Guys.. you can debate on how it looks whatever you want (stunning imo) But lets face it.. whats better than starting of with a Honda civic at the Sunday cup..and race you ass off just to get that open-air filter to get you that 4hp extra and win another race. Thinking bout the next car you're gonna purchase etc.. Its about the GT experience, and thats whats back with GT7, for 110%. Everything around it aswell. True car enthousiasts will enjoy a lot, but also newcomers will enter a world of information en knowhow of the car world. history, brands, evolution etc. GT7 is a masterpiece.
I knew this game was going to be good but glad to see the positive reception across the board. I know a lot of people like them but I'll be turning off the racing line and braking aids immediately as they seem a but obnoxious and take me out of the game. Regardless tho I can't wait for this Friday!
Exactly, racing line takes A LOT away from the drive experience. Of course it is ok to use it until you're familiar with a track. No racing line gives you a very clear view of the road and surface which makes the whole experience better.
Driving any racing game I disable all aids except for abs wich will be low and because real cars have abs , racingline does more damage than it actually helps. One of the ways to be faster is to learn the track with no racing line, racing line just distracts you from what you should be actually looking for, breaking pionts and apex and where you are on the track. That way you can decide where to overtake and not just ram or dive bomb. Sure no traction control can be tricky on some cars mainly rear wheel but that's part of getting good and controlling more. On gt sport I was so much faster than alot of racers because I didn't have any racing aids on and using manual gears is the best in everyway you can control a corner well if you're in the right gear, rotate the car faster and control any over/understeer but if you're in the right gear on the right line hitting the apex at the right piont you won't have to worry about steering..... See you boys on track 🤙
The difference and best reason they're there is depth perception in a game vs real life just isn't the same when you're approaching a corner at 100mph.

Gran Turismo 1 and 2 are some of my favorite racing games of all time. I can still remember playing the first game as a rental on the ps1 I bought from a friend at school for 60 bucks in the 8th grade. I was hooked and played it regularly for several months. Then the amazing PS2 Gran Turismo came out and me and an old friend played it head to head constantly almost every weekend also for several months. So many awesome replays and just an overall amazing experience as two young overly energized teenagers. It made me love cars and as a 38 year old man now with a Dodge Challenger, I still love cars and cant wait to relive my Junior High and early High School days with this game. Downloading right now on PS5. Awesome to see this franchise still thriving and creating new fans!

I expected a 10/10 i mean I'm a proper Xbox guy through and through, but after the State of Play I set up stock alerts for ps5 and purchased my PS5 within a week. Roll on tomorrow
Microtransactions, game is severely gimped without online connection - you can play a simple race and thats it. Skybox and weather is great but looks like an upscaled low res texture, very blurry.
Care to do an update since the game you glowingly reviewed is not the game consumers are getting? I would think you'd be pissed about being used to commit a fraud. I know I would be.
I really love how this guy is misleading the people to believe that you don't need an internet connection to enjoy its "single player" components, like GT Cafe or the Campaign itself....

4:25 To be honest, this review seems very biased. The AI in GT7 is not smart. It's better than it has been in previous GT games, but it is decades behind other racing games.
they need to make the main campaign Off-line, the whole games as a service model is only going to kill the game over time. plus once servers go down many years later, you won't even be able to play it.
Can you guys please update your review to include the game AS IT CURRENTLY IS? You guy reviewed the version that let you play offline and didn’t have these insane microtransactions. You should also update your online posted score as well, if you feel it should change.
Everything that's been posted about the quality and realism of GT7 is absolutely true. My only gripe is the game doesn't really tell you up front how many hoops you have to jump through before you can drive any serious cars. Not knowing this going in, I expected to choose a car from a vast selection and just jump right in. It's not that I don't enjoy the different achievement levels to accrue upgrades but I find myself yearning for just driving.
This looks and sounds like the greatest racing game made ever made. There's so much to play at the moment. 3 fantastic titles released in 3 weeks 🤷🏻♂️ 😏
It doesn’t really it’s just a progression of GT sport engine with similar limitations in quality. Tracks look plain, frame rate issues in the rain at times and the whole presentation has a cartoon like look to it that doesn’t quite work. Not blaming the PS5 but opting for multi gen results in obvious issues. However poor framerate on PS5 down to the 40’s on. 60 fps game without VRR to fall back on needs some serious adjustments to put it right. I like the paint aspect and I’m not blaming the artists at all but it just doesn’t work properly in this engine. There is a disconnect between the environments and the cars that makes it look weird. The environments look like a model set and the cars look closer to realistic so that discrepancy is just weird. The graphics also tend to flicker A bit much at times perhaps down to the use of TAA which doesn’t work all that well on all objects. It’s better than GT sport but it doesn’t look next level or anything like that. Maybe if they did what Digital Foundry suggested and added a lower res performance game play mode with raytracing it would look better. Hopefully it comes to PC sooner rather than later so they can clear up these issues. IGN gave it a 9 which seems closer to what it deserves as it’s certainly not 10 as there are just too many flaws to the presentation from low res reflections in the car to half rate reflections from cockpit mode it’s all just a bit too distracting.
I’m personally tired of online only or online needed games. Money racket to make a great game and then force people into the next game.. plus when they don’t have mods the game never last anyway as the years go by..
"GT Sports was an online only title"...well, so is GT7!!! The fact that you need an internet connection JUST to be able to save your progress, that's a Live Service game for you!!

I've always repeated it over the years, the full fledged GT numbered series is worth waiting for. Not to make this a console war or franchise war, but I'm sure we'll get 3 more Forza motorsports "sims" in the next few years before Gran Turismo 8, and those games will be filled with more Glitz, Glamour, Make-Up, Fast and Furious, TikTok vibes because that's what they think the audience wants (and maybe the younger audience does) but for me, GT7 is proof that it takes a lot of time to produce something with this much craft, care, and content. I'll be playing this game literally for the next few years, and can't wait to see what the community does with it. Edit: Before the MS fanboys come in and jump on me, I've been playing Forza Horizon 5 and enjoy the hell out of that game on my PC, and that game has the glitz and glamour that matches with the intended product and does it extremely well.
i wanted so much to love Forza, so i bought a Drive Hub to use my G27 wheel on XB1/PS4. Motorsport is fine, but the Horizon games feel really bad with a wheel... thank goodness this came out on PS4!

My first GT game was GT2. Finally got my PS5 this weekend and all I can say is GT7 blows me away. The GT series has always been more than a racing game, it's about the culture, passion, and history of cars. Guys.. you can debate on how it looks whatever you want (stunning imo) But lets face it.. whats better than starting of with a Honda civic at the Sunday cup..and race you ass off just to get that open-air filter to get you that 4hp extra and win another race.

My countdown clock reaches zero after 6 hours. Not long to go now.
I managed to secure a PS5 a couple weeks ago and got a steering wheel setup purely for this, I can’t wait.

The sound in the old Gran Turismo games was dominated by the transmission, after upgrading to straight cut gears. That was very realistic, but less enjoyable. It’s also why all cars ended up sounding the same.
I'm curious to know how online lobbys are going to be, hopefully they bring back the ability for in game chat via microphone like they had in gt5, always liked to talk to other people in the lobbies, ill be playing the campaign and probably stay away from sport mode. I just hope we can have lobbys using our own tunning. In GT6 i used to play with a bunch of ppl from a facebook group and we select a category we would be racing, like only '70 normal cars in x track.

@@drewywgx924 GT Sport was great so that's not a bad thing. I just hope there isn't those ridiculous online trophies needing 300 odd wins 🤞🏻
@@Bombichote1 Is Grid Legends good then?
