I’m always looking for the realistic No hesi servers cruising on the Tokyo expressway with road cars.
Goodwood is a firm favorite on my stream. Funnily enough, we are doing numerous races there tonight (including three championship races) and I just can't wait to get back on that track
Every weekend I search lobbies of Tokyo Expressway East Counterclockwise that say: car show, winner pick cat.. we drive up to the hairpin, judge our cars, then the winner pick a new category and we go again, or cruise lobbies are hella great as well where we take a full lobby and night drive the nurburgring with flames shooting out of our streetcars. Doing all these livery work and cruises makes you really really appreciate the cars and especially the details in the models.
I drive a lot of cars in GT7 just for no reason other than I got the itch. A lot of muscle cars just to feel them going into corners and listen to those V8's roar. One of my favorite old racers is the CLK LM '98 what a monster, love hearing that engine and exhaust note. It barely beats out the Sauber C9 due to better gearbox for crisp shifts and less turbo lag. Nothing beats the rumble of V8's shootings into your ears. I wish PD would get the E60 M5, something about that V10 makes you want to push it, it sounds unique to most V10 engines. I've been doing GT drives since forever, but it really became a thing in GT5 time of day changes and Nurburgring Nordshleife addition, take some old school car and start at midnight and drive until dawn breaks. That was something to behold back on PS3.
Great content Rory. To drive with no HUD is a great experience, driving around tracks, listening the engine sound, the gearbox working, etc. GT7 is really a true masterpiece.
In addition to driving the cars I also LOVE sitting back and just looking at them in the garage and Scapes. The car detail in the game is incredible. Some of the cars in the game are absolutely beautiful. Polyphony Digital knocked it out of the park with this game!!!
i figured i had the most fun on the game not racing but just driving in the night or the rain in the 1st person view without all the infos on the sceen. doing so is just so good to clear your mind
What a great video. Goosebumps the entire time. I have been playing GT since GT2 and that has always been the best part just being able to drive either your dream car or that exotic you only see on TV. THANK YOU for bringing me back to the roots of why we do this.
Maybe one day, the technology will be there to link a GT7 successor to Google maps - imagine "I'm just off for a drive dear, Stelvio pass then a pose around Monaco......"
Couldn't agree more. I just raced the WTC 800 at the Nurburing and watch a lap on reply with surround sound, never realised the bass from the dance music was picked up when you drive past certain parts of the crowd with the smoke from their fires blowing across the track. I love finding the new things and little touches like that. Mental 😱🤯
"........It has a 6.2 liter SUPERCHARGED V8...........God Bless America!" LOL REALLY enjoyed the run with the Mazda 787P. My first brand-new car was a Mazda Rotary - a 1974 RX-4 sedan. Got a RX-4 wagon a bit later, as well. Good memories.

Rory is a very smart content creator. He understands his audience and makes videos that are engaging as a result. This is definitely a step in the right direction for the Channel. Great job sir!
I've recently been doing this as well. I think it's what the game excels at. Most of the time we're just stuck behind the Grp. 3/4. cars for the daily races and we miss out on the incredible models in the game. If there ever was a 'correct' list of best sounding cars in the game, I think you nailed it, try Zonda R and some of the classic v8s (chevelle, camaro etc.)
Yeah... love to go for a drive too. The ultimate for me as a GT1-7 customer would be for PD to introduce an open world drive (with light traffic) in cities and the countryside. Cheers, dd
This has always been one of my favourite things to do in all Gran Turismo games. I particularly enjoy the Ford GT Race car (gt3) for the sound it makes. The noise it makes in the VR replays is insane. When the camera switches to a far away position you can hear this thing echo like crazy in PSVR2
Rory its nice to see a video like this about GT7.. I have a lot of the same feelings and am glad I'm not alone. Its easy to focus on the negatives in online races, but at any moment, you can have your own little escape. Enjoy the drive.
I often throw my PSVR2 on and just hop in a car to go for a drive, often at the Nordschleife - its one of my favourite ways to unwind after a long day! Shelby Cobra, Porsche 911 GT3 RS, '98 WRX STI, Ford GT40, are among my go-to drives!
My favourite thing to do in GT6 was to just drive, drive and drive around Circuito de la Sierra in a powerful RWD car. Endless amounts of fun around that beautiful 27 km long track.
My copy of GT7 should arrive tomorrow, meanwhile I'm watching some videos, mainly from your channel and I gotta agree. My favorite part about GT always has been just taking my favorite car/track combo and going on time trial to chill
This is my favourite part of Gran Turismo tbh, more so than sport mode. I love taking the AE86 around Tokyo at night, taking the Renault 5 Turbo around Alsace, the R32 around Fuji, the Countach around Monza. The iconic cars and iconic tracks are what make this game special. Sport mode enrages me lol
This has always been my style in Gran Turismo - finding combos of track, car, and tuning that let me just drive and vibe. My current obsession is the K-swapped Abarth 595 SS. If you set it up very conservatively, it becomes a shockingly predictable little rocketship. Drives like a 60's race car, sliding around and waiting for an overcorrection. Or put the Moon Tune in it and do power wheelies at 180mph. That and the LFA-swapped Alphard are good for hours of "this is the stupidest car in the world and I love it so so much" entertainment. Give it a whirl.
That new video is an absolute vibe. I’m in between calls & just watched it. It’s amazing how something thought provoking just makes me want to get some random cars on track. Something I never do anymore, just jump into daily’s. A nostalgic trip in that video Rory that’ll hit many I’m sure. Certified Banger. 👊🏻👏🏻🍍
Just driving or comparing lap times between cars on trial mountain is what i usually do when i go for the daily marathon. On occasion i do custom races using garage cars that perhaps replicate races from older GT titles. Ultra speed cup from GT 1, choose high speed ring and top tuned 90s cars to race against. PS : We should have 3 marathon rewards daily, one for the usual distance, one for 80 miles and one at perhaps 200 miles. 80 miles giving a higher chance of 5 star ticket and the 200 miles being a guaranteed 5 star or above.
The Murciélago is my favourite car of all time. such a beautiful piece of automotive craftsmanship. very closely followed by the Huracan and the ferrari F430
Oh man! It’s just amazing how much joy you can bring with this video, Rory! Being very honest, I wish PD hire you to do this sort of videos for the Cafe Menus cars presentation. Amazing work, mate!
Cool Video Rory. I totally agree! My favorite car to just drive was the first one I bought as soon as I had the credits: Camaro ZL1 1LE. A monster of a car that sounds beautiful and handles any track you put it on with ease. God Bless America Indeed!!
In GT5 days it kinda worked because there were unlimited course maker layouts but today, it's just driving around XXX-wide race tracks. GT should include not only tracks, but 'driving environments'.
I rarely comment to the videos on RUclips however, I would like to thank you Rory for this beautiful video. This idea of just pure driving in GT7 w/o competition was in my head for the past couple of months which I couldn’t have any time to do so. I was so happy once I saw the video title and the watched it with a smile from the beginning to the end. Also, the commentary was bliss.
Hi Rory. This vid popped up in my feed and can honestly say that it has breathed life back into GT7 (for me). I dont think I can go back as playing the game like this is epic.
I when I bought my PSVR2 headset (a week after buying my PS5 and sim kit) the first thing I did was drive the Ferrari 512BB in a race at Goodwood: Looking around the cockpit at 'my' open gated manual 70s Ferrari, and then dicing with Shelby Cobras & Daytonas, NSX-R, McLaren 12C. Real goosebumps moments at high speed with a Lamborghini Miura one side and a DeTomaso Mangusta the other side. Highly recommended.
I love just driving in GT7! I put over 2500 kms on a Porsche Cayman GT4 in time trial alone on the Nordschleife. I love that car so much, not too fast for my limited capabilities and fast enough to have so much fun.
@Rory please, please ! Stock AC Cobra, Nordschleife. Cockpit Cam, BUT most important: Cockpit settings "Type 2" where the Cam is connected to the Helmet not the car. One of the Best experience in the Game.
What a great video man, this is definitely something we are all guilty of forgetting about. GT7 is an amazing game to take a car and as you said, just drive. I do this with a few tracks and my R34 because its probably the closest ill get to owning one, mainly because I can't stop crashing on them😂 but yeah this is fun🤙
I'm a sucker for a pretty face, and GT7 really is a beautiful game. Looks great, sounds great, nice physics, VR, pretty good DD FFB.. I'm glad it exists. ✌
I’ve won at Le Mans so many times with the 787B in GT Sport. Even when the fuel multiplier was a compromising difference. I found a way to win or make a Top 5 finish. Even though I may haven’t won with it yet on GT7 l. It’s still one of my a absolute favorite cars. Just screaming down the straight always over 200+ mph.
Good video Rory, I think I am like you, I just like driving all the cars that I managed to get gifted or buy, on race tracks as fast as I can. It was never really about racing other people or AI just about the cars and driving them and having the chance to do it in a simulation when I’m never going to get a chance in real life.👍🏽
This is what I do most of the time, I don't do the sport stuff or competition, I just test drive all the cars on all the tracks... So many combinations...
The last time I played Gran Turismo was the 4th one on PS2. That game took over my summer vacation haha. It was so chill and therapeutic, but also a nasty grind. Last night after a couple beers and a good incoming paycheck, I snagged the base version for $30 on my PS4. Gonna have a beer again and play it today. I'm so excited.
In usually make a point of doing the weekly challenge races in VR with no Hub, and use the shifter for cars with shifters, to get the full appreciation of this game. It really is a master piece.
Rory, I agree with all! But it’s missing the Aston Martin Valkyrie that is my favorite to just drive it! Psvr2 makes all this cars more fun to drive it!
That was whole life with GT3 :D With testing minute engine or aero tweaks with jdm tuned stuff for hours :D Still like to just take the favs for a spin on my own in GT7 :) Love the slower stuff like Miatas, MR2s and such, but supercars are great as well 🤌🏻
I love taking my tuned Focus RS for drives. It's my favorite car in the game. Letting off the gas and hearing the engine gurgle, the blowoff valves, etc.. I feel like the conductor of my personal symphony.
One of your best videos. Driving on GT7 for pure enjoyment is way more thrilling than racing. I rarely race online (truth is I'm not very good at racing anyway, so I just load up the Nurburgring and cruise with the volume on max!!)
i'm pretty sure that you are aware but try this with vr. before using vr, i was not really fond of legend cars, some road cars...etc but vr changed this crazily. for example driving that ruf ctr3 is such a fun!
I don't even race in GT7, I'm in the Nurburgring paddock (when it's not broken) and run maxed out corvettes and vipers with others, we just go around the track as fast as we can in 1000hp corvettes cruising hard, drifting, freestyle chill zone driving. Love it. Barely do any racing at all b
Absolutely agree. GT7 could dump sport and the other "organized" online races. Some will miss them, but the players that I hang with won't miss any of it. We mostly just enjoy tuning, comparing and trading tunes and running the cars
You gotta try the Ford GT LM spec II Test car. The sound and feeling of the shifting with an butt kicker type setup while in VR is something else you feel those shifts like nothing else. P.S great to see you just enjoying the cars and bringing you genuine happiness 😁
This is how i played this gem of a game for the most part of 800+hrs. Pick 3 fitting cars each day and make my own menu. Get to know each one, pick a favorite, tune, do some time trials and races & have fun. Rinse & Repeat. There are still like ~50 cars i'd like to try.
I've been doing this in GT5 and GT6 for over a decade. Just driving and driving and driving. I've spent so much time in the Nordschleife, with all kinds of cars. GT5 is specially good with the 125cc kart in custom tracks. I imagine the experience in GT7 might be considerably better. They improved car sounds a lot after GT Sport.
3 cars every update may not be a lot but 3 cars in this much detail is actually a heck of a lot and is building the roster steadily with a keen eye do quality over quantity
Pretty relaxing video to watch and I bet it was wayyy more relaxing to record hahaah. I enjoy this game a lot! Actually I enjoy all the GT games and I still play some old ones.

Hi Rory. This vid popped up in my feed and can honestly say that it has breathed life back into GT7 (for me). I dont think I can go back as playing the game like this is epic.
You'll appreciate driving old cars at Goodwood. Like the Renault R8 Gordini, just floats through the corners
Yeah, there is something special about sliding around on that track in those old classics, especially '65 Mini for me.
I love cruising in convertibles with the in-car view. Shelby Cobra around Grand Valley is right up there for me.
The Porsche GT3 RS is my favourite road car in the game as it’s just so good to drive.
The old Alfa Romeo pebble beach car is insanely loud I love the ear piercing sound
Just screaming down the straight always over 200+ mph.
imagine if polyphony decides to add a driving dlc where they add a bunch of driving roads live costal, and mountain ones.
Literally all I do now with this game, custom races with any car that I find interesting, the vibes are immaculate
Your passion for driving really comes across in this excellent video. Thanks so much for making it Rory. All the best Sir.
This video is a hymn to cars and a huge compliment for gt7. This shows the love of details they put into this title..... Great
Good video Rory, I think I am like you, I just like driving all the cars that I managed to get gifted or buy, on race tracks as fast as I can.
💯 with you on the Mazda. The car gods will be happy with this vid. Now I see where all your in game credits went. Good job Mr A.
Looks true to life at the start of the video.
That was whole life with GT3 :D With testing minute engine or aero tweaks with jdm tuned stuff for hours :D
Still like to just take the favs for a spin on my own in GT7 :)
Love the slower stuff like Miatas, MR2s and such, but supercars are great as well 🤌🏻
I love taking my tuned Focus RS for drives.
This game is unbelievable in VR. A childhood‘s dream come true.
The only thing I would love for gt7 to change is the payout on the online daily races.
I don't even race in GT7, I'm in the Nurburgring paddock (when it's not broken) and run maxed out corvettes and vipers with others, we just go around the track as fast as we can in 1000hp corvettes cruising hard, drifting, freestyle chill zone driving. Love it. Barely do any racing at all b
i wish there were more road courses in this game. i feel like if polyphony would make an open world driving game, they would excel at it
I found your channel today and subscribed to it today 👍
Absolutely agree. GT7 could dump sport and the other "organized" online races. Some will miss them, but the players that I hang with won't miss any of it. We mostly just enjoy tuning, comparing and trading tunes and running the cars
You gotta try the Ford GT LM spec II Test car.
The sound and feeling of the shifting with an butt kicker type setup while in VR is something else you feel those shifts like nothing else.
P.S great to see you just enjoying the cars and bringing you genuine happiness 😁
Aventador tuned up to the max for dragon trail seaside is a blissful yet tameable beast. Wish I could share my tuning with you.
Exactly lots of varieties of cars. It’s all about the stock cars
I would have loved to see you enjoy some of the older skylines and even the R34 Rory. I hope there will be more of these.
Comforting to see some one that is actually good at this still goes off in the same places I do :) cool vid, going to do some of this now. 👍✌️
Nothing like the sound of a four rotor revving. Got to hear one in person at a Seven Stock.
Best SURPRISING car sounds to me:
VW Bettle Gr3(?) comes in white or blue.
Looks okay-ish, but SOUNDS SUPERB!
Love the new style of videos Rory! Def a step up!
I'm glad you're appreciating the extra effort 🙏
They really nailed the sounds. When i drove the R92CP i was in awe. GT7 is a masterpiece.
3 cars every update may not be a lot but 3 cars in this much detail is actually a heck of a lot and is building the roster steadily with a keen eye do quality over quantity
Great video mate. There are some cars you just drive and then some car you really drive.
I’ve had so much fun just joining multi player lobbies and just cruise, countless hours and builds it’s recently I’ve been Racing in competitive Sport
Pretty relaxing video to watch and I bet it was wayyy more relaxing to record hahaah.
I enjoy this game a lot! Actually I enjoy all the GT games and I still play some old ones.
I agree , the game is awesome
I had a fantastic time driving a DB5 around tonight. A classic on a twisty track is a joy to be had.
I think this video may be a future classic on your channel. Lovely content 💯
