      I met him at Coachella in the early 2000s and he is EXTREMELY nice!! Funny and a beast on the decks!

    Kids today will never know going to a record shop and spending hours digging through vinyl. That was my favorite part of doing gigs in different cities was going to the record shops and just listening and buying records. Hahaha funny how mr cook stopped before he said technics. Haha they don't know what 1200s are haha

      i mean a fair amount of teens still go out and buy vinyls, i go out to boston every weekend to find some, you can’t gatekeep the experience to one generation

      @@marxp956 all depends on where you live, access to records, etc. but i will agree most of my gen (2005-07 ish) don’t really get into it anymore. i can see their view though; it’s expensive, spotify exists, etc, which probably is a key factor in the decline of vinyl as a whole

    Love Fat Boy Slim! Saw him for first time in 97. It was a DJ set in Chicago when he was touring a Better living thru Chemistry . I wasn’t expecting a DJ set but it was great. Hard to believe he is still Djing and I think his sets just get better and better. If you aren’t having a good time at a Fatboy slim show, you need to check your pulse as you may be dead. Hopefully I will get a chance to see him again in 23/24.

    Do you know what he may well not be the best technical DJ of that period or the most underground but he did create a bit of a movement based on his music and across the board seems a really creative character and I think it's obvious he cared/cares about what he does. Respect.

    Man, Fatboy Slim... Him and Swedish Egil were the reasons I got into djing back in the mid 90's. He is right, djing back then was a hobby and I couldn't see myself making a living of it (not like engineering has done for me). There are times when I miss being behind the decks at clubs making people dance and feel great, though....

    I grew up listening to FatboySLim even though there are so many different types of DJ's around today, we need to sit back and remember the first guys. the ones who really started DJ'ing, Like Fatboy he is like one of the earliest pioneers, lets not forget other beggning DJ'ers "Avalanches" "Chemical Brothers" "basement Jaxx" the band of the 90's! even if you can call them a band, most of them were just a two man crew!

    As much as I like his music from the 90s, his current style just leaves me completely cold. And some masterclass... you will learn more about production from videos on RUclips that show rebuilds of some of his old tracks in Ableton Live.

    I remember playing at The Custard Factory and everyone singing along to the tune id dropped. The connection was magic. I was elated, i literally felt like god! What a night. Good times

    It's not producing if you just re-editing track,
    Producing is about building idea,making synths,making right melody,groove,bassline, and its isn't easy to make unique stuff. Because there's a lot of similar stuff out there these days. Right?

    The masterclass took place during burn residency bootcamp in Ibiza, especially for this years finalists. You are going to have to wait til next now...and register for spot in the 2014 program. More on that to come!

    not know such.

      +TheRdungeon In his past studio set up. I have an issue of Future Music magazine in the late 90s or early 2000s that he use C-Lab Creator in his studio before he switch to Ableton Live.

    And Some Of Mr Cooks Dj's Style Comes From His Northen Soul Roots And Records And Its A Bit Like The Early 90'S Too Were The Dj's Did This Think Called Cut And Past Just Playing The Best Part Of The Song On Vinyl "YES" Vinyl You Heard Right lol, Doing Stuff In 8th And 16th's Blocks In Live Is Like The Old Days With The Atari St And Cubase Set Up.

      Programed sets suck. Freestyle that shit learn to work the crowd. Preprogrammed sets are for fake ass djs.

    I like Fatboyslim and think he's a great producer but making all the tracks he plays out 128bpm :/ I'm sure someone is spinning in their grave and not at 128bpm.

      He may aswell just use 'sync' if hes just wanting to get other stuff done instead, at least the temp will change a bit..

      DG TV changing bpm in production probably sounds cleaner than live on a cdj. also, fatboy's kind if old school and likeky doesnt think about the sync functionality or what it can do much. it essentially is more or less the same thing

    Hi! Which one is the intro song?
    By the way quite strange him saying that you need to be more drunk that the audience, if Im not wrong he was in a rehab because the alcohol. Try to don´t mix the music with the alcohol. Even it happens, let´s don´t promote that. The music is a good "shit" as a drug! :)

    I'm slightly younger than Norman and could never grasp why he was considered a 'musician' when he only played other people's music? Don't get me wrong I love him, but a musician?

      He was bass player with UK number 1 act the Housemartins so a musician? - yes
      He was also in the band freakpower so a musician? - yes
      He produced music under various names in the dance music scene: mighty dub kats, pizzaman, Brighton port authority, Beats international and many others. So a musician - yes
      Do some research before posting your ignorance for the whole world to see forever...
