I left my phone in a cafe at Charles De Gaulle airport and boarded a plane destined for Beijing and then onto New Zealand. When we had boarded and I realised it was gone I came to terms with it being gone forever… until the captain came across the speaker that there was someone on board with a lost phone… I had suffered an injury and had a plaster on my chin and that’s how they recognised me. So I totally understand how relieved Stephanie must have been! ❤
Hectic travel stories always make for good memories even if they are stressful in the moment!

my husband recently left his mobile on luggage trolley, in Vietnam.half an hour before boarding he realised he lost it. I rang his phone and security was very happy to hear from us and bring phone to him. I wonder if that happened in our Melbourne, would he ever find his phone.

Just had 11 half hours of loadshedding in Cape Town yesterday. If we didn't have inverters wouldn't be able to work, eat ect.

I'm so happy to see you all together again. It's been such a long stretch for Percy's illness and recovery but thank goodness he seems to be doing very well now. Mummy has been taking very good care of him. Gerry made me snork at the very end.

PS… I have an UNBREAKABLE rule that has changed my life. I never,EVER, for any reason whatsoever, put ANYTHING on top of the car or on the car seat. The simple fact ( & definitive Rule of Life) is that I WILL drive off with whatever is in top of the car, & I WILL sit on my favorite sunglasses & squash them if they are on the seat. It’s been a pretty life altering decision that I am grateful for nearly every day.

Mummy & Percy looking great 🤗 Just a tip from a fellow South African. Perhaps get a few quotes for solar/inverter/back up batteries for them. It’s really awful, especially the 4 hour time slots. Loadshedding is unfortunately here to stay. But we as Saffas know how to just make plans and carry on! 😅💪 Have a wonderful time. Come visit us in beautiful Cape Town! 🌊🌊🌊

Years ago I left my camera (yes) on the roof of the car in Belgium and as we drove people kept waving to us as the passed by and we concluded that everyone in Belgium was really friendly. When I realised it was too late and the camera (expensive) had fallen somewhere so I walked back on the hard shoulder for about a mile until I found it again and again and again !

I’m not sure if it will work with hot tea (but I know for sure it will work with a creamer) to put a little butter under the edge of the spout so when the liquid pours it won’t dribble back down underneath the spout.
My father taught me that trick.
