Compared to Troublemaker and Bully, Lost Judgment did have an insanely badass story twist when it came to bullying.

Cool. At a recent steam festival, I played the demo of another potentially good game - Arnold Bounty Hunter. It looks more like the first Battletoads - there are not only fights, but also various adventures with platforming, hydrocycles. It also looks interesting. I liked the demo.

In my experience, I don't think there will be anything as good and innovative in the beat'em up genre as Skinny & Franko: Fists Of Violence for a long, long time.
what sets it apart for you? I tried the demo and found myself bored but maybe it's worth another look
@@mightygil9210 This game is so different and so daring like no other. Over 40 punches, grabs and interactions for each player. A brutal, complex combat system unlike any other game. It is enough to know the combat system and know all the moves, and only then the game shows what it is. I posted some gameplay videos on my channel. Arcade mode is coming soon. This game is a real gem in this genre for me.
Wow, you are so narrow minded...also, there were some obscure South Korean ones that had a MUCH deeper move set than that game, and they were made in the 1990s.

Those Double Dragon characters models are uggggly. They look like the old NES Mega Man mode. They could've keep the dwarf design but at least draw them to look nice like the Fight -N- Rage characters

TMNT created a revolution in beat-em up genre
What is revolutionary about TMNT?. For me, this is the old capcom system nothing else. Have you played Skinny & Franko? try it. The mechanics of this game are quite different from other games in this genre. Lots of punches, grapples, interactions, etc.
TMNT is a great game but the revolution had already begun long before that

The Toxic Crusaders seems very heavily based on the film "The Toxic Avenger" by Troma, and the green character with a mop looks very much like Melvin (The Toxic Avenger). They even make a reference to Troma at 1:39 by naming some city as Tromaville, from Troma as well.
It's based on the cartoon that was based on the movie. The cartoon kept Tromaville and a lot of the themes from the movie, minus the sex and gore
That skinny game looks so bad but for $2 it's definitely priced right.

I love that beat em ups are making a comeback but the overly retro pixel graphics just don't do it for me. Those same games with a modern, cleaner look would be awesome.

All of this looks like no new ideas, nothing interesring on beat em ups.
I think the only ones that have been able to advance are the metroidvanias. Outside of that, all retro gaming styles have stagnated without new ideas
My god! I have been convincing myself that Toxic Crusaders had an actual beat them up arcade game since the cartoon conception in 1991 with the art stylings of a Capcom beat em up and it turned out that it was never true. Now look at it. Not only is one coming out but it looks exactly how I envisaged it. I need my head checked.

Guess no developer is going to replicate the look of Streets of Rage 4, the bar has been set too high in terms of quality.
I would say a lot of these have visuals I like more than SOR 4

@@doclouis4236 well if it just looks like a bunch of lego blocks then it's not good pixel art. SOR4 sprites' artstyle is too cartoony and their shading lack the depth of SOR2/3 pixel art sprites' shading. They made the characters look flat imo😐

skinny and franco looks garbage. as those old flash animated games from early 2000. Bad taste artwork. Terrible.

@Dnomyar Akunawik Low effort retro art is what some of these games look like. Not as good looing as some of the old SNK or Capcom games of the 90s.
