    Guys I made a mistake and I'm sorry 🤦🏾‍♀️ Please see the description as I was misinformed about pregnancy being a treatment option & I wanted to apologize for using exclusive language. I've added links the the most accurate and credible information I could find online and I appreciate you all being patient with me, I'm not perfect (especially when it comes to speaking) and I just wanted to share my experience. Thanks for understanding!

      When I first was diagnosed I was told the endo would go away after I had a baby, soooo “have a baby” was part of the treatment plan.
      Times have changed so much since then (2002), I’m not surprised that people still come across that advice.
      Your video is full of self love ideas and it’s wonderful as far as I’m concerned 🌸🙏💞

Now I am 3rd-year endo free [confirmed by a doctor] living a life with no pain, no bloating, and no cramps. Girls-never give up, fight for your life and your future. My friend had endo and she had a surgery to separate the lesions from her intestines, went on the anti inflammatory diet too, along with, destressing, healing crystals, possitive thoughts by her and her loved ones, and when she stopped "trying" to get pregnant and just had fun with her partner, she was able to bring a miracle baby into the world! 🙂 The diet also helped reduce pain from her rheumatoid arthritis. Honestly, I think every woman can benefit from that diet, I think it would help to regulate cycles and reduce PMS symptoms, especially when you combine it with reducing stress

    Hi Janell, I remember my doula mentioning vaginal steaming when preparing for childbirth (water only in that case and only in the end) . And about the TMI, I love how natural and free you are talking about your body, historically women have always shared health information in order to stay well and pass it on to their children. You are very refreshing for me on RUclips, so thanks. Also, I'm a Naturopath and I appriciated the spiritual - emotional aspect you talked about.

    • @JanellKristina
      @JanellKristina  6 лет назад +3

      I'd never heard that it was safe for soon to birth mothers, but I also skipped over a good bit of that information since it wasn't relevant for me at this point in my life lol. That's awesome that it can help! Talking about these things is actually really uncomfortable and putting out for the world wide web to see is worse but I'm hoping it helps someone

      @@JanellKristina Women talking about this stuff is not only helpful , It's revolutionary in the sense of taking control back over our bodies and health. I don't have endometriosis, but I'm so glad you did a video on this. I know it's probably going to help a lot of folks who have endo or are just prone to having bad cramps. I used to have pretty bad cramps and transitioning to a vegan/plat-based diet (I was a vegetarian before) worked WONDERS. I also want to suggest consuming blackstrap molasses to help with cramps! I put a teaspoon in my tea daily right before my period starts and throughout my cycle.

    Vaginal steaming is a very very old practice and part of various traditional medicine systems. For example it is a big part of postpartum care in Thai traditional medicine. It has been interesting to watch it become adopted in the west and see how people are experiencing it and presenting it to others here.

      My GP who recently retired was a real champion for me when I had an accident and had unexplained severe wrist pain. Some doctors and surgeons told me it was growing pains as I was 17. I ended up crying on the phone to my GP outside of a hospital after a surgeon told me that. My GP promised to keep referring me to different people until we got an answer. Well I ended up being referred for treatment to a surgeon who immediately realised this was a big problem and he booked me an appointment in a clinic with a specialist hand surgeon who diagnosed me by shaking my hand. He knew instantly what my injury was. Sadly I had lots of surgeries but couldn't be fixed but the point is I kept on and on until I had a diagnosis. If you know something is not right with your body you keep telling them until they find that one person who can tell you what is wrong and why it is hurting. Sometimes doctors say these flippant things like it's psychological to cover up the fact they don't know what is wrong or it is out of their area of expertise. I hope you get your answer soon and that there is something they can do. xx

      Hopefully all goes well with you! Some doctors r so stupid. With my old GP, anything that my family or I came to her with was always met with "it's probably just a cold" or "if it persists, come back and see me" (I already let it persist for 3 months before seeing her so I wasn't about to do that). So we stopped going to her and went to walk-in clinics or googled things instead and found out that "just colds" were strep throat and the persistent inflammation was polycystic breast disease (super common, yet she had no idea) caused by hormonal imbalance. You definitely need a new GP if you can find one

    My last period started at 3am while I was out at the club, it was so bad that I didnt even care that I was lying in one of the stalls, on the dirty wet floor fro 10mins. So I totally understand your pain. I took so many different painkillers until I tried anti-inflammatory ones and finally got better but when it wears off...OMG!!! Thanks for this video, I've seen this vag steaming everywhere but Im gonna finally try it now cos I think you're a trustworthy person.

    Awesome vlog. Thanks for sharing because I almost ordered some vaginal tea for steaming, but I have an IUD to control my endometriosis pain......so I guess I’ll wait until I have it removed in May of this year.
    Last, very interesting you didn’t have to take nutrition as a required class with a nursing degree. The college I attended made Nutrition classes a requirement for those of us majoring in education/teaching. 😊

    I can identify a little with this. I have polycystic ovaries, apparently it is common with bipolars so my psychiatrist requested I had the internal scan when I was in my early 20s. I’m not sure if it's the medicine that causes the polycystic ovaries as a different doctor once commented about a drug that I was on not being good for pre-menopausal women because it can cause PCOS. Anyway my GP thought it was a bit odd but agreed to do the scan and to his surprise I had "a bunch of grapes either side" his exact words. I’m on powerful medication for pain because of a very severe injury to my right wrist that has necessitated 7 surgeries. Anyway I assume this is why when a cyst bursts I don't end up in hospital as I see some people do. It is agony though for 24 - 36 hours, my GP says that is because it is roughly how long it takes for the fluid to be re-absorbed and the fluid really irritates until the body has mopped it up. It's annoying because you have no warning of when it will happen, the last one burst just over a week ago, you know exactly what it is because there isn't another pain like it and it is so low down as well. It also caused fertility problems, weight problems. It's just a general nightmare. As for vaginal steaming when Goop published an article on it doctors in the UK, male and female, were asked to comment and they were all really anti so I thought it was a bad thing. I think maybe because Goop focused on it as cleansing and the vagina is self cleansing. They said it could upset the natural bacteria in the vagina and cause problems. So I thought I was against it, but the way you describe it makes sense. You're using the herbs and warmth to help a muscle relax and we do that to the rest of our body if we're injured. I’m going to read up on this more, as you obviously haven't come to any harm as suggested by the doctors over here. Today I am off to the bank to change my surname back to the one I use here which is my maiden name. After an awful divorce which my ex has dragged out for an eternity by disappearing (I couldn't sell the marital home, had to let it be repossessed and ended up homeless last year) I feel the need to reclaim myself as a woman with my own birth name, not someone else's.

      Shendi Sackett Shendi Sackett I agree that the vagina does not need to be cleansed, it feels more like using a heating pad on the inside for me. I read up on a lot of anti steaming information but decided I wanted to try it anyways

    Hi, I was recently diagnose with Endometriosis.
    I kept getting the pain for years, it's so excruciating, thought was appendicitis or something else. Difficulty passing water and doing the mumber 2, I feel cork like I can't even pass gas, menstruation cramps 😢😢😢sometimes vomiting and nausea also it feels like my bones and joints are on fire sometimes. After doing numerous ultrasounds and still nothing was seen....I saw my Gynecologist then she confirmed it.
    I am not sure what I can eat
    Like oats, corn flour etc.
    It's really frightening !!!!

    Menstrual cup is one of the cause of endometriosis. I just got diagnosed and I read some research where they say that the blood collected in the cup can move up and cause retrogate menstruation which in turn causes endometriosis.Though you're immune system should take care of the spiled blood but for some reason sometimes it doesnt and it ends up in endometriosis. I've been using menstrual cup for past 1.5 years only. Before that I Never had a an issue with my pelvic floor ever. You might want to reconsider the menstrual cup option.

    Caution this is TMI as well 😀
    I also suspect having this condition as I have the worst pain during the first two days of my period. I need to take pain killers in time or otherwise I will puke and won't be able to keep anything down. But for me going to the toilet actually helps with the pain for some reason and taking baths helps as well. I can't sit or stand straight and need to be in fetus position the whole time.
    I have never met anyone who has such horrible periods as I do so this video was really helpful! I am going to try out the steaming but I also have a doctors appointment soon. Although I have had those symptoms for more than ten years and nothing has ever helped or was diagnosed... are there any other tips? I hate taking medication and never ever do it besides from that.

    When you say painful bowel movements do you mean like it hurts when the stool comes out or it hurts in your ovary area during a bowel movement? 2-3 days before I start my period I wake up dying in pain during a bowel movement. But all the pain is in my ovary area. I get drenched in sweat and I'm dying in pain. The stool/poop coming out of me doesn't hurt like I'm not ripping or tearing anything it just hurts in my right ovary area during the bowel movement. It only happens to me in the morning 2-3 days before I start my period. If I have a bowel movement at night it's perfectly fine.. And the rest of the month this doesn't happen to me. It's only two to three days before I start my period and it's during my morning bowel movement. Once I start my period, the painful morning BM doesn't happen. Of course I get horrible debilitating cramps during my period though.

    I think where pregnancy comes into it is because you have less periods, so you don’t have a period for 9 months, therefore it could delay endo symptoms, for me when I was on the pill I believe it suppressed my endo, and now I have been off it for three years when was I started to have more trouble, that being said I do not personally recommend the pill for solving any problems, it always seems like a bandaid solution rather then healing root causes. Also have you trialled thc or cbd oil, I have been experimenting with both, I’m keen to see if there is improvement, both helps with inflammation, and the thc I’m keen to try as a pain reliever

    • @JanellKristina
      @JanellKristina  6 лет назад +2

      I took the concerns and symptoms to two different doctors and they both were comfortable using endo and a more informal diagnosis. I was not diagnosed though any sort of surgery or operation because I'm not comfortable with those options and I also did not want to try hormonal birth control to manage symptoms so far either. I hope that answers you question!

      My doctor was able to see it through MRI. I want the surgery to know more details because he said it was pretty clear that it was endometriosis even on the MRI. My symptoms are mild compare to a lot of women I see on RUclips and I want to keep it that way. So I’m thinking I will try surgery and then make some changes to my diet. I’m already vegan so it should be a bit easier for me. You can try looking for treatment centers for endometriosis. I was diagnosed through Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine. I suggest you do do some research on them. They have several locations throughout the United States. I guess I wasn’t officially diagnosed because I didn’t get the surgery yet. I’m having doubts.
