Sadly, 4 months later and it's still in the backlog. Home repair issues, work, my oldest daughter's dance classes, youngest daughter's gymnastic classes, my son's Taekwondo classes, have all seriously cut into (eliminated) time for TT hobbies for the time being.

Love seeing another Bolt Action video out of you guys, always a fun watch. That first two turns were especially brutal but I think Robin made it worse by what looked like panicking with some of the moves he made in the second turn that really hurt him. The scenery was beautiful.
As far as how salty Robin was? As salty as the bottom of a bag of pretzels.

Great to see more people doing bolt action. 16 mins in and I'm going to have to pause it till tomorrow. Couple of points I could see if you don't mind me pointing them out... as others have said on the first two turns the Sherman is more than 50% obscured by the building and would of gained hard cover. Also fortunately it didn't make a difference because you failed to wound. But the mmg would of been hitting the bazooka teams on 7's (6 followed by 6 for people unaware of Bolt action), as the small team modifier of -1 would also stack with the heavy cover (-2) and long range (-1)
Congratulations guys, you just decided I need to kick my 3D printers into gear for making WW2 tanks and ruins. Oh, and maybe get me to finally build my box of airborne

A lot of fun to watch. I like the format of the battle report. I think you missed a few rules here and there as others in the comments pointed out. Armchair general time; I would've had the airborne guys assault the flamethrower team in the building rather than shoot in through the windows (if the flamethrower had already gone that turn). Cheers for the game.

Spotters and snipers can pre deploy if the mission allows it.
Always like to see some Bolt Action. Great table and game. I think I would have been salty too. A few rule thoughts, SS are fanatics, so if they lose combat fight on. Flamethrowers still need to roll to hit. Once a flamethrower squad has run out of fuel it is removed from the game. You may have been rolling for Panzer fear or you may have chosen to ignore it. An immobilised tank needs to check for turret jam. You may have done all these off camera of course. Look forward to seeing more Bolt Action. Thanks guys.
Thanks mate, I didn't pay for fanatics on the SS which I immediately regretted! Where does it say about the flamethrower team being removed when out of ammo I think I'm being blind as I can't find it.
Geeks Wargaming it’s in the 7th paragraph of the Flamethrower special rule. Pg 68 of the rule book

The houses were from a company called 4ground, sadly they will be no longer be in business after July. We have some buildings from Micro Art Studios which are similar and worth checking out

Can I ask a noob question, are you playing a scenario from your imagination here or following a published battle. I’m trying to learn bolt action and I’m building a box of Waffen SS & US Airborne, to add to the German grenadiers and US Airborne I got in the Band of Brothers set I started with. However, I can’t find a specific scenario in any of the books I’ve got that call for the army’s I’m building🤔
Its a mission we made up ourselves. We took one of the missions as inspiration and then altered it

The band of brothers boxset is great value for money, giving you some Americans and Germans plus a few buildings and everything you need to start playing. Depends on which army you like the look of most

That first assault was painful, you can never predict bad roles but I would of just advanced into the building and shot them at point blank. Hitting on 3s for the rifles and 2s for the SMGs would do a lot of damage and then you are in hard cover plus you get the +1 to wound from the building.
And that sniper really should of shot the flamethrower team instead of a rifle squad. Ignoring the small team and hard cover is a super strong rule. And it’s a weapons team which means it gets destroyed by exceptional damage which a sniper does automatically.

When a unit that havent been activated yet gets destroyed, do you remove a dice from the bag immediatly ? or do you keep going and removed un used dice at the end of the turn?
We remove it when the unit has been destroyed
@@GeeksWargaming Thanks! i love this mechanic so much, if only GW could get off their high horse, see that and implement it in wh40k. Games ending before it even started because you didnt get first turn is pissing me off. This would fix everything.

Can you fire both the mmgs on the tank and then fired its main gun? Did it have a pin mount on top? I thought you could only fire one off of the turret at a time.

When a flamethrower team runs out of fuel they are removed from the table. Don't forget that fixed weapons (mortar) cannot move and shoot in the same turn. Great game to watch though.
What kind of tufts are you using for your American army ? They look really great and wanted to get some of those !!!

When the panzer4 rolls to hit in turn 1 and 2, you didn't apply cover modifier
So you can help us learn and improve can you let us know where this rule is please
@@GeeksWargaming I think he means that the Panzer4s target on turn 1 and turn 2 looked to be obscured and the to-hit roll should have had an additional -1 or -2 penalty.

A little nitpick: "Panzer" means armor. "Panzer" is not a type of tank, as in "panzer tank." That's only part of their names; Panzer III, Panzer VI, etc. Then, some have other names that we know them by: Panzer V is known as the Panther, Panzer VI as the Tiger.

The Bunker at 47:20 with the LT in it should have taken 1 pen, no damage and the bunker needs 12 hits from a HE shell to destroy. Pg 127 Bunkers. PS: U.S. Army says Hoah marines are hoorah...lol Was a good Batrep enjoyed it, models and table look great.

Seems really similar to 40k, though I'm not sure if I like the random dice lottery for if someone can go for a turn, 40k everyone just takes turns and you can put more strategy into that

Geeks Wargaming yeah, so how much did all of this together cost? Also, how much of it did YOU customize (I.e. did you build the set pieces? Paint the miniatures? Etc.)?
We built and painted most of the miniatures, our friend did a fee for us. The buildings are prepainted so didnt need anything doing apart from building, which Rich did.
Great game guys, flamethrowers are brutal. I'd have a squad or two ready to ambush them next time. But best bolt action table on the internet... I'm not so sure. Some of the AB players I know go crazy on their boards. Foreground terrain is lovely though.

@@GeeksWargaming Don't get me wrong it was such a great battle report, sort of reminded me of starting out. It'd be great to see more. It's the mark of a great system that one player can fall so behind and still pull out the win.

After watching a few of these batreps, im starting to get interested in Bolt Action! Which army is the equivalent of the Warhammer 40k Ultramarines?
Oh thats a hard one... i love playing the Americans, we’ve just got lots of british to paint for the channel. Have a look at which army you like the look of the best
I'd say USA is the Ultramarines. The ability to move and fire with no penalties is great!

We would recommend the band of brothers starter set, thats what we started with. It gives a good selection of American and German forces, plus some scenery. Nice batrep, as a guy that plays Germans in BA for the past 4-5 years i would use minimum squad numbers, lose the MMG, possibly even the panzer as well!!!!

Nice battle report, lovely table albeit unpainted ^^' I feel it would have been nice if the german tank had paid for the skirts that it obviously has, even if it meant making it regular or even inexperienced.

@@GeeksWargaming The church isn't painted. It's noticeable because: it's big, and also it's in the backdrop when you present the armies.
By the way, which army lists did you use? There are so many of them it's difficult to know which ones are the better ones to use: for example there's a market garden US airborne list in the US army book (which dates back from v1) and the same force, but with a rather different list in the much more recent market garden book...
I used battle scribe to create the U.S army list and then double checked the points in the books to make sure they were correct, just to let you know the church is prepainted mdf from 4ground, didnt need any painting
Usually I will correct individual mistakes made during games but in this case there were a lot of mess ups... at least you eventually caught the one with assault rifles and smg’s get the same thing. But it seems you messed up on that first hit from the German tank on the panzer. Why did the Sherman get magically repaired after a turn? Did you remove dice from the bag after units were killed? An MMG can’t move like it did and then shoot. Math for shooting was messed up ALOT. From number of shots sometimes to the actual number they needed to hit on, etc.
