Midnight fight Express looks hella promising

Demo is really cool.
River City Girls 2 is my most anticipated game of this year. I loved the first game and the sequel is looking to be leagues better with more playable characters and more fluid combat.

“Fading Afternoon” is basically and upgraded versions of “The Friends Of Ringo Ishikawa” same developer too, so go buy that if you wanna try it early. Great game once you learn everything.

Fading afternoon I take it is from the same dev as “The Friends Of Ringo Ishikawa” and “Curse Of A Stone Buddha” it looks like they just mashed those two games together and turned them into one new game. It will probably be pretty cool.

River City girls just got a PS5 upgrade last Monday, great game!
It’s a good thing I’m taking out savings a week saving up for a ps5.

I have got strong Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku vibes from Fading Afternoon, unfortunately is not coming to the sony consoles for some reason...
Can they just revamp but keep the same 2D 3-D aspects of what we loved of fighting games such as final fight, street of rage, fatal fury, world heros....
I'm probably gonna grab all of these games save for the ones that are PC only, hopefully those particular titles get Switch releases.
Also.... why are most of these new games 1-player? Nothing ruins a beat-em-up more than making it single player only.

Jitsu Squad won’t be a pc exclusive.
It will also have an Exa Arcadia release as well, with new arcade-exclusive content of course.
Why won't somebody drop the hammer and bring back modern versions of Final Fight, Double Dragon, AvP, and other hardcore beatem up titles?
Been playing Streets of Rage 4, lately and kept thinking about Double Dragon and how dissatisfying Neon was.
Yeah they need to bring back AvP arcade. For that the best beat em up game ever created hands down

You're right. Nintendo, Atlus, SNK, and even RARE did Double Dragon better justice.
But Technōs Japan giving Double Dragon's rights to greedy Americans was a fatal mistake, good thing they didn't do the same for Kunio-kun.
Yes, a proper double dragon would be nice.

Best Games for console.
Other than Midnight and Sifu, all of them are using 1 or 2 generic animated reactions for all the different attacks... Too lazy! Beat'm up is about fighting. Taking a hit in the leg should input a different animation from taking a hit in the stomach or head. We did it like this in the 90 because of the hardware limitations. Animation is an important part of developing fights, nostalgia is no excuse for laziness.

So this fading afternoon is pretty much a Ringo Ishikawa 2? I hope the developer improves a lot, I bought the game right away but it was a major disappointment. Story development is way too confusing, you have to keep wandering until something randomly finally happens and advances the story. Combat was a bit lame aswell.
I think noize is returning in the sequel

A couple of these look like they'll have the Saq Fu problem of being way too intently animated for a genre that thrives on frame perfect transitions and animation canceling.

Streets Of Rage 4 has various difficulty settings.
I think River City girls 1 has an easy setting.
The Yakuza series is technically beat em up(Gamepass), You can select easy if need be.

@@rayharvey1330 Honestly, I'd like if they would remake classic arcade games properly. Like double dragon, Final fight, TMNT arcade, X-Men, Altered Beast. Modern day engine on these classics would be awesome. SOR? It was meh in the 90's as a teenager. The remake? Didn't really appeal to me personally. I was bored after 2 day's and stopped playing altogether.
What is it with people putting SOR on a pedestal like there weren't other great beat em ups during its time? Like I get the appeal, but it wasn't really groundbreaking in terms of originality and characters.

What is this with beat em ups taking this anime route and only about female lead characters? I thought I was just being an a hole, but no, read up on any beat up up being developed and like 95% of them are female leads and anime-ish.

Many interesting games, but this anime visual is really off putting to me, specially when I think about Beat'n'ups. Better to try a realistic vibe with pixel art, than these annoying hyper stylized art.
The male designs vary, but the females are all school girls or take the "sexy/badass/muscles" approach ,lol.

A lot of these games are coming only to PC. Guess these devs don't care about money or mass exposure. Anyway, definitely looking forward to Jitsu Squad, SIFU, TMNT, and River City Girls 2. The others looks good, but only on PC (which I don't play on).
