@@dj_justanotheruser_yt main character from l.a. noire lol
If anyone were to ever play the late great Herb Kent in a film, it would only make sense for Kenny to do so... his voice & his diction are very similar, along w the musical & historical knowledge and reference
Legend!
D fo life wut up doe!!!!
Came here after his performance in Los Santos 😉😉😉

This is the most greatest, truest comment on RUclips
I remember going to raves in the 90's listening to this dude... Now he's in GTA online 🤣
"we didn't look at the dj"
waiting for that to come back around.
Music first ,dj is important but ...some of the dj be com a celebrity cos the change records well ....nice ...fuck that ,music is the no 1
Yeah....we've been talking about this really since 2005-ish...maybe earlier. Playing in the 80's and 90's all about the music and the system. Half the time nobody knew who was playing or what some DJ's looked like or any of that shit. Everyone went to same parties to have fun and dance with each other. No one was standing around looking at the DJ. Shit, no one was even facing that general direction much of the time. It's ridiculous what it's become. This hyper-sensationalized festival driven culture has negatively impacted everything....including the underground. Hopefully, post covid, we'll start to see more underground, grittier things going on...with less concern of the "DJ" and be grateful to back out dancing with their friends and sharing a common thread with strangers. One good thing about covid, is it bankrupted a lot of these cheesy rubbish festivals. Might actually be the fest thing that happened.
@@floordoctor Yeah menn I feel you. I went to an underground party recently, it was all fun. I only saw 2 people use their phones.
I don’t think he’ll be going back to Detroit, the contracts in LS pay too much
))))
Nothing like Home
obviously he doesn't know kdj.
This felt like an interview with Kenny Dixon Jr.
We usually get an interview with "Moodymann".
It was cool.
Because they went to him instead of the other way around. Plus, no stupid questions about his gear.
Theo and Moody are Detroit’s heavy hitters
duh.
Thank you Rockstar for introducing me to such a legendary artist.
Didn’t know he was a real person 😅 untill a few mins ago
Me too, Thanks to R* I found out that he's a house, dance music legend. Great dude.
Unfortunetly Rockstar made his character cringe, and he also doesnt like that
@@thepostalteenager2206 I thought I saw an interview with him where he says he is sort of entertained by people being annoyed by his character because he gets to piss people off forever lol
Yes Sir
Who's here after GTAV Tuners update?
So this is the guy who calls me a mother fucker while I rob some banks for him
Rest in peace amp fiddler 🙏🏾🕊

This guys voice is so annoying, man's ruined tuners.
Hes in gtav now
Why is that everytime a music legend is on the scene gilles Peterson is always involved?
Legends interview legends
He’s everywhere.
G O A T
Moodymann legit needs to do voice over acting
He does now in GTA Online as Himself
@@Majorkunsanagi and it’s fucking amazing
isn’t he sampled on that Drake album? passionfruit
@@ZombieLincoln666 Probs but I don’t think that there’s a minute of audio anywhere in the world that Drake hasn’t sampled 😂
@@ZombieLincoln666 idk but i do know he’s a whole lot more talented than Drake will ever be lol
One of the best. A living legend of the Detroit music
Cool guy in real life
Worst character in Grand Theft Auto
I used to ride my bike from 6 mile and Southfield to 7 and Liv’ to Buy Rite to get records in the 80s.
Wonderful documentary! Listening to Kenny's voice in itself is a blessing.
20 years ago, Kenny was impossible to get into interviews. The most elusive dude in the scene. All them magazines and shit, told em all to fuck off. Wonder what made him come out and play with us in the end. I fucking freaked when he showed up for the Red Bull lecture..
Moodymann brings out the beauty of Detroit Vibes. He the master at doing that. Nobody does it better. He is the spirit & Soul of Detroit.
MY dad and I went on 5 hour Jazz rabbit hole and ended up finding Moodymann
"waddup dough"
Even his voice is smooth
Moodyman in Belgrade its just MAGIC...the king...🕺
"Papa I'm A Millionaire"...Pozdrav!
Paris called him to DJ and he thought it was a joke.
Apperall company called to make hats with him and he thought it was a joke.
I'm seeing a pattern here. Kenny doesn't seem to have a big ego and downplays his own importance in the scene. This video made me like him even more and I already really liked him.
I'm kind of out of the scene and I don't spin outside my house much anymore but on the rare occasion that I play a party I still have _Shades of Jae_ in the rotation.
or even in this same video @11:00 "i most definitely would say: I AM THE BEST (with an emphasis) warm up DJ there is"
@@touch_the_sky knowledge of factual information doesn't mean it's egotistical lol
Hold up? Dis nigga is real
One of my favourite people in Music. A force for realness. Gilles Peterson also a gem. Sper well shot & cut. Thanks for the video :)
He is so Detroitive that He talks like a Roland TB-303 bass, true story
whaddup dough
Los Santos tuners
Lol I live across the street from him
Great Human. first and foremost. Outrageous master of the groove. Blessed to have experienced his vibe
Great to see where the records are pressed...Thanks for the music kenny
Happy to see Mixmag post stuff like this, amazing
Fucking awesome to get to know this man and the Detroit music scene more in-depth!
This video is what every Kenny Dixon jr fan needed.
theo parish next
basement borough then Jus-ed
Been gettin down to KDJ since the early 2000s when I was getting into all the areas of House, Disco, Techno, and Funk. I also am a gamer of course, so when I was they were adding Moody to GTA, I got so excited because it was going to introduce Kenny to all the youngsters and peeps who didn’t know him yet, so it makes me happy as hell to see y’all posting how you discovered him thru the game. So amazing. Music is love ❤
So this is the guy that keeps calling me mothafucka
Same
He's cringe in gta 5, and real life.
One of my favourite producers and djs. I had the pleasure to see him twice in Ireland and once in new york in the last year. His music is so distinctive. Thank you for this documentary.
Cool cool cool moodymann . Great source of inspiration for many a dj and true house deep house enthusiast
This was dope, more of this please 🙏🏾🇺🇸🇦🇹
This is awesome. I always get excited when he is in the casino night club. I would have my gta girl in there to vib to the music.
Kenny Detroit Dixon Rocks The World
LEGEND.
Best documentary on Moodymann. Legend!
Mate its an advert for hats
Hold on, hold on, I gotta start this record over again
HoT in HOT 🎉 GO BRO
Mentor, big up Mix Mag, my soul says thank so much.
this is wonderful insight into a reclusive master of the scene! Thanks mixmag, Gilles P and Moodymann
this is more or less just an advert bro
The one and only Moodmann
Met this guy in gta then I killed him
Someone will sample moodyman talking at the start!
And they will get sued haha. Seriously don't do that. Olly Dolly got away with it but no more. Leave Kenny alone.
Mixmag fuck right enough! Take heed everyone 😂😂 legend!!
Mixmag seriously mixmag .....
STFU
On it now!
He would never sue somebody for sampling him. He does the same. Probably he never cleared for KDJ a sample..
unbelievable KDJ says, sell this for 5 $ and this 10 $ or 12 $. here in germany or europe in general, they want double, triple or more € for the same vinyl.
always thought, i support them local vinyl shops, but even them are scamming.
no more sense of shame left. i gotta order from DETROIT next time, live and direct.
what a voice - great person - wonderful music and message and life
I had to confim this guy was real. This NPC is really fucking annoying in GTA. had to stop playing the missions of the vehicle workshop just to stop listening to his god damn voice
I love this man and his music
I'm mexican and i loooove Moodymann's music. Every f*cking sound he create it's pure gold.
The D is such a special place

That man Kenny made it in gta 5 yessir
One of the coolest people on the planet
So much easier to listen when he isn’t talking about sex
lmao ay moodyman funny af on gta v
This man has soul.
it was strange to me to see Moody without a mask, then I saw it was an advert.. but thanks nonetheless for the insight into the scene.
Moodymann every inspiring. 💝 his grooves 🎶.
Moodymann kinda looks like a mixture between Joe Budden and Jordan Peele
That collaboration he did with Theo Parrish - lake shore drive 🎶🎶.. Thankyou for creating such music
mathew still got that on vinyl
basement borough : Nice one buddy 🎶👍😀
Shit I ain’t hear that one
Yo What's good, Kenny
I love hearibg testimonies like this.
Only if he wasn’t so damn annoying in Gta
pullin out change at 4:26 - absolute quality
Tune @ 6 mins ??
Fuck me there is more to life than DETROIT. Creativity is universal not just DETROIT. Still dope though.
Damn who else thought he was just a fictional character from the game gta v online ?
apple loops 😂
To be honest. after watching this i got 2 thoughts. 1. Rockstar thanks for bringing in a house guy like him. he is good and interesting. 2. You kind of made a character out of him in the game that does not fit the picture im seeing here. so yeah. interesting.
Detroit legend for real. Him, huckaby, etc all top tier music royalty ❤️
11:37-12:30 Nailed it!!
Dudeeeee, that was GOLD
So...Giles obviously had a lot to do with why this interview was so good. Came to respect. I mean you got Mike Banks, arguably the most important ambassador of the spirit of Detroit - and our music. Finally got a lighter, more honest, look at Kenny and his life. No bullshit, none of that. Anyone who's spent real time in Detroit would begin to understand what it's actually like.....the soul of the place. People are blue collar, down to earth, gritty, resourceful, tough.....but kind, sincere, relatable, and just lovely. Everyone who's into dance & soul music.....the history.....and Detroit's importance, should go visit for several days. Great interview. Thanks
is true Moodymann sampled Nujabes for "Lyk U Used 2"? Or where was the original sample from?
This man sucks
Cheers from Argentina, mos def u r the best warmup dj ever and ur music allow us to do that in parties. So thanks bro for all u give, love!
What’s the name of the track at 9:15 please, And Moodyman is amazing! 😎👍🏻.
