One of the most underrated songs by one of the most underrated bands. I remember how cool and unique this song was when released. And it still is decades later!
Yeah. I agrre. What needs to happen is that some popular Netflix series decides to use one or two of their songs in their soundtrack- a bit like KB Running up thet Hill in Stranger Things. If they got that kind of exposure, they might have more chance of getting into the young gen's consciousness. I mean the songs are so catchy and the lyrics are super clever.
One of the most catchy pop songs ever written. Glenn Tilbrook & Chris Difford songwriting idols were Lennon & McCartney and they especially loved the early Beatles pop songs and I think they reached the mark on this song. Glen Tilbrook sang and played lead guitar which is not very common.
MY BOYS! A beach is the perfect place for Pulling Mussels. ❤( first time I heard this song i was on the beach. reading a Harold Robbins paperback ' Where Love Has Gone',)
What a great group. I watch MTV all the time, I Want my 80's, and they never show Squeeze. I wonder why? A contractual thing? Did they piss off somebody??
wow! my faorite band playing at my current residence, but why o why didn't they say substitute daytona for waikiki!! i should have been there to tell them, but i was only 2
Who is that on keys opposite Jools? Jools is such a phenomenal keyboardist, not sure why they even would have needed a second one? Was it synth because Jools wanted to just stick with piano?
I know it sounds like a well worn cliche but in this case its true just don't make bands like this anymore 60s 70s 80s conveyer belt of talent then the whole thing fell off a cliff .
All good eras, I'd argue the 90s was better than the 80s. Pearl Jam, Oasis, Radiohead, Nirvana, Alice N Chains, Soundgarden, Sublime, Rage Against the Machine, Counting Crows, Dave Matthews Band, Beck, Weezer, Alanis Morissette, Blur, Pavement, just to name a few.
Yes, the whole thing fell right off the edge and disappeared. As far as those 90s bands mentioned, I did not like ANY of them (w/ the possible exception of Dave Matthews). The rest that climbed up out of the muck you can keep. Meh.

American college kids rocking out to Squeeze! I can’t believe this actually happened, how awesome!

Criminally underappreciated band.

Nice! Back Good Ol' Days When MTV Still Associated With Real Music.
I was at this show, and somehow managed to get right up front. I think the band Foreigner played a indoor concert a couple of nights earlier.
The drummer is the workhorse of the band
SQUEEZE One of MY FAVORITE BANDS X when Growing up As a teenager. Still Love this Band Ice- Maiden. XXZ

Half the audience never got the sexual connotation in the title.

I think that's basically it, I've never known Jools to play synth/organ, whereas Paul Carrack was doing both
Let's not forget Paul also sang Tempted.... probably one of their most popular tunes
JOOOLS!! x
No cell phones they are. Just having fun
Jools is dressed like a cowboy
Band tension , if you know your Squeeze like i do
