The modern fight game needs trainers like Dundee. All I see on social media are sparring sessions where fighters are getting knocked out and trying to hurt each other - very little to nothing being learnt. Gyms have become nothing but dog pits.

@@michaelwong6050 true, the amount of volume they do without getting hurt is crazy. Light sparring really is a great way to build your skills. Fighting is for fight night, not the gym.

I was his only grandson at the time and I won 1st place in all my Karate tournaments just to show him my trophies. My whole life I measured myself to Willies success enough to where it drove me insane to be great at something. I love seeing him on here and hearing his voice. Thank you. Joe Louis was the most powerful and fastest punching heavyweight boxer in ring history. His great hand speed, especially in combination, was awesome to behold. He had a powerful jab, threw every punch perfectly and with wasteless accuracy. His right cross, thrown short and straight, was sheer dynamite. The "Brown Bomber" never ducked anyone as his record 25 title defenses attests to. Of those 25 successful defenses, 21 were won by knockout, 17 of those were ten counts! 5 in the first round! He also knocked out six men who held the Heavyweight Championship of the World. From 1934 to 1949, when he first retired as champion, his record was 60-1 with 51 knockouts. He held the Heavyweight Championship for a record of nearly 12 years.

Ali was great but he is behind both Joe Louis and Jack Johnson in the heavyweight division. Johnson changed the way people boxed e.g hit and not be hit yourelf and Joes record speaks for itself. Ali might try to dance around both men but with Joe Louis it would take one short right hand ( check out Joes highlight reel) and Ali, like any other boxer would be kissing the canvas and Jack Johnson had a higher boxing IQ than any boxer who has lived, Ali dance against Jack ? Samuel knows what he's talking about. Joe Louis also had a great left hook (best in heavyweight history) Ali was vulnerable to a left hook, just look at when he got decked. A prime Joe Louis beats a prime Ali - serious boxing historians will agree. Ali generates alot of emotion, but if you look at them both objectively - it's Joe L all the way.

If anyone is interested in boxing history, there was another great (mostly) forgotten boxer from Macon named Young Stribling that had the Ring magazine FOTY in 1931 with Max Schmelling.

RIP, Angelo Dundee. Tyson fanatics talk about Cus d'Amato, but this man surely knocks him into a tin hat. I read his autobiography, I Only Talk Winning, sometime about late '83. Pastrano and Pep were characters, funny as hell. The former looked alot like Duran, I thought. Guys like these I can listen to all day, just get opposite them in a comfy bar, make sure their throats are well lubricated, and let them go.

Maybe not the best trainer in the world but surely no one compares to Dundee as a cornerman, no one could offer advice, psyche up his fighter and adapt to situations like this man could. RIP

Whooo whoo wat you're saying 😢😥 not the best trainer. He's fighters beat the hell of all Emanuel Stewart fighters. Come on not the best trainer. The only top trainers white out lost are Floyd Mayweather Sr and Roger Mayweather that leads Floyd Mayweather Jr 50 -0 wins

For anyone interested, if you go to google, type in jack dempsey championship fighting pdf and you can find jack dempseys book on how to box for free, it is one of the first texts on the science of boxing and I highly recommend reading it for anyone seriously interested in learning boxing. Also you can get it free through torrents.
