10 years ago we had a tree guy look at our willow. He recommended taking out and begrudging trimmed it. Last year we called a different guy to come and remove it and he recommended cutting it back hard…..the shock completely rejuvenated it. We are thrilled! Good luck with the quince. ❤️🇨🇦

I love the music and the walk-through the woods. You truly have a wonderful place there in the château in France. I am not able to travel as I have very arthritic knees and I just gave my car to my grandson as I had a stroke and I don’t trust myself driving anymore. It sure is a bugger to get old. Don't forget the beet tops, or beet greens... they are a superfood. You can sautee them (in butter, or with garlic and tomato), eat them on salads, in soups, or even in your breakfast smoothie. I LOVE beet greens!
Hello! I'm french and my dad also makes the most delicious bread. He makes a batch and then freezes the excess. So we can just use it as we go.You just pop it in the oven for 10min at about 140c and its pretty much as good as freshly baked. Even this way, it's so good that it gets eaten really quickly!

Amaury must finish a wooden vent channel system, and an inspection must happen. Amaury has been fire proofing the boiler room. The electrical control center had to be moved. Once the inspection is past, then all the new ceiling vents go in the kitchen back hall, and new heating units go in. I think there is a woodstove for the winter salon also planned. ❤
@@carolinegooder7091 oh-so not what the other person mentioned. I recalled the fireproofing episodes and it sounded like perhaps that was a step they hadn’t been anticipating or something. But that felt like it had been a couple of months ago so I thought that portion was complete. Sounds like they have quite a few more things to do. I know when you do things properly, it can take a long time, but will hopefully payout by working efficiently and lasting them decades with proper maintenance. I am also eager to know about the lake and if they will be able to start restoring that. But I imagine the Chapel’s complete restoration may now take precedence.

I live on Vancouver Island. Crocus about 3 inches, though no flowers yet, tulips about 5-6 inches, daffodils 3-4 inches, hyacinth a few inches, and saw my first snowdrops in bloom today. Yes! Spring is coming!

The olive bread looks so yummy! If you want you can try another method for scoring that can give you those great crunchy lips on the baguette. I've done it several times on my sourdough breads and it works pretty nicely. Basically you hold the scoring blade almost horizontally (maybe 20° tilted) to the table and slice. Also there is a great course on masterclass by Apollonia Poilâne who has the famous bakeries in Paris. One lesson I learned from her is that you can adjust how deeply you score based on how well proofed the dough is. If it bounces back a lot when you poke it you can score quite deeply whereas if it hardly bounces back you score only very lightly. This really helped me out with my bakes. I can't wait to see more of your cooking Marie! ❤
Oh! And maybe you can also get a proofing box. (Hehehe it's not actually needed but it's a super fun gadget because you can control the temperatures inside)

A useful tip when growing mint- if you grow different varieties keep them far apart or they will cross pollinate and all lose their individual flavours and taste ‘muddy’.

Put the can opener in the dishwasher they get clogged with paper etc ,it should work better try taking paper off the cans first ❤

I live on Vancouver Island. Crocus about 3 inches, though no flowers yet, tulips about 5-6 inches, daffodils 3-4 inches, hyacinth a few inches, and saw my first snowdrops in bloom today. Yes! Spring is coming!

The olive bread looks so yummy! If you want you can try another method for scoring that can give you those great crunchy lips on the baguette. I've done it several times on my sourdough breads and it works pretty nicely. Basically you hold the scoring blade almost horizontally (maybe 20° tilted) to the table and slice.
Also there is a great course on masterclass by Apollonia Poilâne who has the famous bakeries in Paris. One lesson I learned from her is that you can adjust how deeply you score based on how well proofed the dough is. If it bounces back a lot when you poke it you can score quite deeply whereas if it hardly bounces back you score only very lightly. This really helped me out with my bakes.

Oh! And maybe you can also get a proofing box. (Hehehe it's not actually needed but it's a super fun gadget because you can control the temperatures inside)

A useful tip when growing mint- if you grow different varieties keep them far apart or they will cross pollinate and all lose their individual flavours and taste ‘muddy’.

It is February 8 2024 and here in Canada in province of Ontario we broke a record today with 56F or 12.8C. with sun. Having Nic is a great help and a great tree trimmer.
