My job is about 3 miles away so for 4 weeks now I have decided to walk to work 6 days a week. Takes me an hour and 15 minutes and about 8000 steps in to start my day.
I definitely need to get my steps back up. When I was a mail carrier I was getting at least 20k or more. Since I left I’m not getting anywhere near that
I started walking every day about two weeks ago. At first it was just 30 minutes up and down our shared driveway but i started walking on the side of the road for an hour a few days later so i could have some shade 😂 We dont have sidewalks, but it's not a super busy street. I'll see maybe 3-8 cars depending on the time of day. That gives me nearly 7000 steps and then it's pretty easy to get that extra 3000 just throughout the day. I have to grease myself up in sunscreen to walk in the middle of the day and it's really annoying. It's so hot I started chafing where my arms rub my shirt and even where my necklace was rubbing my neck. I even got a heat rash where my waist folds one day 😂 I really enjoy walking but I just need to make it work for my body health and skin health at the same time. I walked this morning for the first time and it was so much cooler but there were more cars since people were getting their kids to school and heading to work. I'm still experimenting with it to pick the best time but I'm not giving up.
I started my one hour walking yesterday It was easier than I thought But this morning I felt the most heaviest headache and high body temperature 🤒 but it stopped after an hour of good sleep 😴 ,I'm not stopping tho I want to challenge myself for a month
Hi, If you don’t mind me asking, around how old are you? Dont have to give your exact age- I understand that may be personal. I’m just asking to see if this will be just as beneficial for me as you .. I know age difference /hormones plays a part in weight loss as well.. I’m going to walk though because I know it has great benefits. But I’m asking to see if the 10,000 steps will work for me as it did you as well..

That’s amazing that you started, and starting small! You will find the best routes and times for you I’m sure 💕
At most rn is 1000-5000 on a good day. My goal is definitely 10,000
