Hi David, glad you enjoyed the video. I had previously done a suspension upgrade which had a 2" lift and when I did the Pedders GVM upgrade, the end result was a very similar lift...so I'd say there is a lift as well as a GVM upgrade.
@@RustysOutbackAdventures thats goid to know. Not sure how much you about engineering but do you think its possible to get a gvm upgrade with the current suspension i have?
I suppose it depends on what components you have used and whether you can get an Engineer to certify it. I contacted an engineer about the upgrade kit I had previously installed but without the original paperwork to verify the spring ratings, shock dimensions, etc. he told he there was nothing he could do for me. Hence the Pedders GVM upgrade.
Hi Andrew, no I didn't install a chassis brace kit, and one wasn't suggested to me by the Pedders shop that did the GVM upgrade. Would you suggest I look into a brace kit, and if so, do you know who sells them, thanks.
@@RustysOutbackAdventures PPD in Myree sell the bracing kit, not to heavy in weight and not to dear for price and also Superior engineering in Jandacott.
Hi markovski691, the GVM upgrade was through Pedders Suspensions and cost me $3800...drive in drive out. They took care of all the paperwork, including the weighbridge testing....all I had to do was take a form to the vehicle licensing center to have the Navara's GVM upgrade recorded on the licence papers. From my research, Pedders are the only ones that offer a GVM upgrade for the Navara. I'm very happy with it and would recommend Pedders, too (I'm not sponsored by them but their customer service was very good, as was their workmanship).
Great video, appreciate the work you did to put this together.
Thanks @Paul Camilleri, glad you enjoyed the video and it was helpful to you.
Very well explained mate 😎
Thanks Jim. It did take me a while to get my head about the whole GVM/GCM thing!
Time to sell my D40. Considering I have a family of 4 and want to tow a caravan. Thanks mate.
What will you upgrade to??
Great video mate. I am looking at doing this to my hilux. My main concern is that with the gvm kits there is no lift. Is this correct?
