John digweed is simply the best if you don't have him in your top 5 DJs you simply have a misunderstanding of mixing and the music itself . He is perfection!!!
John, you are the SUPREME, in my eays there is 3 master supreme DJ legend's who from the late 80's to this day are the top-notch King,'s. Sasha, Garnier and YOU my MAN. PROGRESSIV is the key word. I am from Northern Sweden and i was hooked from the first tunes. Cosmic Baby "Stellar Supreme" and Sven Väth "La Ezperanza" whas the first progressiv TRANCE/House album that i bene introduced to ,and my mind, the way that i listen to music are from that point mindblowing, and just Cosmic!!!! I am soo in the 50's , and just turned back to the 20's so i think about all comments about how this music changed there life and so many times they have trippin to this out on raves ,music whas so mouch more when we where Youngs bla, bla... I Always in gett new music but in the 90's in Sweden who know's what trance/techno and house was, you know what you know , so when you wanna know more ,no way. All media in Sweden puts the big DROG label on music where Youngs dance, and when we not drink so mouch, but was so uplifted and happy, that must be something wrong and the media and so many says the techno music whas so dangerous, dance hard and only drink water, not in Sweden.. BUT IT'S JUST LIFE, Dance all night and Sleep all Day. John, you gonna get your Chans to, melt the Swedish bluesheart's, your moody sensitiv music is the medicine to get the Sweden in the terme House/Trance, R.I.P. Avicii BUT your music whas NOT HOUSE 🙄😜🤩😍💯🆒️🆓️ JOHN you gonna be Contact, remember my profile, i is this ☺️🙂🤗😍
I can say without any doubt that John Digweed isn't just like a casual Dj he is a legend. I've never heard so amazing music like that. And for me personal he is number one and always will be. Every track is different with own sense.
I loved Transitions in the early days of the show, then I lost touch with it for many years. After recently coming back to it, I was amazed that despite how much I used to love the show and my nostalgia for its "golden years", I found that the show is now better than ever! It's rare that an icon remains at the top of their game for so long, but John Digweed has done exactly that
"Grooving and rocking are two different things" ... John Digweed was always a master of this, he would tease and tempt over a 4 hour set (and longer) until you were eating out the palm of his hand ... He just had this ability to keep the grooves going and every now and then would drop an absolute banger with an amazing bass line or vocal and then wind it back a bit ... I had some of my best nights jumping around to this guys sets.
It was 1996 when I first heard Danny Tenaglia and shortly after John digweed and I was hooked forever. These 2 have been the true pioneers of electronic music and culture!
Always remember getting up at 2 am to listen to him back in 1994 and he dropped Paterson & Price - Audio Lemon into his set , ended up buying 3 copies of it , what a mix they was , He’s one of handful of DJs who have been successful and still want to mix his set in to perfection and allow to crowd to appreciate the effort he puts into his sets . Such a humble guy , never met him but you can tell he’s down to earth . A true Legend in my eyes of electronic music and Although his music style has changed since 1994 he still knows what a superb tune sounds like .
I've been sucked into his trance since 1999 !!! I just want to know how the hell has he been doing this for like 30 years now non stop??? I would love to see a week in the life of john digweed.
4:30. So important what he is describing. This is what I remember seeing going to an event in the early 2000. Walk in and it progresses slowly to the main event. The dj in the early sets new how to set the mood and the djs at the end closed with the right sound. Go to EDC now and you got big room bangers at 3pm. Digweed and the like of his era are masters of the craft. Their quality is untouched to this day. Been to hundreds of shows in 20 yrs and the 10 or so that I saw Digweed were the best. Just saw him last year in Los Angeles and it was amazing. Just as good as when I saw him with Sasha during the Communication Tour sum 15 yrs ago. Thank you Bedrock for such good music!
Club Hyperia in Houston will go down as the best night ever. John came on at 12am and played until 9am and chatted with the few left in the club. Was March 17th 2001 St Patricks day on a Saturday night. Had the lucky number 13 on his shirt. Killed it.
Ive gained so much more respect for Digweed after watching this, so much to him and his dj'ing that I have never realized. He has a lot more to offer in his music than a lot of other dj's out there. I really think other dj's need to learn from this man. One that truly is in it for the love of the music.
a true analysis of a genius mind..a real pioneer and music enthusiast.i remember in one of a dozen gigs i've seen you smashing it in greece i was carrying 2 of your latest cds at the time the reissue of legendary renaissance 3cd and your choice cd.you looked at me with a big thank you smile and draw me 2 smiling faces.i never dared to ask for a photo..bcz i didn't have to..thank you for always pushing things forward and providing us the best music around..
Mr Digweed, I have entered my 40's. Now with an established preference culturally in music for EDM amongst a vast variety from classical, to rock, New age, jazz, to world and everything in between. I grew up with an open exposure to EDM since 1985. Techno, Happy Rave which now seems ridiculous but hey, It was music that stimulated my ears. Fast forward to GU Los Angeles. I had a pair of nice JBL L100 speakers with a high end Amplifier as the importance of detail in music was to be respected as close to the artist view in productions. That was the day A dj became a producer, a genius and a Mozart of electrical parallels for me. Now we have David Getabeat, Trouse, Dub etc. Most arouses the notion of puncturing ones own eardrum. But, I still support the evolution and bedrock (no pun intended) currently because if you gave birth to the creation of a standard for quality, melodic dreams and professionalism in music. A level all on your own to which I still hold every new producer I hear. You. Nick Warren, Sasha, Oakenfold. are the dream team that put EDM on the map. Most are not awaee of the fact that EDM IS TODAY the fastest and most popular, growing genre to date. Thank You Mr Digweed, For had it not been for you, The world of EDM would not be where it is today. Eternally grateful for your absolute genius with style and phonically graced existence in our world. Regards, Paul
@17:35 when My Black Dog - Guttersylz alt dub remix comes in, oh man. Blew my head off with that transition and build up. Of course the track choice in John's doco is perfect.
John, pleased release more Live in sets ,like Live in Montreal or Live in Brooklyn....the best sets ever...Those stuff will be alive forever!!!! Thankyou for what you’re doing
I like quite a few djs but Digweed and Sasha seemed to be able to have the ability to bring crowds up at certain parts of their mixes and really controlled the crowds 🙏
Digweed siempre fue supremo en Sudamerica. Me encanta verlo haciendo música callejera en Montevideo, tocando en un museo, con sus vinilos, cds. Buenos Aires rocks!!!! always rocks, pero Rio se pone heavy, fuerte
6 min - Mutant Clan - Persuader (Psycatron Remix) 20 min - Suicide Sports Club - My Black Dog 26 min - Giorgos Gatzigristos - Binary Star System (Original Mix)
