress, now it is just something to do. The expensive car dealership is useless as almost all the cars are not only expensive but not really useable in game.

It's not its awful. Its very unrealistic and the cars slide around everywhere like they're not attached to the ground. Really bad game that has fooled so many into thinking it's a good racing game.

No! The single player and the AI involved makes this game a shambolic and 'dodgems'-like racer. Anyone worth their salt will know that the AI is an absolute insult to the player, in this game!
It's made even more apparent when racing the Super Formula cars.
Clean Race bonus? No chance! Not when the AI is constantly tagging your back end, driving into you and basically hampering and impeding your progress in the race.
I have put in 1012hrs in this game and l can literally see the nuts and bolts of it's workings.
You can be sure also, that Sony and PD are still safeguarding it's micro-transactions...which has basically ruined the whole fucking concept of this game! Think about it!
Also, the content in this game is woefully coma-inducing. Tacked on cheap and nasty races coming from updates, it lacks proper championships and meaningful race events with cars that can be run to their full ability. Where are the GT3 Championships utilising all tracks, where are the Super Formula Championships utilising all tracks, where are the Gr.1 Championships etc.
PD are lazy! They cannot be bothered with fixing the AI and dialling out it's awful behaviour...you think they scripted it's behaviour by accident? Think again!
For a 25th Anniversary game it doesn't even come close to being celebrated in any way that is meaningful.
One year on and the game is still looking and feeling like a dead fucking horse, that is being whipped with a tissue!
    The game is a scam!
