Hi 👋 Del and thanks for the good comments my friend! Oh yes it was fantastic to have Rob back enjoying the RC fun with us, I think he has his mojo back! Well I think you called it right, we all agreed that the the Drift spec chassis was actually better at drifting! As you would expect, but it was good to find out in a real life test. I agree, either way these cars are beautiful in Motion. And Alf days hi Del! 👋 😀👍
That was a nice watch, Mark, very cool footage! The video is useful for me, I never understood the deal with those drift cars, I have a 28th scale version and I can't say it gets much use. But really nice explanation and they do look cool sliding across the basketball court there! I have to confess, I think Rob's looks the best, that gold really shines! Hi 👋 Mads! No, I don't know much about drifting either! But we are getting some practise in and slowly getting the hang of it. I must say hey that's it is is Alfie that really enjoyed drifting so we always get these cars out when he comes home. I totally agree with you about the cars, Rob's gold Subaru looks fantastic! I hope your weekend and has gone well too, cheers!😎👋
Thanks a ton, Ian! I will be sure to tell Rob that you liked his paint job. I totally agree the gold indeed looks awesome! It's always good to try something different to the box art now and again! Best wishes from the guys in Birmingham! 🙂✌👍
Hi mate and thanks for always leaving a thoughtful comment, it's very kind of you! I agree these Subaru bodies from Tamiya are some of the best you can get on the market. It was good that Rob went with a different colour so we didn't have two blue cars running around together! I hope your weekend was a good one too to my friend! 😁👍
Thanks Mark , you guys really let us see the difference between kits . I'm trying not to buy more but what the hell ,ha,ha, that was great filming to. The cars look real.
Hi Peter and thanks again for taking the time to leave the great comment! Oh yes I know how it is, too many kits and not enough time or money! But hey hey we got to spend and our time on something so it might as well be something fun! Take care my friend! 😎 🤝👍

Hi Jeremy and thank you for always leaving a great comment. Oh yes it was great to have Alfie back and I really appreciate his efforts with the two cameras. I'm lucky to have him! I hope you had a great weekend and, always best wishes from Mark. 👊 😁🤝
Hiya matey. Great to see you Rob and Alf out RC''ing again. What a great place to test your drift cars. So my understanding of the drift spec TT-02 is that they just give you the drift tyres and AW grease to go in the diffs. Also you get oil shocks which are essential. Well worth the money as you say. You got some really great shots of the cars and a lovely edit as I would expect from your good self. Hope your weekend is off to a good start. I've had a few rather strong beers so I need to go and make some food to soak it up. Best wishes mate 😁
Hi Pete and thanks for the comment as ever, it's always great to read you! Oh yeah it was great to get the Gang together again, it's been such a long time. Alfie really enjoys running these drift cars so we always try to get them out when he comes home from uni. Anyway, the tt02d does give you the Drift tires and the Grease but also the sport tuned motor and heatsink, as you say its definitely worth a few extra pounds! Yeah this basketball court is a great place to run the cars but but we did have to wait for the kids too to vacate the area! I hope you had a great weekend too my friend and it sounds like those beers were well deserved! I hope you didn't get a hangover! As always, all the best to you mate! 🙂 ✌👍
A beautifully executed drift video Mark. That was a joy to watch. To be honest I know very little about the technical aspects of drifting, so I couldn't really give an opinion of which was the best performer. I just thoroughly enjoyed watching those two beautiful cars doing their stuff. An extra bonus for me was seeing that driver cockpits had been added to both vehicles - a wonderful touch that adds so much realism to these RC's. Good to see Rob getting involved too. Hope he's feeling a little better now that the summer is well underway. Nice one boys..👍🏻. All the best for now mate and next week's extended Bank Holiday too..😀👍🏻😀👍🏻.

To be honest I really don't know much about drifting either, but Alfie really enjoys running these cars so we usually get them out when he comes back from uni. I have to agree, from the footage it looked like the drift specific chassis went into and held the drifts better. I think casual tandem drifting with your crew is a great way to spend an afternoon. Nice run 👍🏾
Hi Paul and many thanks as always! Yep, the driftspec chassis is worth the money if you want to play at this kind of driving, it was a lot easier to control. But as you say, a bit of casual drifting is a great way to have fun with friends in our great hobby. I hope we get more time for it again soon. All the best, Bro! :O)

Well these cars were a little bit different, but not too different! Hope you're having a good weekend and always the best from Mark. 👍
Hi 👋 Greg and thanks for leaving a comment my friend 🙂 Yes the TT02 Subaru is a great kit to build and very reliable. Best regards from Birmingham UK 🇬🇧! ✌👍
Well looks like we are agreed on your thoughts concerning these rigs. But one thing is for sure. They are both great rigs. Nice running out there guys. Thanks' again for sharing mark
Hi Nick, I hope you are doing well my friend. Yeah comma if you want to go drifting it's well worth spending the extra money and going for the tt02d. But I agree that both rigs are great RC kits. Thanks for watching and always the best to you my friend. 🙂🙏👍
Many thanks my friend! I'm really glad that you enjoyed this video of Us 3 messing around with a couple of drift cars! We really are amateurs but enjoyed it all the same. Yes it was great to have the Gang back together after all this time. Always best wishes from Mark 👊 😁👍
Hi 👋 Dirk! Many thanks for watching and leaving a nice comment. I haven't done much of drifting either but we are getting lots of practise. I recommend getting one of these drift cars if you get the chance, it's a nice change to drive something different! All the best from Mark. 👍
Thanks Craig, always a pleasure to read you! Yeah it was a few weeks back when we got together again and we had a blast! Hehe, too right, I need some neons installed, I'll see what I can do. Have a smashing weekend, matey! 👍
Hi there Mark and greetings from Sorrento, Italy! Missing my RC time, so managed to sneak in a cheeky view of a few RC enthusiasts, while waiting here and there ! 😊😁😉. Awesome run and good to see the 3 amigos are back ! 😁😊😉, great RC action, take care and best wishes to you and the family 😁😊😉
Wow John, I hope you are enjoying your Italian holiday! Have you got chance to catch this video mate, much appreciated that you managed to leave a comment whilst on holiday. Enjoy your break and best wishes to you and yours, all the best from your friend Mark. 🙂✌👍
Hi Mark, oh yes, liked this video of the two TT02’s in a chassis to chassis comparison. I did manage to watch in, whilst in Italy. The small extra for the TT02D seems to pay dividends, when placing them in a drift environment. Maybe it might be worth seeing them in another showdown, in a rally car / road car scenario? Would the extra’s on the TT02D make it a better handling car in this test? Also, I believe there is a TT02S chassis too. Anyway, back into the UK this evening, came back from 28 to 30degrees C to 12degrees C, rain and hailstones! Brrrrrrr…..it’s cold! As always, take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😁😉
@@JF-RC Hi John, good to hear you are back safe and sound, if a little chilly! Yeah, I think there are more comparisons to come, the bits you get extra with the TT02D make it quite a bargain! All the best, my good friend! :))
Many thanks, Chris, that's very kind of you to say! I must admit that RC cars are definitely my passion and my number 1 hobby! Wishing you a great weekend! :)
Thank you again, Steve! Yes, Tamiya are the best when it comes to Lexan replica road car bodies, as you know. We still need a lot more practice at drifting, it's a lot harder than it looks. All the best, dude. Cheers!
I have a super rare kyosho 99 Subaru Impreza body shell set part No:39901 with the same livery for my superten fw03 its uncut and unpainted I can’t get around to doing it but after seeing your video its next on my list.✌️
That was cool ! Always love your running footage and this was no exception either. Never been into drifting really but you guys made it look like fun , I do like a blue Subaru rally car and that looked super drifting about on the concrete.👍
Awesome! Thank you Andy! As I've said before, I'm no drifter, really, but Alf really enjoys it, I suppose it's another skill he wants to master. At the end of the day we had a great time so that's what really matters. And yes, the cars are always great to watch, Tamiya goodness all round! All the best, fella, take care! 😎👍
Thanks pal! Yeah you are right, I do prefer a twin-stick radio! But I also have a few of the steering wheel radios too and do use them from time to time! Cheers 😎 👍 🍻
Hi Tibs, yep I gotta agree with you on that! I'm no drifter either, but it was easier for me with the classic Richard Burns rally car! Have a great weekend, matey! :O)
Brilliant video, love your blue Subaru! Your very good at drifting mate, I'll be building a drift one soon, is it ok if I ask for advice from you if I get stuck! Thanks
Thanks very much, Keith! You are always very welcome here, if I can help I will do my best! I have done a build guide series of the TT02D that might be useful, here is a link to my TT02D playlist: ruclips.net/video/d8b7oQD1umA/видео.html Good luck with the build and feel free to ask anything at all! :)
@@spiti9149 Great idea! I will have a think about how I can do that in the future. Thanks! Bonne idée! Je vais réfléchir à la façon dont je peux faire cela à l'avenir. Merci!
Drifting so hard, but hard to find a good surface. The skate park here is super smooth, just finding it with no skaters on it is the trouble. I would have to go super early to beat them, it was in use 7:30am today. Nice to know the drift chassis makes a difference.
Couldn't agree more, Mal! Oh man, I know what you mean about finding an empty space to RC, we had to stop filming this a few times due to kids coming in with footballs. But 07:30? too early for me, mate!!! Cheers! :O)
Great vid as always but could you do this with a tt02D and a tt02 rally chassis as I'd like to know if a tt02 rally chassis is more versatile. Thanks for the vid mark 👍
Hello Mark, I need your thought. Would stock XV01 be still superior to modder TT02 (ride height, steering, shock) in rally track? Thanks so much & bless you for making such quality content
Thanks dude. Yeah, I did a series of videos testing the TT02 against a stock XV01. The TT02 was slowly upgraded and modified and the XV01 remained stock. The XV01 was still better. Here is a link to one of the videos so you can see what we did. ruclips.net/video/wpW89puPEBs/видео.html Cheers! 😁👌👍
@@straight_six7269 No worries my friend! Well, I've had my XV01 in stock form for almost 5 years and use it often. I haven't had a single part fail in all that time and the gears are going strong! :)
Nice, i just built a Tamiya Nismo Silvia Coppermix TT-02D and was wondering if it would be a good idea to get the aluminium steering parts to eliminate the little sloppiness or at least make it less sloppy? Also, nice Videos! I already learned a lot from your chassis building Videos.
Hello, Pit and thanks for commenting. Oh yes, that Silvia Coppermix is a beautiful car! I think adding the alloy steering parts will definitely reduce the slop a little. As to how much different the driving experience will be, I'm unsure. The cost of those hop-ups for the steering has always put me off buying them. But one thing is for sure, it can't be worse! If you do make the hop-up, please let me know if it works! Best wishes from Mark.
I already replaced the link from the Servo to the steering and from the steering to the wheels with some adjustable "bones" as seen in one of your videos. That already helped a lot! Not sure though if its really worth to buy the steering hop-up, cause as you mentioned, it's pretty expensive. Well, i will think about it and thanks for answering my question. Have a nice day!
Awesome Video! I'm looking to buy a Skyline GT-R R34 Chassis with an TT02-D Kit, because it's my favourite Car. It's currently a Deal at a local Store with an Brushless-Combo upgrade. Do you have any experience with this? Merry Christmas and all the Best from Germany!
Thank you! The GTR34 is a beautiful body. I have put brushless combos in many of my Tamiya Cars and the performance and battery life is much improved, I would recommend it! Merry Christmas and best wishes from Mark in the UK! 🎄😉👍
Hi Ian comma great to read you again! Oh yes now you've gone and done it, I'm gonna have to to fit some drift wheels on my lunch box for sure! It's just got to be done! All the best from Mark 👍 😁✌
I did choose a D because the kit had extra upgrade parts. Oilchocks better Plastik... Don't use it for drifting (open diffs ect.). But maybe I will do it more often.
Good thinking, the Dis definitely a better option than the stock TT02. I don't go drifting that often, but it is good to have a change now and then! 👌👍
Great video, so the only real difference between the cars is the motor? I have a tt02 audi quattro with a tourqe tuned motor and I was thinking of putting on some cva shocks and drift wheels to have a go at drifting would I need to do anything else?
Thanks! Yes, the only real difference is the motor, shocks and tyres, the AW grease in the diffs and of course the metal bearings. You should be good to go with your fantastic Audi Quattro! All the best from Mark...
Hi Rex, I think all the little differences add up, more power helps, as does smoother suspension, but the thick grease in the diffs also contributes! :)
Hi Mark! I’ve watched many of your videos on the TT-02D and that was after I went and bought my own TT-02 and then tried to build it as a “drift spec”. I think what still amazes me about the chassis is how you can build it as a modest “basher” or a 4WD drifter or a hardcore circuit monster, all with simple adjustments to the chassis setup! For anyone else wondering if it’s worth investing into the parts to make a “standard” TT-02 into a drift spec, my answer is no. From my own experience, it costs more money than outright buying a drift spec kit. Even if some decide not to heed my advice, you will need to reference the Drift Spec manual when building your own variation and make sure you have a Sport Tuned motor and oil dampers. Without that much, you might find the car won’t initiate as easily. I will say though that some hop-ups will greatly improve the chassis response, even on Drift Spec chassis or a Drift Spec build. The TT-02 steering upgrade kit, while pricey, is one of the most valuable hop-ups you can get for ANY TT-02 and again, will greatly improve the chassis response.
Hello Tai and thank you very much for the very interesting message! You raise some very good points and I certainly agree with your thoughts. Definitely better to buy the D version rather than paying for parts to do a conversion. Thanks for the advice about the steering upgrade, it's great to know that it's worth the outlay. Best wishes from Mark... :)

@@MarkBryanRC Mark could you please advise me on a good upgrade motor from the standard tamiya one? Maybe one that would fit straight in without having to change much , I appreciate your help.
Hi - yes the fastest motor you can fit to the stock ESC without voiding the warranty is a Tamiya Sport Tuned motor. Silver can is 14000rpm - Sport Tuned is 18300rpm - should give a good speed boost! All the best from Mark.
Yes it's the tyres that enable you to get drifting. Try searching for "1/10 RC drift wheels" and you will find a set to fit. In this video I am using Tamiya drift wheels - here is a link: www.jk-rc.co.uk/tamiya-tt-02d-parts/tamiya-54021-p
Hi there my friend! No, if you get the high speed gear set 68 tooth you don't need to change the motor pinion gear but you will need to re position it on the motor plate by using two different holes. Yes you can get steel pinion gears for the motor from Tamiya. Best wishes from Mark.
@@MarkBryanRC I had it on but didn't line up wasn't even close . The motor spun freely , how many teeth does the factory one have so I can buy the right one .ps I am a sticker sucker lol
@@tuffbadger7342 Hope it all lines up OK! Count the teeth on the pinion if you want to change it, it should also have the number stamped on it! You don't need to buy an adjustable motor mount, the instructions with the high speed gear set tell you what holes to use in the motor plate. Good luck!
Hello and thank you very much! Yes it's easy to convert a stock TT02 to Driftspec but cheaper to buy the D version if you haven't already got a TT02. Main differences are: Ball bearings CVA Super Mini Oil Shocks Sport Tuned Motor Alloy Motor Heatsink AW Grease for the diffs Driftspec Tyres Hope this helps! Cheers! 😎👍

They look great to me guys nice drift action, thanks for your upload 👍🙏🐈
Thank you as always, my friend Cat! We had a blast with these Subarus, even if we can't drift very well, they still look awesome! Cheers! 👍
Woohoo! All hands on deck. Both those rigs look too nice! @ 5 minutes in, the sideways subie- Epic! 👍👍👍
Many thanks my friend! I'm really glad that you enjoyed this video of Us 3 messing around with a couple of drift cars! We really are amateurs but enjoyed it all the same. Yes it was great to have the Gang back together after all this time. Always best wishes from Mark 👊 😁👍
Hi Mark, very nice video and practicle comparison of both chassis. I hadn't driven a drifter yet, so I just enjoyed the video👍
Hi 👋 Dirk! Many thanks for watching and leaving a nice comment. I haven't done much of drifting either but we are getting lots of practise. I recommend getting one of these drift cars if you get the chance, it's a nice change to drive something different! All the best from Mark. 👍
@@MarkBryanRC would you recomment one with or withou giros?
@@RCBirds Hi Dirk, well, I've never used a gyro so I can't advise about that, but I think the fun is in trying to control the drifts manually! :D
Great to see the gang is back together 😎👍🏻🙌🏻 Great drifting video chaps. Love those Subarus 🔥 You need some neon lights for a true drift session 😂
Your shooting technique and composition are the best. I want to do well like you
Thank you very much for the compliment my friend! I hope you do well with your channel to. Best wishes from Mark
Beautiful cars and great low angle footages!😍🙌
Many thanks for the great comment my friend. Best regards from Mark 😎 🙏👍
Love your videos and passion for rc
Many thanks, Chris, that's very kind of you to say! I must admit that RC cars are definitely my passion and my number 1 hobby! Wishing you a great weekend! :)
Nice Video guys 😎
Thanks very much my friend 😀
Great to see the crew out again . Great looking cars and video 👍👍👍
Thanks a ton, Dom! Yeah it was good to have the 3 of us back RCing together. Have a great weekend, mate! 👍
*Inventory Tamiya TT02 and TT02D Drift!!!~~~ Thank you for sharing a good video with a nice car!~~~^_^*
Thank you for watching and your kind comment! 👍
Oh man, they both look great! Love the gold, too. And what a perfect surface for drifting. 😎👍
Thank you again, Steve! Yes, Tamiya are the best when it comes to Lexan replica road car bodies, as you know. We still need a lot more practice at drifting, it's a lot harder than it looks. All the best, dude. Cheers!
Hi i love the iconic blue 99 Subaru Impreza it a great looking car. You make drifting look so easy.✌🏻
Thank you for the kind comment, David! Oh yes, I think the 99 Subaru is one of the best, too! 😎👍👍
I have a super rare kyosho 99 Subaru Impreza body shell set part No:39901 with the same livery for my superten fw03 its uncut and unpainted I can’t get around to doing it but after seeing your video its next on my list.✌️
@@David-069 Sounds great, David, I hope the cutting and painting goes well - cheers!
Hey Mark, I’ve noticed you only using remotes with „sticks“. You only use these or also ones with a steering wheel? Nice video by the way!
Thanks pal! Yeah you are right, I do prefer a twin-stick radio! But I also have a few of the steering wheel radios too and do use them from time to time! Cheers 😎 👍 🍻
The blue classic looked like the clear winner to me Mark. I am No drifter but the good old classic was the one for me
Hi Tibs, yep I gotta agree with you on that!
I have done a build guide series of the TT02D that might be useful, here is a link to my TT02D playlist:

Bonjour où avez vous commandé la subaru tt02 d
Hi - I ordered it from:

Est ce que vous pouvez faire un tuto pour montrer comment vous faite pour Drifter
Cheers! :O)
@@MarkBryanRC7:30 not that early almost afternoon.

Here is a link to one of the videos so you can see what we did. ruclips.net/video/wpW89puPEBs/видео.html
Cheers! 😁👌👍
@@MarkBryanRC thanks so much for responding! Just wondering if there is reliability issue with the XV? I heard the gearbox doesn't last long
@@straight_six7269 No worries my friend! Well, I've had my XV01 in stock form for almost 5 years and use it often. I haven't had a single part fail in all that time and the gears are going strong! :)
@@MarkBryanRC that is enlightening, hey thanks so much for your time, advise and thought. Really appreciate it 🙏🙏🙏

@@pitgeheimagent5617 Hi 👋 Pit and many thanks for letting me know about the changes you've made. Wishing you a great day too! 👍
Great to see you all. It would be cool to see a lunch box drifting 👍😃
Also watched your video on the audi quattro shell really nice work and has given me confidence to have a crack
@@cpbarwix Great to hear! It is a bit tricky but so nice when it's finished, have fun!
What made the difference do you figure, the motor or the cva’s?
Hi Rex, I think all the little differences add up, more power helps, as does smoother suspension, but the thick grease in the diffs also contributes! :)
@@MarkBryanRC ahhh, just read your description
@@rexrcs 😎👍🏻
I thought the only difference in the two kits are the drift wheels!?
No my friend, there are a lot of essential hop-ups included in the TT02D kit! I listed them in the description. Best wishes from Mark... :O)

All the best from Mark.

so is the most important thing the tire to get it drifting? i want to make my ol ta02 to drift. what do you recommend to do? :)
Yes it's the tyres that enable you to get drifting. Try searching for "1/10 RC drift wheels" and you will find a set to fit. In this video I am using Tamiya drift wheels - here is a link:

@@Martschy Definitely!
I have a question mark do I need a new motor cog if I change to a 68 tooth gear and can you get a metal gear

@@MarkBryanRC ah I see that's why back to the bat cave
@@tuffbadger7342 Hope it all lines up OK! Count the teeth on the pinion if you want to change it, it should also have the number stamped on it! You don't need to buy an adjustable motor mount, the instructions with the high speed gear set tell you what holes to use in the motor plate. Good luck!
What is the approx. max speed of tt02 and tto2d chasis
With the kit supplied motor it's about 20mph! 😎👍
Hello! Nice video as usual! Can a stock TT-02 be converted to the D spec? What are the major changes / modifications needed? Thanks.
Hello and thank you very much! Yes it's easy to convert a stock TT02 to Driftspec but cheaper to buy the D version if you haven't already got a TT02. Main differences are:
Ball bearings
CVA Super Mini Oil Shocks
Sport Tuned Motor
Alloy Motor Heatsink
AW Grease for the diffs
Driftspec Tyres
Hope this helps! Cheers! 😎👍
