You're right. In the comics, it's taken a step further, where Hell itself is an expression of Lucifers anger. The way he self actualized his "Devil Face" in the show is what happened to Hell. Hell was supposed to be like Heaven. But Luci was so angry that Hell self actualized itself around his anger and became the pit.
He got careless because he isn't used to being in serious situations. This was all just a fun distraction for him, then he realized that, without his powers, things could go very badly.
I love how the look on luci’s face when he saw his dad get hit. Like oh no she did not! I felt for god in this episode. He created us but never knew what it truly takes to be one of us. Talk about putting things into perspective.
I've always found it a bit odd that God reacted the way He did to Lucifer's devil face. He must have seen it before, though I suppose this is the first time He'd seen it up close, let alone through human eyes. The look on His face says it all. He's horrified, not by what Lucifer looks like the way everyone else is, but because He's suddenly realizing what His decision has led His son to think of himself. I don't think God ever realized, even with His omnipotence and watching Lucifer's "why do I hate myself" arc, He finally sees up-close and personal, that His child truly hates himself and it's because of how his Father treated him.
He DID say that it was intense to see up close. I thought he was afraid of it and then I rewatched it and you can see the sadness and regret in his eyes. If God had a hell loop, it would probably be that moment.
The complete perfection and infallibility that God supposedly has in Christianity is only to serve as comfort for believers, that there is some force that is completely absolute. A flawed, humanly portrayal is much more relatable though
I think it's the perspective of the invincible. He's been God the mighty for so long and watched humans come and go the he really feels numb to their hostility to even test his omniscience.
I love this scene because it shows that no matter how much animosity he has with his father, That's still his father and "nobody lays a hand on my father" 💪🏼 😈❤️😇
1:12 this is God experiencing fear for the very first time. for the first time in his immortal life, God is feeling what its like to be truely mortal. afraid, defenseless, vulnerable.
You see, Everyone is saying how heartless Lucifer is, but he tricks people into doing evil things and he’s the worst thing to exist but even though his own father cast him out, Lucifer still loves his father.
I guess you just do not watch the show huh. "he tricks people into doing evil things", that's not what the character do, never did, and he even explain that in a lot of episodes. The lamest excuse of all crapy human beings that can't see that some people are born evil, live the entire life being evil persons and will die being that way.

@@tomughaawomi6448 i’m sorry, I forgot that for people to believe something they either truly need to physically see it or have it written down somewhere. I’m referring to something that Lucifer said himself, that of course was was written in the Bible but because humans like to put their own words in it. What Lucifer wrote in the Bible was obviously taken out and erased. What Lucifer said about being hated and him being evil, him tricking people and him being the worst thing to ever exist. He completely forgave God many years ago already but God still won’t allow Lucifer back up into heaven. And yes Lucifer does love his father even though his father wrongfully banished him for something he actually did not do.
Ok that's saying a lot about you do not point a weapon at the maker especially when lucfer right next to him he may hate him but be ready your head to be ripped from your neck if you try to take the devils target of his animosity and hate he selfish like that
Besides my newfound faith in God, I've got to say: This man really did a great job by "showing the other face" even though those guys were ready to kill him. That's what we expect from god in the end.
This was so satisfying to watch. God, slumming it as a human, finally learning what it's like to be afraid, what it's like to feel pain, what it's like to bleed. He finally got a taste of what we go through every day, what He did to us. And for the first time, He was humbled.
I love this specific scene simply because it shows that in this universe, the creation of the world as we know it comes long before Adam and Eve and something happened in between. Which would also make a lot of sense if we consider that God would not see the need to tell who lived on Earth before humans, but would rather tell how he created it.
The last sentence is my argument against people who follow one of the Abrahamic religions and denounce the existence of dinosaurs, aliens and the potential of parallel worlds because “God never mentioned it in the scriptures”. The scriptures of any of the three religions are meant to be a guideline and contain only enough information to explain the said guidelines and some starter knowledge. All 3 religions also encourage seeking knowledge which they wouldn’t have to if the scriptures included every piece of information to ever exist. The more logical interpretation of the scriptures is: “Here’s some starter information, here’s how you should live your life. If you want to know more about my creation and how I designed the universe to work go out there and find out.”
I like this portrayal but i'm not sure why God was surprised when they were going to kill him He did have Amenadiel put the first curse on Cain after he killed Able
I don't think he was surprised about the fact that humans kill, but the fact that they were going to kill him, you know, the omnipotent and omniscient father of creation and all of that, it was something new for him.
He was also being successfully gaslit by one of his sons into believing that he was losing his powers. That's kind of an odd thing to imagine for an omniscient being, but the portrayal of gods in this show is less omniscient, and more like a greek pantheon. God was not all-powerful and omniscient after all. He just felt that way because he hadn't met a real challenge before. Kinda seems like a more believable portrayal of the testament to me, since God is written as having one hell of an ego. It's certainly interesting enough to spice up a boring cop drama and make it intriguing (though honestly I wish there was a version of the show without any of the procedural cop drama filler).

I would say its mostly a 1-sided feud between Lucifer and God, but I know times I've been in angry spats with family, and was still ready to throw hands if someone hurt them.
He's innocent. He's been omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent from the very first moment of his existence. He made the universe "mortal", but he himself had never been so. Omniscience is just ultimate knowledge, not necessarily ultimate comprehension. He knew HOW to make it all, and keep it going, but he didn't understand what any of it meant, to do so. He didn't understand what he was going to put all the life in the universe through, for his purpose. In this scene, he starts to get a better understanding of that. Both from the bloody lip, and from seeing how much his son can love someone, and how dangerous it is when he doesn't control it. And he also saw just how much Lucifer resents himself...far more than he ever really resented his father. . God's kind of autistic. He constructively knows the all the mechanics, but he doesn't "get" any of it.
After being cast out....after millennia of hate and resentment, Lucifer still protects his father. It shows that its not hate he is feeling but someone who was misunderstood and just wanted approval
Was he not the good guy in a biblical sense? Much lower kill count than his dad. Satan’s body count is under a dozen. God’s is almost the whole planet just in one tantrum. That’s not counting the time he killed 42 kids by murder bear for laughing at a guy’s trash haircut. Just sayin’

God slipped... LOL
He got careless because he isn't used to being in serious situations. This was all just a fun distraction for him, then he realized that, without his powers, things could go very badly.
Whoops
@@shottygod13 right, whoops. My forehead is sweaty, but my mouth is dry. And the floor is beginning to spin. Lucifer, is the floor starting to spin?
"Dad... They were going to kill you!"
"Yeah... wouldn't be the first time..."
I love how the look on luci’s face when he saw his dad get hit. Like oh no she did not! I felt for god in this episode. He created us but never knew what it truly takes to be one of us. Talk about putting things into perspective.
Lucifer: *fights with dad constantly *
Dad: *is hit by random human while he's weak *
Lucifer: ...NO ONE GETS TO FIGHT MY DAD BUT ME! DIE!
That's a son, regardless how crappy a father he is, still loves his dad.
He disrupts and blows the sting operation and all he says is "whoops". Makes me question my own beliefs. Some GOD he turned out to be. 🤣🤣🤣

God when his devil child is choking someone: Put the human down, Samael. No need for violence.

Listen, if I were a violent person like that, I'd beg for my kid to never fall down that path that I did.
*"No one lays hands on my Father !!"*
See ? He DOES love his Dad, they just have their differences.
I love this scene because it shows that no matter how much animosity he has with his father, That's still his father and "nobody lays a hand on my father" 💪🏼
😈❤️😇
1:12 this is God experiencing fear for the very first time. for the first time in his immortal life, God is feeling what its like to be truely mortal. afraid, defenseless, vulnerable.
He got to taste of what kind of weak feeble and fragile life forms he created
"There is no need for violence."
He says after the violence is done.
I love how despite how much he hated Him, he physically can't let anyone else disrespect his father.

The way lucifer talks about the dinosaurs like an annoyed toddler gives me the impression he really liked the dinosaurs.
No one lays a hand on my father.

This was so satisfying to watch.
God, slumming it as a human, finally learning what it's like to be afraid, what it's like to feel pain, what it's like to bleed.
He finally got a taste of what we go through every day, what He did to us.
And for the first time, He was humbled.
Why are they powerless right now if they’re literal gods!?
because they arent the only ones (and lucifer isnt a god he is an angel)
The more logical interpretation of the scriptures is:
“Here’s some starter information, here’s how you should live your life. If you want to know more about my creation and how I designed the universe to work go out there and find out.”
I like this portrayal but i'm not sure why God was surprised when they were going to kill him
He did have Amenadiel put the first curse on Cain after he killed Able
@@pirojfmifhghek566 Nah he’s written as omnipotent and omniscient, I interpreted it more like he chose to lock away his omniscience and not know everything, because him being tricked makes no sense lol

No, it's just that he had never been in danger that's why he wasn't paying attention to them, cause they're just humans.
