What you see is what you hear: The audio signal is fed directly into the oscilloscope, where vector graphics are drawn with sound.
Filmed from an analog Tektronix 5103N scope.

Reckless Roges hmmm..... what? that isn’t actual music making the video. That is a performance making a music video. Not the sound itself. #refuted ...... cuz ya know.... gotta be a trendy millennial that has to correct everybody.
@@arando4359 Read the description: the sound is directly fed into the oscilloscope (L/R->X/Y), so the art of this songs really is that they create exactly the graphics you see.

the visual fractal representation of a falling shepard's tone is the coolest and most overlooked thing ever
It looks how it sounds
Despite the fact, it's still quite impressive!

This sounds like something in a movie when they have to say something smart and hope the viewers don’t understand

*”try reversing the polarity and turning the thingabob on”*

This is a sine of trouble.
i actually already SAW this on another channel
2:08
That has to be the most trippy fractal i've ever seen
And also is made from shepard's tone, the most amazing thing ever
AUDITORY FRACTAL
Wait, how do you know it's a fractal? Can you explain this to me?
@Gamesational
Well, I guess it isn’t a TRUE fractal.
It’s more akin to a self-similar shape, where the shape contains a perfect copy of itself within it, like the Sierpinski triangle or Menger sponge.
@@Jdwzl the particular way he did the spiral, it isn't, but it is easy to see how one could be made- spirals too small to percieve turning to spirals too large to percieve- like a note too high to hear lowering to a note too low to hear.
I love how early 2000’s this sounds. Like I genuinely feel like I can hear this on the main menu of _Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2_ on my dad’s old PC.
Not that anyone cares, but I just remembered the exact song I’m thinking of is _Sphere_ by Humble Brothers. Fucking love that song and this gives me very similar vibes at points. Fantastic stuff

Right?!?!?!
I know right ?! 2:44 sounded absolutely awesome!
This is amazing! I've never seen audio visualized in such a way. This should be way more popular.
it's not a visualization, it's what the audio looks like when passed through an oscilloscope.
AlDeezy What's the difference? It's still a visualization. The dictionary defines "visualization" as "the act or process of interpreting in visual terms or of putting into visible form"
its audio, and its being visualized, left is x and right is y. i think. you would have to ask the creator for sure
Regnareb You are still getting visuals from the audio so therefore it's a visualization by definition. You are seeing visuals like spirals and springs that come from the audio so how can it not be a visualization?
jhhwild it is visualization, but meant to look cool
Imagine playing this on VR and going down a really REALLY long slide
Honestly I’ve never been claustrophobic until I imagine this and the added fears of falling and pitch black except moving green spirals terrifies me. I am man enough to admit when shapes scare me :’)
