    To anyone who feels stupid or weak for struggling with health anxiety.. this year has been the toughest year of my life, I "have had" MS, a brain tumor and ALS (I was twitching and feeling numb all over my body), and now I am having GI issues which means I am juggling colon cancer and pancreatic cancer - still need to pick which one, probably I'll end up choosing the second since it's more deadly. I try to make fun of it and jokingly say that if I survive all of that in one year nothing can kill me anymore, but really it isn't funny, it's a nightmare, your brain always picks the absolute worst case scenario and then locks you in a state of panic for weeks where you can't function. I wish anyone who is going through this will find a way out.

      @@MusliimaAlhamdulilah It's slowly getting better for me. The perceived symptoms never stop, but what helps me is this idea: If I was wrong every time about them, and by now I have been wrong countless times, the chances are very high that I'm wrong this time too. Therapy also helps.

    I had a massive medical emergency last November after a ceserian, since then I’ve had severe health anxiety. It got to the point I was calling ambulance after ambulance convinced I was dying.
    Slowly slowly I’m trying to get through each panic attack without seeking reassurance, it’s so hard! My brain is telling me I’m in serious danger and my body reacts accordingly.
    It’s so hard to explain to people what I’m going through, even my husband looks at me like I’ve lost my mind when I tell him my new illness each day 🤦🏼‍♀️

    I’ve always had anxiety but never health anxiety … not like this , the last few months. I’m congested? That means I’m dying somehow and my lungs are failing. Muscle twitches? I must have a neurological disorder. Tired? Maybe I’m getting a disease. It never ends. It’s exhausting. And I’m a healthy guy in my mid 30s. Been to urgent cares, doctors, blood tests, you name it. All fine. But yet my mind tells me “well THIS time it’s different”. It never ends. One thing goes away and another comes back. Maybe it’s just a manifestation of my anxiety into being in tune with my body- only in a hyperactive state. But i can’t live like this anymore. It’s stopped me from doing things I love sometimes and I’m sick of that. I also think that being OK with death helps. Not to focus on it. But just to acknowledge that life is short and I can’t live in this cycle of anxiety. And you don’t have to live like that either. We deserve better. Prayer has helped me; and God is greater than any of our problems. Keep fighting through, fam. 🙏💪

      Does your twitching have a range? Like, zings/spasms/twitches?

    • @AnEchochet
      @AnEchochet 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@katim8932 Great question. Occasionally they are single twitches that occur randomly-like a big jolt-especially in my thighs and buttocks. But most often they appear clustered, meaning once they start in an area, it will twitch several times sporadically in that area, usually 10-15 seconds in my abdomen, shoulder, biceps.
      It's my calves that give me the most trouble; I'll go days on end where it feels the twitching virtually never stops until I fall asleep. It's a light, scattered popping of muscle tissue in the calf that is easily visible to the naked eye.
      Other sensations that have occurred, but aren't as common now, were areas of light numbness and/or very slight pins/needles feeling in my feet. But those would never last more than a couple days.
      Furthermore, one bizarre thing that happens occasionally, is I can look down with my head and instantly trigger bizarre sensations in my lower back and thigh. I know that the stretching of the spinal cord pulls on the nerves and causes agitation, but I find it bizarre how that only happens a handful of times within the year.
      I think most of this is immunological and has a lot to do with inflammation. I could probably use an entire year without a drop of gluten, sugar, or alcohol. Lol.

    Fantastic what you do (and are planning to do) to help support people suffering with what can be so deeply frightening, dreadfully isolating / lonely and can deal out some real & awful physical symptoms.

  • @casario2808
    @casario2808 3 месяца назад

    In addition to working on behaviors, i think a lot of HA and catastrophizing goes back to childhood trauma (or just a cumulation of toxic stress) that leaves our brain conditioned to excessive worry. The physical symptoms themselves, though not serious, are hardwired from learned neuro pathways. Brain thinks its doing us a favour. But we are safe. Recommend looking at mind-body syndrome treatments like somatic work and emotional release (eg journalling) in addition to working on behaviors and thoughts.

    Dear Cherelle: I am so sorry to hear about the separation from your husband, Joe! 💔 - Just today I found your RUclips channel, and, I have probably watched 7-8 videos already. Interestingly, I just watched a Q & A from about four years ago - where you were talking about how you'd gotten pregnant within six weeks of being with Joe AND how supportive he had been, even early on with your Health Anxiety issues. Anyway, sending you a big hug of comfort from Southern California ...❤️‍🩹
