I still shiver when I hear "Between the Rays". It's not really old enough to be counted in as a trance classic, but it IS a trance classic. It is part of the very few that you can listen to again and again without ever growing tired of it. You are up there with the greats Örjan
It will always be one of the greatest trance tunes! Between the rays is so simple yet so effective. I think that actually is the key to all of orjans tunes. Simple but massive!
When he is talking about his brother you can feel how really big impact on Orjans life he has and it's clear his death has a reflect on his music. I love his music. And yes I respect him.

Greetings my fellow norwegian. Stumbled over this video as i tried to find some inspiration due to my stagnation in the attempt of creating my first, fullworthy track. I've been a fan of yours since i first heard La Guitarra, in 2008(?). It was cool to see you in action, and you seem like a really nice and humble guy =) Let me get to the point tho.. This half hour spent, gave me such inspiration to just continue on. PS. You seriously gave me the CHILLS when you fired up Between the Rays. That track.. is beyond and further above.. Awesome to actually get a peek to see whats going on in the project file ;D

All you hear about not compressing Vengeance kicks and boosting low frequencies on the equalizer and then Orjan does both like it's standard. So much confusion when it comes to producing music.
yeah not necessarily true. It's about the overall spectrum, if it works, it works. Obviously overdoing it or distorting sounds is a no.. but show me some other way to make kicks as big or clear, without compression.. or bass without boosting freqs. it has to be done nowadays. quality standard has increased so much

The feel of a physical instrument beneath your fingertips. Also the added processing power provided for the instrument makes better sounds and prevents you from always using the headroom and polyphony in your computer.
