WOW, you guys addressed all the salient angles! Totally would love a six month followup with the trio not to judge if they found it no longer worked for them, but to learn from an even longer perspective. I live with multiple chroinic illnesses and have been trying to get my physical condition improving but keep hurting myself accidentally, would love wto walk around outside again but that's a big leap from where I am now. I would like to move my body more with it being wholly enjoyable and safe. tysm for this awesome insight.

my PT recommends a recumbent exercise bike for the potentially similar position i'm in! you can move your body while still being reclined. rollators or other mobility aids could make outdoor walking safer as well. best of luck!

I came here to say the same thing as Riley: recumbent bike!!! This video actually reminded me how excited I am to have mine in my living space again when I move this fall (it’s currently in the basement, and I do not use it when stairs are involved)

Same here! I would love to know if anyone has had issues with their walk pad, especially if one has stopped working. That's what is the hardest thing for me now is justifying buying one when I haven't seen long term use of them. Scared to get a cheaper model but pricier ones will have to be some time before I could afford one.

So I love Sierra’s point about the treadmills handling more weight and one of the reasons is for some thing that most people won’t think of. A lot of people who are physically disabled that use mobility devices may still need their mobility device while they’re walking. For example, my 10yr old uses something called a gait trainer, it’s like a Walker but a lot more supportive. A lot of kids don’t get to walk and use their gait trainer during the winter or when it’s raining because they don’t have room or their homes have carpet. The solution that a lot of people use is treadmills and now walking pads but the pad needs to be wide enough AND for teens and adults it needs to accommodate both the weight of the user and the weight of the equipment.

    • @ambersmith2612

200 pounds is such a small amount of weight too… you don’t even have to be plus size or disabled for that to be too little

    • @GGMCreates
      @GGMCreates 8 месяцев назад

@ambersmith2612 I was really surprised to find out that my almost 18 year old weights like 175 or so and is considered overweight. She is 5'6 and an hourglass figure but looks healthy. My 20 year old actually wouldn't be able to use a lot of these because he is 250, and I guess I would have to work out in light shorts and a t-shirt since that is what I weighed in with at the Dr last and was just shy of 350? And I guess I would have to lose some before I could wear my weighted vest which is how I've been walking outside lately.

Im on my feet 6 hours, 5 days a week at work, and in my head that’s not “exercise” or “moving my body” that’s just going to work and doing all my little tasks I need to do. But then I have to remember that most of my work day *IS* movement. I spend the majority of those 6 hours walking back and forth sorting clothes and organizing things as well as working my arm muscles by carrying about 35 lbs worth of clothes at a time because I find almost a necessity in my head to be super fast paced with it and carry more things at a time and that IS movement and it IS exercise. Like what’s the difference between walking at my desk at home vs walking at work? Or what’s the difference between carrying 30lbs worth of clothes on my arm vs 30lb weights? Like this video helped me realize that even though I’m working I’m still moving my body and getting exercise and I’m excited to go into work tomorrow with that mindset.

I like the walking pad/treadmill concept. I have a DeerRun from the website so no issue with weight limit. I find i really like getting up and walking once i wake up for the day before work. I get my water and I play a game on my PS4 while I walk and it makes the time go by so fast. I only walk at 1.6-1.7 speed so its not super fast where I'm tired or it feels like exercise. I said i only wanted to do 30min but I easily go for over an hour every time. Its been almost 2 weeks now and i feel the difference in my mood and body like everyone in the video. Feel better, better mood, my body feels more limber and I don't get tired as easily anymore. I consistently get 10k steps or more in my day but i also have a physical job where I'm also walking everywhere. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to be more active and my biggest advice is to make it fun for yourself.

This video really brought me back to remember that movement (not necessarily hard exercise but just body movement) significantly improves our mental health. As a counselor I’m always a little hesitant to recommend my clients increase their physical activity because it can be a touchy subject (as Sierra/Jess/Kenzie all noted) but it’s really such a simple way to feel better during the day. The no pressure, casual, easy movement is the way to go for a lot of people I think.

I love the way you structure your videos and how you are so transparent about a real authentic experience and also things like toxic productivity and mental health related issues when it comes to testing things like this, and I loved seeing the highlight be on how it makes you feel and other benefits to this rather than just productivity in a work out sense and weight loss. Always looking forward to these main channel videos and I love the inclusion of multiple perspectives in all of these tests, such a genius idea. I love seeing the different perspectives. Dying to have someone check your set ups for ergonomics though 😂. I’m obsessed with my treadmill desk- similar to Sierra I definitely think it suits some tasks better than others. I don’t use it in meetings though as the side to side movement can make some people sea sick! 🕺🌊

I appreciate you looking for walking pads with high weight capacity. I feel these are perfect for those of us on the bigger side that WANT to walk and exercise, but with busy schedules that don't permit much downtime. I can stand up at my desk at work, but one of these would make a huge difference when I really can't get away from that desk, especially after work. Thanks so much for the time and effort spent making these reviews!

this gym I used to go to had a room where it was a movie theatre and had workout machines in it. I once was watching jurassic park while on the elliptical and used it for an hour and half and could’ve went longer so I can totally see how you get in the trance and lose weight while doing it

🕺 Fantastic video as always! I love how you touched on toxic productivity and feeling guilty when not using the treadmill, or not tracking the walk like it doesn't count. So many people, myself included, struggle with these feelings and it's so helpful hearing that it's OKAY to give your body and mind a break, that it shouldn't make you feel bad in any way. Loved seeing Jess and Kenzie, they are lovely and it was nice having multiple perspectives that people can relate to. Thank you for the wonderful video!

So I've been using one for a little over a year now and my experience was very similar. I will say that I have a full-sized treadmill with an attachment that acts as the desk. When I first started I did about 2 miles an hour and I would maybe do 3-4 miles a day. As I started getting use to it I found myself wanting to use it basically all the time. My energy was up, I didn't have the same brain fog and I was able to focus more. A year in and I'm consistantly doing 10-15 miles a day and I feel way better. It's really brought me back to how I felt before I had a regular desk job when I was fresh out of college and extremely active. Biggest advice is work up to it at your own pace and walk much slower than you think you need. Also HYDRATE and have a protein bar if you're going to just consistantly stay on all day. You 100% forget you're walking so you will forget to eat and drink.

I feel you Jess. I moved while starting bar prep and absolutely did not have the time or energy to work out 😅
Wish I could’ve invested in one for bar prep! But my coworker is a rabbit who finds treadmill mats and chords particularly tasty 😆

I am loving this group format tha you have been doing lately, It feels like a tv show where they follow different people. Besides I am very fond of all of you, so it's nice to see more of the people who are normally behind the camera. The representation this gives, the different angles shown, the the everything is amazing. Keep discoing that disco girls 🕺🕺🕺

🕺 I’ve been thinking about getting a desk treadmill but was honestly scared off by the weight limits. I didn’t want to have to go through the mental toll of having to find one just so I could try to move my body more. You’re vulnerability and openness about it all reminds me that I am valid and enough ❤️

As someone with ADHD, attending a Zoom meeting where someone is walking on a treadmill is hell. Even when I try to look elsewhere, the image of them bobbing up and down at the corner of my eye constantly grabs my attention and it gets my thoughts all jumbled. Please, treadmill desk users, when attending a meeting with neurodivergent people, turn off your camera!
