Love your video's. Please don't stay away for so long. I'm in surgical Tech school at the community college. It's scary, but I love it.

Clinical’s for me was soooo difficult to finish. 4 months not being in the OR sucked asssssssssssssss. But by the grace of God I recently finished my program as a CST.

Hello, i was wondering if you can answer my question I’m considering starting a career as a anesthesiologist technician or eventually technologist. Would you happen to know whats realistic numbers for starting salary i don’t trust these numbers online.

So happy to see you’re back! Thank you for helping us all get through this! Your videos helped me survive the corona hit in my area while in classes, that then turned to be online format. Your videos always give me a boost of appreciation for this field. If you don’t mind doing a video based on becoming a CFA after CST school for those of us who are interested but might be intimidated to take the jump. Possibly something on the new set up and break down during this pandemic in the OR. Thank you so much. I hope you continue to do well! :) best wishes man and stay safe.

Question for everyone in the field.
How important is to speak perfectly English as CST?
I'm asking this because my English is not perfect; English is my second language and is a little hard for me to speak it. I'm close to finish my pre-reqs and soon I be able to apply for the program. I really want to get into the program and get my diploma. But, that is my only fear that hospitals will close the doors because my English is not perfect. Thanks to anyone who can help.

So my friend is a surgical tech in a hospital in california.
She has been written up three times for attendance now by a supervisor who does not like her at all, twice because she had to have actual surgery and needed time off and the first time because of a silly misunderstanding.
So she just had surgery couple days ago and called in not able to work, supervisor wrote her up and now HR sent a message saying she was on an adminastrive leave and they'd contact her next week?
    Can they just fire her?
    What should she do?
    Does she have any rights?

We got lunch and dinner every day of the week! Even cupcakes and sweet bread 🥰🥰
We are doing the same exact process You are doing for Covid positive patients. We also have the recovery nurse come into the room at the end and the patient recovers inside the OR.

Im currently finishing my prereq courses for my surg tech program and i have to write a paper in my psychology class asking current surg tech questions about the job. If you could please take some time to answer these few questions id greatly appreciate your input.
    1. What was the most stressful or challenging surgery in which you participated? How did you cope with the stress?

-How do you manage your stress
-Does having routines help with stress?
-Do you have any type of routine before or after a case?
    1. If you have a disagreement with a surgeon or another staff member, how do you handle it?

-Have you ever been in a situation where because you were 'lower' then someone, that you didn’t feel like you were being heard? If so how did you resolve it.

    1. How do you deal with people from other cultures or who shared different values/ views then you?
-Have you ever dealt with or experienced prejudice in your workplace, whether that be with a coworker or patient.

@SurgicalTechTips Your videos also fueled me to become an SPD tech to learn the instruments before going into CST school. I have now been an SPD tech for 2 years and just started my first semester of Scrub school. Going in confident already knowing the instruments and sets used for various surgeries. So thank you for that. Also do another video where you are mountain biking and just talking. Really enjoyed that one.

The career is supposed to be growing. If that's the truth, then which job are Surg Techs replacing? (Like medical assistants replaced nurses in doctors offices) Or is the fact that there are lots of job openings for surg techs sort of a red flag that people mentally or physically burn out on the job quickly and find employment in another field?

@@a_vansyckel9800 wow that’s amazing congrats! Can I ask what’s your salary because I’m so confused on what the median salary should be. I’m Californian and it rlly varies here I’ve heard some getting paid like 55k and some travel techs earning up to 2k per week.

    • @a_vansyckel9800
      @a_vansyckel9800 Год назад

@@Melissa-rb6ct thank you (: it really depends on the area you live in. Places like Cali where the cost of living is higher the pay is going to be higher to account for that. I’m in OK and my pay is $21/hr. Travel techs make a lot but you have to have at least 2 years of experience before being able to travel.

    • @SurgicalTechTips

Out patient center may connect you more with a hospital and more opportunity, but both of those options would be similar schedule wise.
