Nick, I did what you described in this video last year. I uploaded my 100 listings through July-September. I had 5 sales in my store from 2021 up til August 2023. In August Etsy algorithm picked up my store, and this January I have 103 sales. I’m planning to double my sales this year with this very same strategy 😊

Nick, this was so valuable. Waiting to open my store after 2 major surgeries. 1 down , 1 to go.I WILL be selling beaded jewellery. Thought I would have opened SEPT 2023, but didn’t want to open and then have to go on vacation mode twice, and lose any algorithm momentum I may have achieved. I am 74 yrs old, and definitely have the time to give, however given the delay in opening, feel I have lost some confidence.Still have the drive and tenacity to succeed. This video was so helpful, walking through step by step., has made me realise I can do this. Plan to watch all your videos again while I am recuperating. Will need a call to you, because I Have mostly one of pieces. Will start to make multiples, where possible with the amount of beads I have. I import from BALI. Thanks for your expertise. Thanks Nik!
I assume this as a refresher course for me to work on my 2nd store. I opened my 2nd store on May 2023 and been sitting idle until now. I listed around 10 items and deactivated them because I was not confident, now the shop is in vacation mode. To me, the most daunting parts are product/niche validation & SEO as I prefer selling in micro niche, same as my 1st store. My 1st store is doing very well, and still in building phase as it's only a 1-year old store. Working on my 1st store is more enjoyable than building my 2nd store. I can still feel that pain of building 1st store from scratch.
January is already about to end, and I need to encourage myself to start listing one item a day in my 2nd store.

    Hey Nik! 🙂
Thank you for the GREAT course! I appreciate it! I have some questions:
1.) Shipping Methods / Shipping Globally
    - Do you recommend multiple shipping methods?
    - Is there a program for this? (I thought I read somewhere that ETSY has one)
    - How is shipping globally estimated? I worry a lot about customers waiting a long time or orders not being received, which could give my store a bad review/rating 😕
    - Is it best for me to buy a printer and do it on my own?
    2.) Shop Set Up
    - Can the seller Icon and Ship Icon be the brand logo? If not, what are the differences here for what should be uploaded?
    - Do you recommend ever having products being discounted at any time?
    3.) Niches / Sub-niches
    - Is it possible for non-evergreen niche stores do well?
    4.) Production Partners
    - Is this a person working with you in a business? Where you may be sourcing materials from?
    5.) Grow Sections Equally
    - I am still confused by this, and I do not know how to ask a question about it. Would you be able to give an example of how this would look?
    6.) Draft Folders
    - Can I upload my item and input all the information in all the sections, so it can be ready ahead of time to post?
    7.) Item Prices
    - Do you have recommendations on how to set the prices for items, so you make the right profit margin?
    8.) Trademark / Copyright
    - I have seen some videos about this and it makes me nervous that I will sell a product that has already been trademarked or something in /on it is copyrighted. What do you recommend to your clients to navigate this piece of the puzzle before designing?
    9.) New ETSY Store Expectations
    - What expectations should I have for the growth rate of sales for my new ETSY store? The process you are teaching us is a gradual one, so I want to make sure I stay realistic with meeting my income goals from ETSY.
That was a lot of questions, but any answers or feedback on any of these would be greatly appreciated, whether by you or anyone else on the Nik - Etsy Consultant Team / Community! THANK YOU! 🙂

Thanks for the video. Lots of helpful information. It's helpful to have a concrete strategy. My questions: 1) How do I handle it if I have more than one POD? do I somehow make sure each one has the appropriate item from me in their inventory? I've listened to several differen't people's video--no one has made this clear yet. Maybe you can. 3) Yeah, I'm hearing include a video with each listing. Got it. HOW do you make a video/ What software? Obviously this is a quickie, not a complicated one. thanks for incorporating these questions somewhere.

    • @etsyconsultant
      @etsyconsultant  5 месяцев назад

Hi there, thanks for your comment. If you mean how do you use more than one production partner for POD then that's simple. In the listing, you are required to list the production partner, so it shouldn't matter if you have more than one supplier. You can take a video with your phone and upload it to Etsy, as you would a photo.

@@etsyconsultant I logged into my account to create my 2nd listing and found my account suspended and don't know what I did wrong. I filled out their appeal asking what happened. I explained I just opened and added 1 listing. I said all the artwork is mine. the photographs and videos are mine that I created. I;m using printify. The only thing I could think of is that when I logged in to get rid of an old listing that i never published yet it said -20 cents in red. I wasn't sure why I would owe 20 cents if I never published the listing. When I originally started an etsy shop, just to go through the motions, it was forcing me to make a listing, so I did, but never published it. Then when I was ready to do it for real, I noticed the 20 cents but forgot about it because I was so tired after 5 hours from filling in information for the shop and creating 1 listing. I hope that's all it is. ugh. now I have to wait. they said could take 2 weeks to get answer. I can't believe this. i noticed I'm messaging from my PetGroovy name. that was the name of my shop. I also have a shopify shop of same name but with a hyphen, Pet-Groovy .com. I was going to talk to you about selling item and services from there and putting it on etsy. Thank you Nik, that was super helpful!
I'm definitely in the new Etsy seller realm (one store with just a few (random!) items and a couple of POD sales (mugs 😂)). I'm switching to digital now (and will shelve the currently listed items).
The name I have for my store can lend itself to being a digital supplier for business peeps, so I might go that way. Other than that, I have the option of starting again from scratch and choosing the niche you suggested for digital products in one of your other videos. I would start this as a digital store, though some of those products could lend themselves to POD further down the line if they proved to be popular.
    Decisions, decisions... 😃

I wanted to revive a fledgling neglected (aka DEAD), store. I recently discovered your channel Nick, and have been following your advice. I upload one POD design per day and after 22 days I got my first organic sale. For efficiency sake I wanted to work ahead but I wasn't sure I could upload my drafts, so I picked up on that tidbit right away. Yay! This video was so perfect for me right now, as I am just getting prepared to open my first Etsy shop and I plan to follow all of your steps. This may be a silly question, but in one of your previous Etsy videos about making $10 000 in a year, you recommended starting the business in January. Since it is only the end of July right now, would you still recommend that I wait until January next year to open my new store?

Thank you Nick for the course. I feel no longer a newbie, as I launched 2 stores begin of 2024, listing 21 / 25 items as of today. One per day, as you stress on.
However, listening again to your walk-around I picked up a few areas where I still can improve my store / listings : mentioning the production partner for POD, checking the about page, adding materials + attributes to listings. And finally adding the tag VALENTINE to items in my watercolour paintings store. Who knows ? A customer looking for a Valentine gift ? I want to be eligible :)

I've had my store for several years now but did not have any of this valuable information you presented in this video. Did not know this information was available on RUclips. Never showed up until now. I also watched the updated 2024 SEO video. My products are seasonal (cold weather/Winter) and I always did not renew when the products expired until the next season. Also what I have been doing is create a good amount of products, photos graph them and pick a date to sit and upload them all at the same time into the store. Finding out from the video that's not the way to do it. I will put them in draft and upload daily.

Mostly questions about the contradictory suggestions and things like SEO. And they seem to make sense on either side but I just get confused on which way to go or which way is better. My shop is only 1 month old and I don't know if I should just keep making changes and improvements as I go or just scrap the whole thing and start over with a new store. I can give the link to my store if you're able to assess and let me know if it's even on the right track.

Thank you for the excellent, informative video! Question: for POD items, is it a good idea to list multiple colorways for designs as separate listings (I don't think Printify allows for it within a single listing). Or would having extremely similar titles/tags across multiple colorway listings affect them negatively?

    • @etsyconsultant

Hi there, thanks for your comment. To help you understand imagine you have 6 sections, and these sections are labelled as 'professions'. You may have Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Mechanics etc. Creating listings only in the mechanics section would not be growing your store evenly. I recommend that you would list in each category at an even pace, so one in the Doctor section, then one in the Teacher section. etc.....

Hi Diane, it is important that sellers understand the reality of selling on Etsy, too many RUclipsrs give advice that is not based in the real world unfortunately. However, definitely get set up on Etsy, there is a ton of opportunity if you are willing to put in the work.
My number 1 piece of advice I can give you is this: design will be your number 1 problem, so make sure you have the ability to work extensively on designs, and have months of time to put into it.
