Same. I fell in love with walking. I use to train for hours a day at the gym and I never had the results I achieved just by walking. Now, to be fair, I walked about 20K steps per day, breaking that up into three walks, but I lost around 40 pounds in three months.

I love this channel. I walk daily and cover approximately between 15-20k steps everyday. I start my days with 500mls of water. I add two tbs of apple cider vinegar and a half tsp of Himalayan salt. I usually break my fast around midday ( 18/6 hour fast ) with an Avacado and some Tabasco sauce. Then have my main meal of the day sound 5.30pm. I’ve lost 64 lbs over the last 12 months. No more pains in my knees. No headaches and after a recent eye test I have been told my eyesight has actually improved. This is my new normal now. It’s the way to go people. Find out what works for you and go for it. You will not regret it 👍

@@AutumnBates yep. I’m convinced that when I do a water fast ( 60-72 hrs ) that going into Autophagy is giving huge benefits. More and more medical professionals should be paying more attention to the benefits of fasting. It’s most definitely nature’s way of giving us the best defence for our bodies. Especially as we start to get older.

One thing I did a few years ago was to commit to walk outside every day. I live in a state with lots of sub freezing days and really hot days, and had to invest in some warmer layers and even headlamps. It’s helped a ton, and it feels great to come back after a walk in the snow or rain like you overcame adversity and made your body and mind more resilient.

During that time, along with eating Keto and OMAD, I've lost 115lbs. I gave most of the credit to Diet, but I love the walking for how it makes me feel. Once I went full Keto and got my fasting up to OMAD, the weight fell off of me. Any plateaus were short lived and I pushed through them quickly. It's not all about the weight loss though. I was diabetic, I have a pacemaker and had a heart attack. All of my blood work is better. I'm not longer type II Diabetic, my A1C is down from 6.5 to 5.0. My Triglycerides were over 600 and now are 85. Cholesterol is 156 down from over 250. My sleep apnea is better. My prostate issues are better. I'm simply much healthier and feel much better. I have more energy than I've had in decades. Without question it's the best thing I've ever done for my overall health other than maybe quitting smoking after 30 years.

I’m curious what all this is based on… And think it doesn’t matter when you walk… walking is good even when you are shopping or in a parking lot. Most of us are too busy to schedule walking… but steps can be counted by any fitness watch. I became smaller when I started counting steps instead of scheduling walks. No one has time for that… but she is informative. Just think that too many people make this harder than it needs to be. I think walking is great and thank you Dear for bringing it to the attention of younger people.

Good point. Since I don't eat my first meal until 2:00 PM give or take; this gives me all morning. Never understood the concept of eating first thing in the morning. However, I get it, most people can't go two hours without eating. Sad.

Wow, that's a lot of walking. Having 2 kids makes that schedule difficult; I need to be available for them in the morning, then I can walk for 30 min before lunch break, but then after dinner = kids again until they are in bed. I'm doing the best I can. Please keep the great info coming.

I'm Type II diabetic & my dr is against me doing the fasting. But I am excited to add the walking. Age (78), weight, & physical limitations have added to my sedentary lifestyle. I'm positive the walking - even w/o fasting - will be beneficial. Fear of falling means I'll walk inside -- at least until I feel stronger. Thank you for making me feel so encouraged.

Hi Autumn! I would love to start incorporating fasted walks in the morning. My one concern is hormone health -- I know that working out fasted/exerting too much energy without fueling my body has led to some hormone issues for me. However, I'd love to take advantage of that fasted fat burning time frame in the morning. Is walking while fasted something most women's bodies still feel "safe" to do? :) Thanks so much!

    • @lygiabird6988

Have you tried taking BCAAs? They don’t technically break your fast and can fuel your body a bit more if you have had issues in the past

finally, someone who doesn't say walking on an incline treadmill is very effective but mind-numbing and causes you to dread having to step on that stupid treadmill. I walk about 10k steps daily except Sunday on top of my 3 days of lifting weights and a moderate caloric deficit and it works and is accessible on the joints.
