Wow, another TMNT beat em up?! That's amazing, they got the style and movesets of the original games (even that animation when the robots bite you)! I love it.
Surprised you missed River City Girls 2. I grew up with the 80's/90's Turtles, Mikey was my first favorite in character in anything ever but with that said River City Girls is by far the best beat em up I've played in the modern era, including SoR4. As much as I've been looking forward to some retro Turtles done right again fiiiiinally....I'm most hyped for RCGirls 2. I wish more beat em ups adopted their light RPG mechanics, it's an all time great w/o it but it adds so much on top of it. An X-Men, Marvel, SoR, Turtles,, Transformers etc beat em up using RCGirls RPG lite system would be amazing. Jitsu Squad is new to me & looks like it could be epic. A few of the others look promising as well. Great video and hopefully you're open to some unsolicited constructive criticism. I usually watch videos like these when cleaning up the house, making dinner etc. Having the music volume so much higher than your voice takes away from it all. I thought something was wrong with my surround sound for a minute, sat down and saw what was going on. You choose great music but you're the star of the show & provide good dialogue/info. You should be the focus & have your voice the same volume at minimum. Otherwise thumbs up & subscribed.
The animation on City of Rampage is questionable to me, the less clean of all the games shown here and the worst part is that's prolly on purpose. Midnight Fight Express and Fading Afternoon look super heat tho
TMNT Shredder's Revenge, Fading Afternoon and Jitsu Squad have my interest. City of Rampage looks interesting but animation needs to be cleaned up and hopefully it'll be on other consoles besides just the PC.

I’m not talking (Anything away from all the devs and all their countless hours of hard work) but I do think they need to rethink their formula for this genre, i grew up playing beat-um-ups on arcade machines and nothing has changed, only graphics aesthetic‘s, a lot can be learned from two classics, Final Fight and Streets of Rage 2, their success was due to collision and reaction animations and this was the 16 bit era, with today’s technology characters heavily emphasised on numerous animations and should look photo realistic with animated assets and backgrounds, attention to detail is key and always keep the 2D side scrolling linear approach 👌🏽
I only want the TMNT one and there better be a PS4 version. I guess if I was a fan of Asterix I would have wanted that game but I just never really got into that series. City of Rampage looks like the characters aren't even hitting each other, hope they fine tune that. The characters have this sort of 'cut out' feel as if they're just overlayed on top of each other so they're not really hitting each other. Kinda hard to describe but it just looks off.

Man, there wasn't a single game on this list that made me say "well, that looks nice, I guess." It was all "wow, that looks AMAZING!" from start to finish.
Well Double Dragon Neon was very good. D.D. IV was okay, but hardly spectacular at the same time. Hopefully Final Fight, and/or Golden Axe 4 (or whatever they'd be called) will happen one of these days at last too!
@@freakyfornash yeah I enjoyed Neon. DD IV felt way too much like an emulator. Like you said, it was okay. I think what DD fans really want is basically a Streets of Rage IV level equivalent. ARC is more than capable if they want to highlight the game.

Double Dragon Arcade game in the 80's was a great game back then 711 stores & most convenience stores had 1 or 2 arcade games front of the store. the nintendo came out & arcade games faded out
Fading Afternoon is a game from Yeo, so I woudn't set expectations high. His games look good in trailers, but in fact have one trailer worth of content padded with 5-8 hours of "literally nothing happens".
It's not on this list, but I am fairly excited for "Detained - too good for school". Mostly because it's one of the few in the genre to have pretty good keyboard support. Yes, I know, people usually play these with controllers, but not everyone had a console as a kid. Keyboard support is mostly neglected without a good justification.
Tmnt shreders revenge is best version of TMNT game ever ! story, music, 4 characters, ability to play online, lots of moves, super does not cost life AAannnnnddd its not a remake its purely original content VEEERRRy much based on original cartoons series and old video games
I think Fading Afternoon needed more time in the oven. With pixel art, getting highlights and shadows on your sprites is really important, and they have none. The animation looks a little clunky and they could have had a bigger plane instead of a 2D plane where you can only go left or right.
that last game though....i do like the lower camera angle...but damn near 60 percent of the screen is dead space. Top and bottom.....for that memory savings, can we get 20 percent larger explosions
man me too. i doubt it'll ever happen because after Charlie Murder ska studios made Salt and Sanctuary and it was way more successful. Theyre making the S&S sequel now.
