    For today's video I will be cooking up diri djon djon,
    a very easy recipe. Haitian party food
    Diri ak djon djon is a native dish of Haiti, Black mushroom rice is more common in the northern part of Haiti can be considered a regional delicacy dish. When the mushrooms are boiled, they release a grayish-black coloring giving the rice its gray color and the dish's distinctive flavor

    4 TBSP OIL
    2 TBSP EPIS
    2 CUPS LIMA BEANS
    4 CUPS MUSHROOM WATER
    5 CUPS JASMINE RICE
    1/2 MAGGI CUBE
    1 TBSP ISLAND VIBE SEASONING
    1 TSP POWERED CLOVES
    1/2 CAN COCONUT MILK
    SALT TO TASTE
    2 TBSP BUTTER
    THYME, PARSLEY
    1 GREEN SCOTCH BONNET

    Great recipe. Just some advice my mom always taught me. Netwaye djondjon ou byen. Take the stem out leaving only flower. It will take 2x as much djon djon but worth it. Run it through blender too. Great job young lady bravooooo.

      I never use them. Im not sure how it will taste There's probably sugar added to them.

    short cut 0:50 just used e🏾e🏾e🏾MAGGI Djon Djon bouillon cubes - mushoom flavored 1 box (Its expensive but 1 cube goes alone way)

      Thank God Island vibe cooking, as someone's who has heart failure due to high blood pressure, I struggle to cook Haitian food because we used so much maggi, it's good to see you don't use that much of it

    your measurements seem to be off. Don't you have to use 10 cups of mushroom water for 5 cups of rice? what will happen if i use my measurements instead of yours?

    Boiled the mushroom if one don't have time to soak..
