I think a major problem with health anxiety is just simply we are getting older and our bodies are constantly changing over time. New sensation can trigger you dramatically

    • @gabrielametodieva8360
      @gabrielametodieva8360 Год назад +14

That’s so true. It’s been 3 years almost for me and meanwhile yes my body is changing. I don’t even remember what it felt like to be “symptom-less” but I’m unlikely to ever be because I’m not getting any younger. Eg floaters, neck/back pain, getting easily sore after sport can happen. I also wonder if i really was “symptom-free” 5-7 years ago or I just didn’t notice these sensations. The more you focus on something, the stronger you feel it. Eg. I know that I’ve always been a slightly dizzy person but it never triggered anxiety before.

@@tomsale5142 there is something that hurts me every day for sure. But my focus is not on my muscle pain anymore so I don’t notice it. In saying this I do exercise but I am not that well trained so I get sore after exercise a lot. But there were definitely times where I was just stressed and tight and had muscle pain because of that. It’s funny how when your brain is focused on something else you don’t notice things that used to make you anxious ..

I turned 70 in March. My GAD has been lifelong. Health anxiety is a part of it but not all of it: I am inside my head 24/7, worried about my own thoughts, worried about worrying...and everything else. At the moment I'm undergoing a "swollen lymph nodes (groin)" panic. On my way to a CAT scat later this morning, biopsy tomorrow. Aside from all the other worries (non stop fear of death and disease), the cost here in the US of all these tests is not negligible despite having decent insurance
Thank you: it's 4 am and your channel offers awesome reassurance - at least on the lymph note side. Living with this level of anxiety all my life has had tremendeous costs as you can imagine...THANK YOU ❤

I’ve been on a health anxiety roller coaster for the past 7 months. Started with a pain in my back I convinced myself it was a kidney tumor. Turned out to be a little benign lump of fat on my lower back nothing dangerous at all. After 4 months of worrying about a kidney tumor I started having hypnic jerks every single night. Been suffering through those for 2 months and last week I started having super mild but daily headaches. It’s so hard telling myself it’s not a brain tumor or some other super deadly/dangerous condition. These videos have helped me since I discovered them 3 nights ago. Thank you and good luck to all of us.

My main one I’ve struggled with for 5+ years now is chest pains all over the left side of my chest, heart palpitations, heart attack symptoms, fast heart rate, etc. and despite the countless times doctors have told my heart is fine, it only makes me feel better for a bit and then it comes back. It’ll hit me out of nowhere when I’m not currently feeling anxious and then of course it triggers severe anxiety for the rest of the day so I relate to this.

It’s our subconscious mind . 90% of what we do is controlled by our subconscious. Our subconscious is always filtering our environment. So although you may not perceive the worry or negative thoughts it’s is still in fact running in the background . We have to get better at communicating with our subconscious / inner child . It’s always processing/ protecting . And it speaks to us though our body aka sensations and symptoms .

I went through immense stress being responsible for my Mom and doctors and trying to help her and then hospice and having her pass away which was in April and now it’s September and both of my eyes are twitching, and I have ulcerative colitis and major digestive issues and was wondering why this didn’t happen when I was stressed and all happening now so this was the perfect video because like you said after that intense stress the symptoms were delayed and hitting me now. Yoga has always been my savior physically and mentally but I had stopped going to my classes when COVID hit so I need to get back into it whether a class or on my own. Thanks so much though because just seeing your video has lowered my anxiety considerably knowing it could just be a delayed response to all that immense stress.

I had this and never thought of it as an anxiety episode but now I see it clearly. Thank you for the video! I had two major episodes, one in 2012, when I tried to exit the body and fall asleep consciously which triggered the fear of death and the feeling of being in an afterlife, insomnia and the feeling of having no resort in reality. I managed the episode by getting near people who were more grounded and allowing myself to be guided towards a more practical way to live(I also ended a relationship back then). I had heart palpitations and the fear of having a heart attack. Another one is recently, after a parasite cleanse I had digestive issues and lowered my electrolytes and vitamins, which triggered dizziness and the impression that I have a neurodegenerative disease, or a brain tumor. I know in my heart it's stress and vitamin deficiency but the finger twitch and the hypochondriac gene from my grandmother plays me quite well...Thank you for raising awareness on this...I also had hip pain a few months ago triggered by stress and having to switch homes, and back then I remember thinking I had ALS or reumatoid arthritis..I hate when the brain does this :( Even after being a bit dizzy the other day, I am a bit afraid to wake up dizzy again and I check myself during the night

That night I woke up a few times with muscle twitches in my legs... Firing off like crazy!! Its been about a week and a half with the twitching and health anxiety ruining my last week and a half and they are starting to finally die down now that I've seen your videos. I do definitely find myself trying to attach myself to new minor things going on. I just love life too much despite how much I have going on in it. Definitely helps to remind myself that I have been diagnosed with anxiety. I have ALWAYS had health anxiety, even as a kid. My mom has videos of me on the ole family video recorder with my list of sumptoms and how they make me feel 🤦‍♀️. The first time i remember having health anxiety was after watching something on snimal planet, I had to have been like 7 years old or so, and i was convinced I had rabies 🤣 so yesh justcreminding myself that anxiety can cause my symptoms AND I have been diagnosed with anxiety helps reassure me.

Listening to you makes alot of sense. I was with my ex for just over ten years. His drug addiction was hell to go through, the lying, cheating, gaslighting me, manipulation. He would come and go from me to addict females. I don’t use drugs. I was in that survival mode for all those years and since I asked him to leave in Nov 2022 the stress has gone, I’m grieving the loss of who he was off drugs, but I feel I’ve aged now, I’m 47, no motivation, I’m drained, tired and exhausted. I’ve had blurred vision then I start googling, I’ve had tingling feet and it showed I was taking too much B6. I am getting pain behind one eye and I think brain tumour. The stress of my ex on drugs has gone. But I’m getting all these weird symptoms in my body now. I worry about saggy eye lids. I hate being like this.

i’ve been suffering from Health Anxiety ever since the start of Covid back in 2020. Went through the same things you went through. For awhile, i thought that i had some major problems with my heart but after spending my hard earned money on countless of checkups and echogram, i was fine. And for awhile i was fine, my anxiety was not as bad as it was before but then recently i saw a post of someone who passed because of ALS and thats when my Health Anxiety began to creep in on me again. I’ve been having muscle pain on my left shoulder and a minor pain on one particular spot on my spine (had it checked out before and the doctor said i just need to start exercising) and i began to be hyper vigilant of any symptoms of my body such as tingling or anything.
As of now i am trying to be okay again and this video helps me a lot. To all the lovely people who are suffering HA, you are not alone and be sure that we’ll overcome this together 💪🏽

I may be having this going on right now.
In January of this year I started having panic attacks for the first time. I've always had some moderate anxiety but this really set me off. For the next 5 months, everyday was a struggle as I just felt a constant overwhelming fear at seemingly nothing at all. I tried a few different anti-depressants (one messed with my sleep which made me way worse), therapy, meditation, you name it. Nothing seemed to help. I got so bad that I would cry uncontrollably at work for no reason. I eventually got to the point where I took leave from work and really focused in on therapy. The combo of time off work, extra therapy, and an anti depressant that worked for me, led to a blissful 2 weeks where I had very little anxiety and started to feel hope for myself again. I was able to do things I enjoy and actually focus on them like cooking and working out. Then the twitching started.
Both my calves now fasciculate non stop all day 24/7. I will also sometimes get random, short lived twitches in other parts of my body like my thighs, glutes, biceps, and triceps. I've been to just about every Dr and everything so far has come back clean with no nerve damage/compression and no obvious nutrient deficiencies. I know I dont have any damage or any life threatening neurological disease, but its hard to explain to other people just how uncomfortable I am 24/7 and the mental drain that has on me. This has been going on for about 3 months now. Nothing really makes the twitching better, but not getting good sleep definitely makes them worse.
I'm working with a new dr on possible hidden deficiencies/malabsorptions and have been referred to rheumatology after an ANA test came back elevated.
Im wracking my brain and trying to explore every avenue of health to find the cause of the twitching and fix it, but the reality could be that its just my nerves are out of wack and are still healing from the crazy amount of anxiety and stress from this year. I just wish it wasnt taking so long and my legs would go back to normal.
Sorry for the long winded story/rant but it feels good to write it all out sometimes. Love your vids Cherelle.

I deal with a similar thing! You’re not alone. I have to get a muscle biopsy I guess now?? I really think everything will be okay but it will definitely be good information to have regardless. I got some more extensive blood test done and found out my CK enzyme levels were elevated??(idk how much) but my doctor was like let’s get a biopsy going just to see. And upon my research literally doing any normal activities or working out a little more can cause this to happen. So it can all be very normal even for healthy people.
I’m like you and have tons of tests done and so far I’m good, with SOME little deficiencies or low levels of stuff but I’m working on that now.
Haven’t had any nerve conduction studies but that could be next on the list after the biopsy.
BUT I have read that your low back can be causing the twitching. Like something in the S1 or S2? But hard to say cause BFS is a thing too.
Either way. It’s annoying, uncomfortable and anxiety is a pain in the butt. BUT we got this! the body knows how to heal. We just have to remember how magical it truly is and believe that if we do what we can to stay healthy, it can get better truly!

I always get frequent urination episodes out of the blue they feel like a uti that gradually subsides. It was my first real noticable symtom which started in the december after the pandemic started. I had spells of dizziness and headaches etc before that but that never bothered me as I just assumed it was from tiredness because I had my second baby 3 weeks before covid all started. I was extremely stressed and anxious and hormaons everywhere and had the sleepless nights and all the general stress that covid brought us so no wonder really. I have had loads of different tests and been told its anxiety. Ive had also experienced tightness in throat, ibs type symtoms, tinitus, numb right leg, muscle tension around ribs, indigestion and reflux and probably some more which of course add more stress in themselves. They all come and go. When the frequent urination happened out of nowhere it was so confusing, so stressful and so uncomfortable which made everything worse. It still happens intermittently when I feel like I'm not stressed or anxious but I guess I have to remember that my body is still stressed from all the anxiety and stress and it will take a while for my nervous system to calm down.

The toughest hill for me to climb has been accepting my EMG results, knowing I'm still perfectly strong (I just finished hand splitting wood for the day), and trying to associate my health anxiety with my twitching. It's been hard on my wife, and I'm beyond the feeling that I'm dying, so now I'm working through the acceptance. I'm just waiting for the day when I allow the twitching to just fade into the background and I live my life regardless of feeling them. I'm seeking out some counseling as well. Hi Cherelle, this is almost exactly what I've been going through, it's very reassuring to finally find someone who has had the same experiences as me. I have been suffering with chronic sinusitis and facial numbness which was purely physical but because I have health anxiety and panic disorder, it has caused an almost constant panic attack lasting over 5 months so far. I've been wondering if I'll ever get better, if I'll ever be ok again or if I should accept that I have to live in an unbearable state of perpetual panic.
I've had pressure in my head (not just sinusitis pressure) like someone is crushing my skull from every angle, sometimes flashes of pain where I think I'm going to fall over, I've felt weak and sick and dizzy, I've stopped being able to look after myself and it's caused depression.
I too thought I had a brain tumour and I had an MRI two weeks ago. The results were ok and all the bloods done in A&E, out of hours and from the GP were normal. I thought this would settle any panic symptoms instantly, but no, I'm still struggling. I went into a shop today and I drove, but it was hell. It's been really good to watch some of your videos and I really connected with them. I'm also a lymphoma survivor so it was extra surreal watching this video as I used to check my neck constantly for lumps. Thanks and I hope you continue to win the battle against these symptoms.

Catastrophe at the time and I obsess over it. My latest phase has been heart related, flutters pounding etc went for an ECG and was normal but I was convinced they hadn’t tested me properly, lately I started having gasping when I was on the cusp of sleep and general need for taking deep breaths when I’m awake. I can easily take a deep breath but it feels like I need to to get oxygen into my lungs. So my partner suggested box breathing but on the hold your breath for the count of 4 once you’ve taken a breath in, I noticed my pulse drops right down, so I googled it and found all sorts.
