Amaury's mother went to an upholstery class with Stephanie when Stephanie was a teenager. Amaury's mother builds sofas. Stephanie showed Philip how to repair a sofa. Philip wants to build a sofa and a chair from the frame stage. ❤ Philip has spoken of this in the past.
The colorful paintings on either side of that lovely terracotta bust remind me of that playful and slightly naughty painting "The Swing" by Jean-Honoré Fragonard ...that depict the lady swinging high under a tree exposing her voluminous skirts and underskirts and stockings ...as she flings one of her slippers with abandon into the air. Just below her lying incongruously on the ground is a young dandy gazing rapturously at her dainty (unshod) foot and ankles, and into the enticingly shadowy void beneath her billowing gown and undergarments. Oh my! How 'French' can you get (?) ...how perfect these painting would be on either side of your exquisite terracotta, Stephanie, in your French salon!! 🩰⚜💃
Yes it was so good to see Ash and Terry hanging out with everyone… I hope Stephanie and Phillip get to tour their chateau too once the last suite is done❤
Stephanie, I love how seamlessly you incorporate each video with a history lesson. I'm awestruck by the divine artifacts you've selected for us to view.
When you first showed us the Bust! I thought Oh my gosh! Stephanie, you have to get that! I am so glad you got it, I’m very happy she found a home at Lalande! Cannot wait until the work begins and is finished and I see her in place!! Great Video had so much fun looking at all the neat stuff with you. Thank You for all you do Stephanie You are truly a beautiful person inside and out.
I could not watch any of the Chateau Diaries, because I was so sick. When I woke up, I have been on a marathon. This brings so much happiness in my life.
🙏💗💞💖 ...similar story here ...but I got a more in-depth diagnosis from my doctor recently after some very expensive testing. Lyme is multi-faceted in its deviant talent for hiding deep in one's tissue & even bones. Hope you are on the up-swing!
The sculpture is beautiful - I would have wanted her too! The museum was amazing! Your room at the chateau was beautiful and exquisitely decorated - loved the bright colors! Thanks for taking us along, such an enjoyable day you all had! xo
the terra cotta bust is so lovely - it will look wonderful in the grand salon so sad its taking so long with all the reconstruction needed before it can be finished - she will be a perfect addition!!
The moment you showed that terracotta bust, I thought that if it was at all affordable, you had to get it for the grand salon. Such perfect pieces seldom come along. The sofa frame is glorious, and I suspect that Philip will be very busy bringing it back to life. One more talent to add to his ever-growing skill set. This was a delightful episode!
Fabulous antiques, I thought Stephanie might have bought the boxed gold and white porcelain for Phillip for Christmas….but you can’t hide porcelain from him! The beautiful scroll desk which had toy trains on reminded me of my Grandfather’s desk it was a large 1930’s roll top desk with drawers. He was a building Society Manager from 1930 until he retired in 1965 but still did consulting work for them nearly up until his death aged 91. I can still smell the pungent smell of the wood and the ink and the ledgers he had.
EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY Stephanie…. I sat viewing this incredible vlog at times in tears. Stephanie you will never know how the visits, experiences, knowledge you share brings light into my life. The antiquing was as though you were bringing me into a candy store. I was afraid you might leave without the lovely boxed pieces, simply exquisite, I’m SO glad you took them home. Looking left or right in either direction there were simply BEAUTIFUL articles to admire and even covet! It was when you entered the museum and we witnessed the chapel that I felt tears welling up. I am a gardener on a minute (very small) scale. I have always cherished the earth and it’s bounties. To see the sculptures depicting trees of life coming from the body of the gentleman reclining (Joseph I think you said) brought tears to my eyes. EVERYTHING about this wonderful visit lifted my heart which has been mighty low here in the states. THANK YOU. THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH. 🤗💕😘From New England
That Bust! She is exquisite ❤and just right for La Lande, gracing the Grand Salon when finished. Such beautiful treasures you and Phillip have purchased, Stephanie.
That was a very successful day, brocanting and antiquing. You both scored big time. Patrick and Stuart are fabulous hosts and a wonderful couple. I see they made your stay top-notch.❤
I hv had to stop watching the various brocante shopping by Billie, Ryan et al because I cannot contain the drooling and the holding of the breath!!! Of course I can't keep away for more than 24hrs. I really love all the beautiful items I see and wish I was there to fill up the car. So envious.
It would be nice that rather than setting the bust aside until it can be showcased in the Grand Salon, that in the meantime, they put it where it can be seen and appreciated.
What a wonderful adventure you all had. The Grand Salon will of course now have to have an alcove for your beautiful, delicate bust. How lovely with all your great finds lately.
What a fantastic day, the bust you bought is just exquisite and I'm sure the sofa with monumental work will finally look the part too. I love it when Vivienne is with you, she's such a sweetie and I loved that she bought Philip that little mouse to put on the Christmas tree. Thank you for taking us on a really fun expedition today. The chateau you're staying in is truly beautiful and it was so wonderful to see all my favourite people from chateaus that I follow on RUclips there too, what a treat.
Stephanie, you have a version of the painting behind the bust in your house. I have one just like yours but it’s a crochet. The way you described the bust was phenomenal.
There is always something in the shops you go to that catch's my eye. There is such a difference in your Brocante's and our "second hand" stores. Mostly we have junk, but you have antiques! Treasures! Everything there has a WOW factor. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I love all your video’s but the last few have been so enjoyable. Today’s was the cherry on top! So many beautiful things but that museum is gorgeous and I love that you teach me so many things. Thank you for making my day.
Stephanie, thanks for the museum visit. I'm a retired studio art and art history teacher. (50 years). I've been to most of the major American and European art museums but it's joy to visit these smaller regional museums. Each seems to have a couple of gems in their collection! And you always share lovely details. 🥰
What a lovely start to my morning. I felt I was walking alongside all of you. Stephanie love your enthusiasm. Love you three and Phillip looks dashing.
A wonderful showcase of delights! The brocante, antique shop, the stationery and homewares shop and museum were fascinating! And the antique shop owner is very suave! Ooh La La! Loved your purchases. Can’t wait to see them in situ in the Grand Salon! And I love your room at Chateau de Colombe! Well worth a visit. I’m glad the gathering or should it be chattering 🤣 of Chatelaines continues. What fun and mutual support for you all! ❤️❤️🐕
wonderful to see also other chatelaines and Vivienne exploring treasures - great lecture on history of art , the hospice was stunning, too, how much they cared for the soul not only for the body , same what you did for us here - thank you ❤👍
What a Lovely day you all enjoyed the sights & tastes out & about together. To many lovely things to choose from, Wow! Creature tree additions are charming! My Creature tree is up with a few new residents found yesterday, a Felted Seagull with a jaunty touqe, white Squirel in hat & scarf & a darling little penguin. Thank you for sharing your travels & finds with us all!
Watching all of you over the last few days, I can see that you are all people of great fortitude, and joie de vivre, The strength that it takes to be a chatelaine cannot be understated. Bravissimi!
The broccante was filled with fun and a little chaos, the antique shop so elegant and organised, the store room was the gift that kept on giving. Your purchases are just exquisite with the porcelaine, sculpture and gold sofa. The tree sculpture in the church with Jesse at it's roots was just magnificent and breath taking. I loved your 2 day stay and activities. ❤🗿🛋🍽
I so love going shopping with you guys. All the beautiful objects de arts I get to see from my sofa in Australia. Thank you so much. Your smiles, giggles and happy banter just made my day xx
So many beautiful things. Looked like a lot of fun. Never saw a hot air balloon chandelier before. I like the idea. Loved that harpsichord. I have a thing for them. The Tree of Jesse carving was amazing. Look forward to seeing the beautiful bust in place when the grand salon is done.
For those of you who don’t know, the hosts of this chateau also have a chateau vlog called journey to the chateau (colombe) there will be more of this content on their page Wednesday. Patrick and Stuart are awesome and well worth a look
What an amazing day, the grand salon will look incredible, maybe your bust will be put into a panelled wall just like you have dream of so often. You really both deserve this. 💕Xxx
Thank you for sharing this beautiful vlog! I felt I was right there with you all looking at gorgeous antiques and wishing I could bring them home! Watching you is my escape and I learn so much from you 🕊️From Florida I send you thanks for inspiration to keep beauty in my life, however modest, it makes me so happy 💃🏻

Horns on Moses show strength, I’ve never heard that before. Thank you for showing me something new. The whole thing was unbelievably impressive.
