Once I started putting 5 listings on at a time I started selling, but then I had to take all my knitting patterns off because they violated copyright law. I have changed what I am selling at least 5 times now. Now I am selling handmade wreaths,supplies, digital stickers, and will be selling handmade heating pads. My experimentals are ai images, and personalized on demand journals in which there will only be 10 of each. If this doesn't work, I will start a new store and put things on in a more organized way (If I ever decide what I'm selling.) Money or no money, I am having so much fun because I love arts and crafts and I love selling. And I am learning so much.

I've just got to 105 listings for my store, listing 1 or 2 a day at most. I don't dare post the stores name on here yet as I don't think I can take the store critique (as helpful as it would no doubt be). I'm going to give it a few weeks to see how things go now that I have a decent amount of items and if no sales arrive (my Mum doesn't count, right?) then I may well be purchasing that 30-minute store review from you Nik! Don't want to carry on in blissful ignorance but after putting a lot of effort into the store I don't think I could handle any criticism just yet lol

I can’t find the review dealing with little silver medallions. You mentioned that her shipping was set to US only and that things would improve when that changed.
I’m really curious about this. My target markets are US and Canada, and I’m just separating these markets because of very strong negative response from the Canadian side on buying products that originate in the US - a month or longer stopped at the border, and astronomical shipping costs, which I think you suggest people are all right with, but it seems not in my experience. I’m doing POD t-shirts and mugs.
I’ll learn more as I go, I’m sure, and no one’s buying anyway! Lots to learn.

I want to say thank you Nik for all your video's. I came across you when i searched for erank vs everbee. I'm greatful that i was directed to you and I've been watching your video's everyday since last week. I was stuck on a niche, although i love the jewelry niche, I was intimated but as of today i have decided to go for and follow your direction of how to do my research and do what i really love. My goal is to do my research on potential suppliers (currently doing so) and doing my etsy research on the top seller's and noting it down (i like to do it old school and write it on a notebook). I'm going to start my shop on etsy the second week of April.

I checked out your shop in case he doesn't have time. Your coquette t shirts are very nice. You even have a personalized tumbler with a pink bow, which is cute. You have nice journals and a beautiful picnic blanket.
But....there's an awful lot of cherries and bows. Maybe you should have more t shirts or other items with the coquette cowgirl aesthetic. It's popular. You don't appear to have a niche.
Have you searched first for each item to see if Etsy customers are looking for it? Is there a demand for a strawberry bucket hat? Are people wanting cherries on things?
I use Sales Samarai to search for what Etsy customers are looking for. That's the key to having products people want to buy in your store. Make what they are looking for.

Thanks for your reply, I will just say I wouldn't advise anyone to use Sales Samurai, none of the search volume/click data comes from Etsy, which is the same for all these tools.
When you say personalise what do you mean? To me it is adding a name of someone but you mention adding a flower, do you mean make it unique?
It can be anything that the customer wants to add, and you can actually do the work for.
Please someone explain me what ratio of the image we have to upload? Is it square 1:1, is it 4:3, I'm very confused. Month ago I saw 4:3 evrywhere, now I see only 1:1 ratio images.

Great video! It's really helpful for beginners. However, I'm curious about the actual potential for such a store. I've done some calculations, and it seems like the shop owner would make about £10 profit per bag after accounting for commissions and materials. This means selling 100 bags a month just to make £1000, which might not even cover all the bills. It seems feasible only as a hobby. I'm interested in knowing if there's a viable business model on Etsy for physical goods with just one person running the show.
People are making a small fortune just by themselves running a Etsy shop. But they work at it.
@@Tawny593 Absolutely, people can indeed earn well if they're into digital products, POD (Print on Demand), or dropshipping, rather than physical goods. Scaling a physical product business as a solo entrepreneur poses significant challenges.

If you're not making sales, is it better to redo the seo and let it 'discover' again, or redo all the listings (duplicates) with good seo, then delete the 'slow' ones?

@@etsyconsultant One RUclips guru says this a lot but never tells us how to do it. It's in her course apparently. I asked and was directed to "reach out"... just not in a comment. I wouldn't watch if I didn't take anything away, though so all is not lost.
I DID find out something from the channel of Kristina Nicole. She put out a video a month ago regarding it. Actually two videos. You'll find them on her channel. She does product photography. Basically it's "make sure the subject of the photo is within a central square so it shows well on ETSY. Shooting on Android gives you a 4:3 ratio so the left and right will be cut. Shooting with iPhone gives a 5:4 ratio so left/right/top/bottom will be cut when shown on ETSY as a square. Top and bottom are cropped less in this case.
what size must be thw photos in px?
Recommended is 2000px x 2000px
