Yep, you get more granular volume control at lower volume levels, so I opted to keep everything at a low volume and boost it in post. I might have overdone it a bit though.
@@agargaragara Ah okay. With that being said, if you didn't know, most emulators don't emulate the YM2612's DAC correctly. On YM2612's, low amplitudes can sound quite a bit more distorted than they do here. One emulator that does implement this distortion is the Nuked2612 emulator found in VGMPlay, so it could be useful to record the tune with that.
@@AcrosArchive yep, I actually tested various emulation cores and went with VGMPlay 0.40.9, Nuked OPN2, ASIC YM3438. A friend also made an actual hardware render, which does sound a lot crunchier due to the low volumes! ruclips.net/video/ugVc_iBSKgI/видео.html
This is what my humming sounds like in my head
how the heck 1 channel made entire music??? Fantastic
fecking awesome!
Super Good Sound !!!!!!!!
Epic
👍
this is so cool
You can do this with GEMS???? THATS INSANE DUDE WTF
AND only with one channel! Now that's just plain wild.
This is actually Furnace and not GEMS itself, but it uses standard GEMS patches.
nono i knew that, im just impressed at how much range you can actually get from those patches. Apparently time trax uses GEMS as well
Very fun! Reminds me of the Korg Wavestation. By the way, are the instruments here set to a low volume? The wave looks very compressed.
