    i'm not necessarily a fan of sasha, both as a dj and producer, because his music is not my style and i can't connect to it in any form. but defo i've got to give him kudos for that talk and his realistic and humble approach to where he has come from and what it takes to start out as a dj. good guy, this.

      Sasha says Lee burige and digweed are amazing mixers,though I think sasha is a much better mixer that burige and digweed,😉

    Always good to listen to Paul Nolan interview... cheekiness and just boss at keeping it flowing .. his masterclass sessions on MYT, he is a fantastic talker

    The real legend!

    Sasha is a legend, I would agree with the interviewer it's much harder to break through. Far more people want to be a DJ now than 30 years ago, so that means some serious competition. Great video

    what he says about Diggers and Burridge is a massive endorsement :)

    • @davidsikes8101
      @davidsikes8101 5 лет назад +1

      Yes indeed. What he is is being himself. Endorsement or genuine. I'd say he is a special type of guy that just gets it. Being cool isn't something you can learn to be, you get it or you don't. Would you agree

    Thanks for doing this Paul. I met sasha at the weekend in Cyprus - it was this video / simple tip about just having a plan and having a sound that has helped me kick things on. I meant to mention it to him at the time as I only found this in recent years.

    Ridiculous piano breaks and rave music? Tosser, it was these, and his residence at Shelleys that made him. Nowadays the music he plays is boring.

    • @PrimeM92
      @PrimeM92 8 лет назад +4

      +DERKIFAL Yeah, as much as I love Sasha there's no need for him to berate the oldskool stuff. Rave and piano house had a powerful euphoric energy that's hard to find in modern music.
      Also the vintage 90s progressive house & trance. Can't beat the early Renaissance mixes and the Northern Exposure series - some of my favourite ever mix compilations. Still have the CDs and will always treasure them.

      After 2005 his music went from creative to pathetic almost instantly. His DJ sets and track selection have been uninspired for over a decade now. Digweed is very much the same. Old Digweed live sets from 2000-2004 are all timeless. His new live sets are mediocre tech house beats devoid of harmony and melody.

      @DERFIKAL from a today's perspective and coming from a perspective of a younger, recent audience a lot of that early 90s stuff might sound over the top, cheesy, poorly produced and ridiculous. don't get me wrong, i love this era and its untamed euphoria to death, i've been to my first rave in 1992 but i do get where he's coming from in this statement and i do not see him diminishing the value or greatness of that era even in using the term 'ridiculous' to describe it.
