I'm an avid walker, not only does it help my body but importantly, my mind.
YES
I am 93 and walk 2 miles in the morning. Feel great and better than when I was 60 .
👍👏
just retired myself so looking to keep my mind and body healthy so this video is a great start
Respect . You are my idol now
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🤎🤎
Great news
🎉
I am 80 and do have a step counter and manage from 4-7 thousand steps a day which includes one dog walk. What you have told me today makes total sense and I plan to improve how I sit, how I walk and do the walks before breakfast and after dinner. I hope to maintain or even improve my muscle strength and general bodily health and burn a little more fat….5’2” and 9st. Let’s see how it goes. You have given me the best encouragement to really do this, thanks.
That's great to hear. Good luck Roberta
I eat a healthy diet, no processed foods. Due to a temporary medical condition was basically moving very little during the day. Weight hardly moved. As soon as I was able to start moving during the day (5,000 - 7,500 steps in a day, and that was just around the house) the weight started coming off.
Am now starting on short outside walks and am seeing addition improvement in weight loss while taking in more calories a day.
Moving/walking has definitely helped me.
Appreciate the best times to walk information, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Good luck with your recovery
Awesome and so true I tried it and now I don't eat at all b4 walking, thank you sir
Excellent!
My #2 best time to walk is when I need to go somewhere.
My #1 best time to walk is when I need to come back.
As we always need to be going somewhere, I suppose this means plenty of walking. Great result!
Thanks a million. Very simple, helpful and fast ways to being healthy and slim.
Thankyou for this info just got a treadmill for the winter God Bless
Thanks man. I’ll try it. ❤
I walk a mile in the am before work and 4 miles after work in the evening. I feel great
This is a great video. I'm going to do it.
When I eat a big meal and feel full to the mouth..when I walk for 30inutes after that meal..ooo everything went fine..walking help everything
Thanks
You're welcome
Awesome content ❤
I work third shift sir. Trying to figure this out.
I'm in awe of this content. I read a book with a similar theme, and it was truly awe-inspiring. "Reclaiming Connection: The Journey of a Digital Detox" by Joshua Ember
Great video
Quick Answer:
Triple degree weather, waist trainer under two shirts and a hoodie. Speed walk for an hour
I work night shift. What should my walking schedule look like? Please help.
Without knowing what your typical day looks like or how physical your work is, I would suggest this. During your shift is still 5 mins per hour of walking. You want to extend the period between waking up in a fasted state and your post sleep meal and go for a walk in that time. Then following your main meal of the day, go for a walk to dampen the blood sugar down. It's essentially the same as what I already describe but shift it in time to fit around your schedule.
Today I walked three miles some day less some day more
If I take a small tablet and a capsule and hour before getting out of bed in the morning, will I still be losing fat instead of sugar when I begin to walk first thing in the morning? Thanks.
HI Laurence. It depends what the tablet is and if it contains sugar or calories. Essentially it is a rise in blood sugar that will trigger insulin and therefore break your fast. If it is just normal medication you should be ok but your doctor will be able to answer this much better than I can.
Would having black coffee without sugar before the morning walk hamper the fat burning?
Black coffee would be fine. Essentially it is calorie consumption that breaks your fast which would be milk, cream or sugar added to it.
No, because you're not having sugar.
Enjoyed the video. It seemed you were talking about walking outside. Where I live, there are no good places to walk so I have a treadmill. I assume I'll get the same benefits from it. Is it okay to drink water during the morning walk? I understand about other drinks because of the sugar.
By the way, I've lost 52 pounds since the end of August last year. I have about 26 pounds to go to be at a normal weight for my height. I usually walk on the average about 13-15K daily. I have neuropathy so I take lots of short walks of 45 minutes or less throughout the day.
Hi David, Yes water is absolutely fine, in fact recommended to stay hydrated. If a treadmill is your only option then absolutely, go for it. Only downside is that you will miss out on other benefits such as the fresh air, sunshine (vitamin D) etc. I would recommend varying the incline to try and go some way to simulating walking outside. Well done with your weight loss so far and best of luck moving forward.
Very well explained, only suggestion , wear a pouched underwear, for walk or run, it will, keep private parts in restricted moving, mode & help situations like Hernia etc. Just a thought. It’s cold ,I do over 9000steps , 7,days+ stretching etc. Feel great, restricted diet? I am running 80.
9000Steps/ Inside & outside together.
Does the body burn more fat when you are tired and still exercising (pushing yourself), or when it's hot outside and you're sweating more?
Great question
Tired and fasted or tired and fed? If tired and fed I guess not as insulin will block fat from being used.
@@felipearbustopotd I've forgotten exactly what I was trying to ask, but I think I was wondering if you burn more calories based on how tired you are. That is, at the start of exercise, and you have a lot of energy, and it's easy to walk or run, then are you burning less? But then towards the end of your workout, and you're hot and sweaty, pushing yourself further, are you burning more then, or are you just tired? (The rate of caloric burn: does it have anything to do with how much effort you are subjectively experiencing).
@@msd5808That I guess is probably best addressed scientifically as in, if you can measure the VOX2.
As for training when you are or getting tired performance is no doubt going to drop, which could mean, less effort is made and thus less fat is burnt. That said, there is the thermogenic afterburn effect of exercising, so not all is lost in ones effort.
IOW, get a dog. First thing in the morning out the door for a couple of miles of sniffing and pissing.
1. Walk before breakfast
2. Get up every hour even for 5 minutes! 15 after lunch
3. Walk after dinner
Let’s do this!
Good luck Anne!
Thank you for the summary 😊
Getting an athletic dog and living in a hilly city with steep footpaths have helped me trim back down to my weight and waist size of my youth. I feed him and walk him for an hour every morning, then have a very light breakfast. Then comes the pup's shorter 3 PM walk, then the after-dinner and/or late-night walk. In four month's time of having the doggy, my body is trimmer, toner, and all my body organs say thanks!
Anne - I agree. "Just do it" - Nike
I appreciate your encouragement.
Honestly, just walk anytime you can, at a time you can go for a walk most easily. Don’t over think it. Don’t use “best time” as an excuse. Just go do it.
I like to walk late at night because I live around nosy people who like to eyeball you like owls.. and it makes me nervous and anxious.. I already feel anxious enough being a fat person going out in public trying to lose weight people have to make it worse by staring... so I consciously walk at 10-11pm at night. 😂.. but hey... I agree with your theory, Any walking is better than no walking at all 😊❤
I walk to go places. It's just part of my life.

@@robmcghie5248I’m getting close to 60, and I’m realizing this. No one cares about an old guy. 😂😂😂
To be honest, it’s kinda nice. 👍
Started walking every morning starting in January 2022. Went from 216 lbs to 155 lbs and have walked over 2300 miles. I feel better than I ever have in my 58 years.
Well done. What an inspiration.
2300 miles? That's over half the distance to the Earth's core!
Wonderful! Congratulations!!!
The best time to walk for me, is WHENEVER I go!!
Practical and more useful than this video. Watch a useful video instead if you must.
Walking in the morning is the best for me just puts me in a cheerful mood throughout the day.
It does for me also, although can be a bit difficult to get out the door at this time of year don't you find?
Morning walks, is best for me, at times I do afternoon beach walks! I'm 64 years old in good physical and mental shape!
You're a Beach Beast!@@carmelaelliott227
I walk 2.5 to 3 miles almost every morning before breakfast. A good 45-55 mins worth and usually gives me around 6500-7000 steps right off the bat. It does amazing things for the mind body and soul. I can’t recommend it enough.
That sounds excellent Brian. Well done.
How many hours is that? Thanks.
@@gracie5870 About an hour
I eat a banana and then head out the door between 4 and 430am. I do between 10 and 21k. Then I have breakfast. I do my race walk marathon speed. I am 65 with terminal blood cancer. I feel great after these walks!!! 🙂
Please eat banana after walks
It relieves cramps of leg
just eat raw food,no cooked food, eat turmeric,
Wow, about 14 miles! 🤗
Well done you.🌻
Please do a video on how to get good sleep
As someone from Europe, walking is just part of my daily life, I don't plan it, it's just a normal @mode of transportation" to go places. I feel very lucky- we don't really have this culture of driving everywhere. I'm also a teacher so I rarely sit down and walk/run between classes all the time.
I went on a cruise over Christmas and lost six pounds from walking five to six miles everyday. I felt so good I decided to start walking an hour every morning. The health benefits have been tremendous. I switched to a keto diet and eat twice a day, at noon and 5:00PM to get the maximum benefits from autophagy and fasting. What is amazing is doing keto and fasting I am never really hungry. I may be a little hungry when I get up, but as soon as I get out for my walk it goes away. Exercise, keto, and fasting is a powerful combination to lose weight and regain health..
Excellent! Well done!
Never exercise on an empty stomach don’t fast and skip meals that could lead to eating disorders
True I walk every morning around 9:00am for 1 hour plus and I can see amazing results ❤loosing weight quickly 😊
I'm doing the same thing, just replace Keto for Low-Carb diet. Keep up the good work!
I did the keto years ago. Now I do fasting. My first meal is around 11. Sometime I’ll do OMAD. Like today my first meal was at 5. I walk while fasting in the morning. I had 2 A/fib and %20 clogged arteries and struggled with ED
I used to workout after work at 5:30pm I lost weight, but not a lot of fat. I switched to 45 minute walks in the morning before work and the fat burn has been amazing.
Very inspiring; thanks for your comment.
I do both now. Early morning before Breakfast and after my evening meal.
I’m going to try this. Thank you
I've been losing some fat when doing my evening walk after I eat my dinner. But it looks like it's a good idea to take a walk in the morning before breakfast. As he said a slow walk while we're still in a fasting state. My evening walk is at a brisk pace. It takes me 49-50 minutes to do my 3 mile walk in the evening. How far are you getting with your 45-minute morning walk?
@@Rhaspun9 g🎉
At 75, I walk 4 to 6 miles every morning. I like to leave in the dark and greet the sunrise about 1/2 way through my morning walk. I walk about 3.5 mph. I walk rain, snow, sun, freezing, and it’s too early to be hot, though I often have to start stripping down halfway through on those 90F+ days.
I also carry weight in a pack. Sometimes, I wear leg weights instead. These are particularly good on the hills. I had serious knee and hip issues. I was actually scheduled for surgery and replacement. That was 10 years ago. I spent 14 days hiking the Idaho Frank Church wilderness last year. Yeah, they get sore, but are stronger now and have regrown tissue.
When I started walking I barely made it down to the end of the street and back. Just kept gently pushing until it was no longer an obstacle. There may be other benefits as discussed in this video, but for me, mobility as I had in my 50’s matters more to me. I accept the other benefits, but the reason I walk is for the freedom of mobility.
The poster before me is in his 90’s. Lead the way, I want that same ability in 15-20 years. Besides, it’s good for our brains, cognitive ability and general acceptance of this increasingly stupid world.
Careful with putting weight on your shoulders, my Chiropractor says that when you're over 60 (I'm 68) you don't want to do anything that might compress your discs.
Couldn't agree more! My walking routine (addiction?) for more than the past decade is to log a bit over 2 miles upon awakening (before breakfast), another two miles over the morning (15-20 min loops around the building after meetings), a couple of miles after a light lunch, a bit more (mile +) in afternoon "loops" and finally over a mile after dinner -- all while working FT with a long commute. My BMI has been stable @ about 23 for all that time (67 years old now). It works!
It seems you have a great routine there. Well done.
You're a 67 yo beast!
I'm always in bed by 9PM and up by 5AM. I start my morning walk at around 6:30AM. Usually I walk for an hour. I walk again after lunch. Works for me, I've lost 72 pounds in 6 months. Because I have cervical stenosis, walking is the only exercise I can do.
With diet? Or just walking
I start my day with diluted Apple cider vinegar, lemon & moringa. I then walk 2-3 miles & then have my first meal by 12-1pm. This has helped me Tremendously.
The best time to walk is when you are fully awake and fully dressed. Learned that the hard way.
Sleepwalking??
I measure my blood sugar after 30 minute eating dinner 145 , when out for 20 minute walk measured again 102., finally found the missing key. walk after a meal.
This is very helpful; thanks.
I walk a lot every day. Yesterday, I did 11,218 steps, and the day before 10,349 steps. I used to walk before breakfast, but it didn't work well for me. five years ago, I changed to the keto-carnivore diet; then I became a lot more leaner, fitter, and healthier. Now I walk my ass off.
Well done Tom, Keep it up.
Whatever is left of your lean ***
Lol
Started walking 3 years ago, got up to 4 miles daily, 7 days, had some medical obstacles to overcome and heal from and now am walking 1 mile a day and hoping to get back up to more as I progress.
Very hard to start over. I was more alert and less tired when walking more so am starting over. Have some sciatic nerve damage from surgeries but am determined to regain my lost headway.
I HAVE NO CAR RN....SO MY WHEELS ARE MY LEGS 🚶🏻♀️I WALK 2 WORK EVERYDAY MORE THAN 10THOUSAND STEPS. I ❤ MY WALKS ITS THERAPEUTIC FOR ME 😉💪🙏💪
Excellent, well done. Probably saves you a ton of cash as well.
That's the reason why is so good for our health having a dog because we have to walk them early in the morning and before going to bed.
My dog is excited to go for walks therefore he walks quickly, therefore I walk quickly to keep up with him. We both feel good afterwards
I get up at about 4-5 am, walk for 45 minutes. I have a cup of coffee with some creamer, at about 7, then eat lunch (no breakfast) at around 11. I usually go for another 45m walk around 12 or 1 depending on the day. Throughout the day I'll take 5-10m strolls around my office depending on how the day is structured.
This schedule, along with a strict diet (overly strict do not recommend) has helped me lose 87lbs since July of last year.
Well done Justin, great results.
I walk at least 5 kilometers everyday day and stand at work whole day, it's been almost 2 years since I started walking (5 kms Monday to Friday and 15-20 kilometers on Saturdays and Sundays) and I'm happy with the results.
Hi I'm sixtyone and overweight I started dieting three months ago but because of my current weight and attitude to excersise I don't make any effort to excersise but I think walking may help. Your video is very clear and I'm going to give the walking a go 😊 thankyou
Thank you! 2 months ago I started walking every day in the early morning, doing 1h - 1h20mins walk, then few minutes of very short nap, then breakfast. Despite feeling great, still wasn't sure if this routine is ok for the health, now your video calmed me down for good.
Love this! Very simple. Simple is always good.
I love walking….it’s the greatest use of my time and mind.
I'm doomed! I hate doing anything (except having my coffee) first thing in the morning!
Me too. So i take my coffee and then take a walk of 30 minutes. Still feeling the benefits.
Not only fat loss you get positive vibes feel fresh you earn your me time in early morning walks feel enthusiastic
Absolutely! I couldn't agree more.
Fresh air and vitamin d
I can't skip breakfast. I'm a diabetic. I work out on an empty stomach, I'll have a low and pass out.
I am the same
i work mostly nights so i do my walking when i get up around 2pm is do you not think most of your advice is based around 9 to 5rs mon to fri ? i started back walking three to four miles a day
two months ago and i can see some good plus when i am on nights i can clock up about four thousand steps between midnight and 7am then i top that up with my walk latter in the day when i get up seems to be working for me
Omg the accent 🤦🏻
Since 1994 I found I could build muscle and get cut extremely fast by eating and then lifting weights without bothering my stomach. I guess I got used to it because I can eat a full blown meal and go for a long fast or slow run. The best way to control weight is just do something after each meal.
A really helpful video. East to follow and understand. Thanks for posting. Sincerely
Nice video sir I walk when I feel is best and it works great for me up to 1 hour 4 days per week , really helps with anxiety
It’s funny’ I was planning to start walking my dogs in the morning ‘ and then this video popped up ‘talking about the great benefits of morning walks ‘ so yes that’s the signal ‘ time to start walking in the mornings 👍
Every morning I drink 2 cups of water and i walk 5 km ti go to work I feel energetic at work 😀
That was great information thank you. I always walk 6am for 30 minutes before breakfast then I walk 30 minutes before dinner, thanks to you information I eat first dinner then I will walk thank you ❤️❤️❤️
I wake up between 4:00am - 4:30am, 7 days a week and have done so for 4 decades. Because it’s been so bloody hot this summer, I started using a treadmill at the gym shortly after I wake up.
When I wake up, I drink 32oz of water with a pinch of Himalayan salt and then go for my walk. Usually on an 5% incline, 3.5mph for 30 minutes. I get at least 4k steps in before by 5:00am - 5:30am. 6 days a week. I take Sundays off even though I am awake early in the morning.
I typically get another 6k steps in just by my everyday activities. I also incorporate resistance training two or three days a week. This routine works well for me.
Intermittent fasting and walking I’ve lost 30+ kgs
Excellent. Well done!
I liked ur v.d.o bnefeits of walk nd result of walk is useful I always walk 30 min. At 9a.m nd in the eve. 30 min. Everyday in my garden I love hearing ur. V.d.o thnx I m 72 yrs.
I just discovered your vids and find them extremely helpful. I have some questions. If I understood correctly, it's best not to eat after a run, but before, but I'm a bit confused about this. I can't see myself getting up early, sitting down to a bowl of cereal, THEN going for a walk. On the other hand, you're saying it's not good to eat right after a power walk - but how long should I wait before eating something.
Another question: what do you think about three or four 10-minute walks throughout the day, instead of doing 30 minutes in the morning? Is that still effective?
Me: male senior citizen in the U.S., 80 lbs overweight, desperately needed to lose it, very out of shape. Once upon I time I used to run, 10k's and half marathons. I don't think I'll every run again, as my aging joints can't take it. But, I want to start walking regularly again, and this vid is inspiring me. BTW, I didn't catch your name. Huge thanks for the vid.
I think you need to watch again. He said to walk in a fasted state in the morning, before breakfast. And yes, 5 minutes or more every hour is beneficial. He said his name is Steve. Good luck with your weight loss, but remember what and how much you eat is even more important! 😊
Try intermittent fasting Dr. berg here on you tube has a ton of vids on this. For example, get up, go out walk for 30mins/1hr. Try to not eat til 11/12 am/ then have another meal no later than 6pm. And don’t eat too much! Loosing weight is a simple calorie deficit, that’s all.
REZILLO. This is not what he is saying. Take the walk FIRST in the morning, AND THEN eat breakfast. In that way, fat is being burned rather than your “breakfast pancake” junk carbs.
What would you say about walking after a cup of coffee? Still before breakfast
I love the way you take your time to explain everything
Thank you Mel.
Of things continue politically, we won't be able to afford breakfast... a good thing. But it will affect not only breakfast but many more things in a NEGATIVE way. Looks like we are in for a serious time ahead.
Thank you for sharing your video. Tips are valuable & helpful.
What annoys me is my urge to wee once I'm 45 minutes into my walk. So irritating. I want to do another hour or so but my bladder is like nah time to rush back to the car.... I have wees before I leave and extra wees just incase but it still happens. I think it's a curse.
At the beginning of the video, you say to walk before breakfast, then later you say later to walk after the evening meal. Will insulin be released differently at different times of the day? This is confusing to me.
Hi Eddie. When you have no insulin in your blood stream, your body is free to burn fat as a fuel. As soon as blood sugar rises from a meal, insulin is released and will be present for anything up to 4 hours, dependant on how high your blood sugar lifted, and this will block fat burn and actually promote fat storage. The post evening meal walk is to assist in returning your blood sugar to baseline by 'walking it off' and so less insulin will be needed. The pre breakfast walk is to do a little exercise whilst still in this insulin free, fat burning setting. I hope this helps.
Best to get off animal foods (meat, cheese, milk, eggs, etc). See video "Cancer doesn't scare me anymore" by Lorraine Day.
I enjoy walking by myself so I don't rush to the walk clock time 🕐
I start my walking at 7 am. Very helpful too .thank you !
Best time. When you have had a bad row with your ex husband over child support.

Glad it was helpful!
Can I have an oat milk, instant coffee before I go for the morning coffee walk. No sugar
Temperature here is in the 90's every day in summer. 76 years old. Its not enjoyable.
I walk every morning from 2AM to 4AM carrying 8 pound weights in each hand, I guess you could call me crazy or an extremist.
If that's what works for you Lenny, then I'm not going to say anything against it.
I live in Texas. Morning is my only choice, by 9-10 o'clock it's to hot.
I'm a hiker and sometimes this is substituted by Nordic skiing (back when we had winters) or swimming.
Best time to walk is after dinner.. Or after you EAT!!!
You're right. I love going for a walk after eating, especially if I've had a large meal.

Like your way of talking n lik your face
I run and walk but I like running early in the morning and take evening walks before dinner
Thank you for a very informative video! Question: If I don't eat until noon, will I be burning fat all the way til noon?
Yes, if you're still in a fasted state then all the benefits of the extended fast are there. Of course, if your intensity lifts up too high then you will switch to stored glucose in the muscles but essentially the answer to your question is yes.
Really helpful thank you for sharing this
FAT is only oxidized (released) from storage in the presence of oxygen. So yes, running bypasses this process as does any huge exertions that makes you breath fast and heavy, so walking whilst breathing comfortably is key for fat mobilization.
That said - you can not out walk a bad diet.
If walking is prohibited, 10 mins on a stationary bike can do wonders, but once again, do it so you can breath comfortably. There is something called Zone 2 training which encompasses much of this protocol, and incorporating N.E.A.T (which can include walking) into one life style will / should be of benefits as well.
Very wise words. Thanks for adding this.

I am a pensioner/carer for my wife, am on the go morning till night, I play golf once a week, bowls 3 times a week, walk 2 miles there and back to my indoor bowls, yet I never loose any weight! I am a keen gardener and I am working in the garden off and on through the day/s, shopping and doing chores around the house keeps me busy - But still no weight loss! I eat what I cook - No take away crap! Healthy food like fish, lamb, chicken, lentils and rice, lots of veg and sweet potato's! The morning walk might be a try out for me, as being an x referee/footballer now weighing 13 stone and overweight by at least 2 stone is really getting too me!
Hi Alan. Sorry to hear that you're struggling for progress. Without knowing too much about you, I could suggest taking a look at your overall calorie intake per day versus calorie expenditure. Your diet may be very healthy, as you suggest it is, but an excess of calories, even from a healthy source, could still be an issue. Also look into the time between your last meal of the day and the first meal the following day. Ideally you want to make that 'fasting window' as large as possible. This is moving into an area known as Intermittent Fasting. Hope this helps.
Friendly tips: Definitely cut out the rice (unhelpful carbs that are comparatively high on the glycemic index), and ensure your sweet potatoes are only boiled (not prepared by any other method - i.e., do not fry, roast or bake them). Reduce the amount of chicken (99% is factory-farmed, and saturated with antibiotics, which are not helpful for human consumption). Also, try to add more fatty red meats (e.g., pork, veal and beef - organic, grass-fed/finished, red meats are best for good nutritional health, will quickly satiate, and consequentially reduce overall calorific intake).
I love morning walks, about 40 minutes, and then a bite to eat. I go at night as well, usually about 30 minutes. I feel better, less bloated, happier, and eat better. I am a diabetic and need to take care of myself!!
