Imagine if their was an alien race that communicates like this. Their is a thing called Synthesia where your ears and eye are sort of connected so you can see sounds. What if their was an Alien race just naturally like that and instead of talking like people just made music like this and they could see what the other was trying to say. Singers would be artists of the highest degree there.
Fist-of-doom a race that communicates in sound frequencies would be amazing and interesting. And artist like muciscians and scientist of the sound would be invaluable
Normal screen: 60 Hertz = 60 FPS
Oscilloscope audio: 192Khz = 192,000 FPS
Damn.
CommandMan7 oscilloscopes don't have frames.. It'll react as quickly as you can change the input
i know, but because the input is 192 Khz, the output is 192,000 "FPS". i'm not saying 192Khz is the limit.

Normal oscilloscopes have a grid so that you can measure certain things. Oscilloscopes weren't originally made for heavy music. They were meant to measure voltages over time.

When you first listen to it, your first thought is “I really shouldn’t be wearing earbuds for this. AAUGH! MY EARS!”
But about 5 seconds later, your thoughts are “This is really good. It’s fine, I never needed those eardrums anyway.”

After finding Chris Allen, your thoughts are “This doesn’t have as clean visuals as Jerobeam Fenderson’s music, but it sounds more like music.”
After all that, your thoughts are “The swarm rises. We are one. Convert or purge all humans.”

This audio visual experence is making me insanely calm and relaxed.
This is still my favorite amongst all of them. it's like a message being sent into or from space with square waves.
Superb work. I understand the concept that you're effectively drawing precise vectors at precise times on the screen in order to produce these fascinating animations. But what I don't get is how that ends up sounding like individual notes compiled into an actual song. I mean, shouldn't most of these shapes just sound like a load of distortion? Blows my mind!
Calamity's !nf3st@t!0n ?
it's an illusion/animation
Actually distorted sound would cause a distorted image. Static creates blur and sine waves create circular patterns.
he has a tutorial series on his channel explaining how he makes music that sounds good and produces actual oscilloscope art all at once. mind blowing shit. usually oscilloscope art sounds like shit when played as sound and usually music looks like shit when played through an oscilloscope. this guy is talented and his oscilloscope music is probably the best there is although I havent dug into it too much. impressive as hell either way.

Russell's teapot? NIce!
Maybe, but I think it's supposed to be the Utah Teapot AKA the Newell Teapot. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utah_teapot It was one of the first 3D objects to be rendered graphically way back in 1975. In fact it was first drawn on a Tektronix oscilloscope.
