So glad you did this video as I wondered how you make your much talked about stew. I’m going to try this. I slow cooked one last week but the meat (braising steak) was a bit tough. Did it on the high setting maybe I should have used slow. I’ve just renewed my energy contract, shopped around but found them all pretty much of a muchness. Like you I’ve gone for a fixed rate. Will be paying nearly 28p per kWh., but it’s the standing charge which has risen enormously of course can’t do much about that. At least we have power & long may that continue. Going to get one of those devices like you use to monitor usage. Dreading using it with my hair dryer!!! Take care & happy cooking. Dianne 😀
Hi Dianne, that’s a lovely comment to read. We’ve never really had tough meat in the slow cooker but it does take a long time to cook about eight hours. Cooking it in the pressure cooker takes a fraction of the time and is still lovely.
At least if you do it like us you will know if you like it or not. We love it so I think you will be ok. With the energy it’s a bit of a lottery, no one knows what will happen but at least you now know what you’re paying. The standing charge is a right rip off your right. There is a link to our meter in the description, all I will say people have had problems with other types then bought one the same ours. I’m not saying there better but I believe some are a bit doggy 🤷♂️
Here is the link if you want to look. 😍🥰❤️😘👍 amzn.to/46M7z34
I totally agree with you about coating in flour and searing. I’ll never change the way I’ve always cooked my beef. My machine arrived today so I’m looking about for inspiration. Thankyou for sharing :-)
I picked up a sealing machine at the start of the year and absolutely love it. Hadn’t had one before but can’t imagine ever being without it now. Will definitely be using it with my batch cooking.
Hi Laura, we have cooked many meals over the years and this way is always lovely. 😍🥰❤️😘
Hi Laura, I fell in love with the pressure cooker, we use it for so many things and the vacuum sealer saves so much room in the freezer. It seems you also don’t get freezer burn. It’s a winner with me as well.😍🥰❤️😘
Hi Graham, I never considered you were moaning at all. After watching your video, it helped me to decide between a Ninja 15 in 1, or the Cosori. Now I’m after the power meter and the steamer baskets. Keep up the great work mate.
Thank you Fred, it did worry me. Everything sounds cold by text, unless it’s just me. 👏👏👏👏👌👍
The pressure cooker is so cheap to run, the first few times I thought my meter had broken 😂😂😂😂👍
Hi both - On my gosh that looks so lovely - and so nice on a wintry day - Wendy your a marvel x ❤ thanks both for vid
Hi Pauline, after the stew I thanked Wendy it was so nice, she well it was me that cooked it. 😂😂😂 really it was the pressure cooker 😂😂😂🥰😍❤️😘👍 thank you mi duck 😻😻
We bought the Cosori pressure cooker at the weekend and made this beef stew, following your video, and it turned out great. We’re going to try some other of your recipes.
Hi Fred, it’s perfect for stews and soups. Wendy’s beef stew is fantastic isn’t it. Check out our gammon in brown sugar in 30 minutes 👌. It’s a pity you didn’t get your cosori through our affiliate links in the description. It costs no extra but helps us a little bit. Never mind people don’t understand how it works and it can be baffling. Happy cooking 😋👏👏👏👏👌👍
I bought it from Amazon with our Xmas vouchers. I’m going to use your link to buy a couple of the vegetable containers to go inside it.
@@fred130556 hi Fred, I thought it sounded like I was moaning when I read it back. I wasn’t and I’m sorry if it sounded like I was. It’s hard to explain by message. The baskets make a massive difference. We used to lose potatoes through the trivet. 😂😂😂😂👍
There is nothing noce to come home to, on a winters day, than the smell of stew cooking, and the good hearty meal that you get from it. Do you remember years ago when it would take all day to cook, now just look at what we can do these days, and you and wendy nade a very inviting Stew. Phillip and i could just have sat down with you and ate it 🤚and you could also make another batch up to go pn stand by, snd freeze it in your vacuum bags, then boil it from frozen, when you need it, now that cant be bad.💯👍💕🤚💐
Hi Rosemary, you’re right the house used to smell fantastic when stew had been cooking for hours on a cold day.
We would happily share it with you and Phillip. Wells as long as he didn’t eat it all 😂😂😂😂. I was wondering if I should sous vide but a few minutes in the pressure cooker works fine. 🤔😍🥰❤️😘 hi Phillip 👋👋👋👋👍
Hi Graham thanks for this video it's reminded me to use my PKP more going to repeat your recipe for the weekend yum yum yum 😊
Hi Paul, we were like you mate. Forgetting to use our pressure cooker. The new Cosori has really gripped our attention. Hope your warm in the bath 😂😂👍
No Bloody Freezing 😳
@@paulmiles6050 it’s no joke is it mate, it cost us all a fortune just to keep warm.🤷♂️👍
Hello mate, that is exactly how i cook mine including the same veg, it's so fast and easy and saves a fortune on electricity rather than doing it for a couple of hours in the oven and it tastes better in the pressure cooker as it keeps all the flavour and juices in, great review mate, 👏👏👏👏👍🙏🍻
Hi Sean, well fancy that. Wendy is great believer in throwing in what you’ve got and the more the merrier. The pressure cooker keeps the liquid and the flavour all sealed up and in a very fast time. Hope your not working to hard mate 👍
That's my kind of stew. Looks absolutely delicious. Was the veg potatoes, peas. carrots and swede? Mind this video is from December so you may not remember.😂 I have searched for that Andrew James Sealer, can't find it anywhere. 😭 xx
Hi Faith, Wendy throws everything in 😂😂😂 I will have a look at the video. We’ve got a cake cooking at this moment 😂😂😂👍. They don’t make our sealer. A subscriber bought me this one and it’s been brilliant. There are plenty on the market but this is the only one I’ve used. So I’m not sure whip is the best. 🥰😍❤️😘
Hi Graham and Wendy, excellent video as usual, the pressure cooker is good for stews. I made one Saturday gone with some gammon, i made four meals, we eat two and i froze two for me, John's not a stew fan. It was done in no time. Your bags are very handy as you say they take up no space. Do you remember on the buses with the lion, i thought it was hilarious, i still laugh at it now
Hi Sandra, we’ve just watched the on the buses the lion on the bus is so funny. Blakey was a fantastic character.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 thank you Sandra ❤️🥰😘👍
We have the Instant Pot Duo + Air fryer/Pressure Cooker my wife Carol makes lots of different soups and puts it in tupperware style containers that take two portions and then bungs them in the freezer,we just bring out one container at night to defrost for the next day,she pressure cooks all her own beetroot as well as she's not a fan of pickled beetroot, another enjoyable video Graham
Hi Richard and Carol, it sounds to me like carol is very organised. The pressure cooked soups are so good aren’t they. I’ve not done beetroot for a long time, that again is so tasty but Wendy’s not keen. I’ve got to remember two names now I might suffer from an overload. 😂😂😂😂😂👌👍
I'm with Wendy, not really a beetroot fan,I do all the other cooking Graham,we have quite a small Kitchen so not ideal for two people to be moving about at the same time, that's Carol's excuse for letting me get on with it while she sits back and waits for the dinner gong 🤣
@@pikricky 😂😂😂Wendy would do everything if I let her. She can cook a dinner while I sit thinking about it. I bet Carol is dashing about doing something else. There’s always something to do 👍
hi graham , that stew looks veryvery tasty, the pressure cooker really makes the meat so tender without turning the vegies to mush. its a bonus to be able to cook it so cheaply as well Getting 8 meals for that price , great job , love to wendy . looking forward to your next vlog
Hi Grace, every time I use the pressure cooker I’m amazed the little amount of power it uses. The food and especially stews and soups are fantastic. Thank you Grace 😍❤️🥰😘👍
Hello Graham - I could probably eat Brussels every day. So many people think they don't like them because they tried them years ago when they tasted awful. All changed now!
Hi Phillip, I’ve always eaten them but you’re right lots of people won’t touch them. Just little cabbages aren’t they mate 😂😂😂😂👍
Very nice Graham, I have cooked a beef stew in it also, but have to freeze in containers as i don't have a vacuum sealer.
Hi John, containers are fine we’ve been using them for years. 👏👏👍
Just need to get a bigger freezer, already got an under counter one in the garage, need to get a full size one in there 😊
@@johnwelsh8737 we have a large freezer in the garage but I go mardy when I can’t find things and my fingers are numb 😂😂😂😂👍 especially when I forget to write on the bag 🤷♂️
You mardy? Never mate 😮
Hi Graham and Wendy, I’ve done stew and dumplings in mine it tasted very moorish , from Linda Clark ❤
Hi Linda, since we got this new pressure cooker we’ve gone stew and soup crazy. I think really it’s this cold dark wet weather. At least we’re all cosy inside mi duck 👏👏👏🥰❤️😘👍
Yes I’ve used mine as well making different casseroles etc. I’m thinking of getting the cosori rice cooker as well
@@user-rp9px1vb1n hi Linda, I like the rice cooker as well. It’s no wonder we’re putting weight on 😂😂😂😂😂.
If you do decide to get one we have a link in the description. It doesn’t cost you any more and we get a few bob.
Sorry if that sounds like the hard sell, it’s not it’s just many people don’t know about it. I have just bought a second basket for our pressure cooker to put the potatoes in 🥰😍❤️😘👍
Thank you , I’ll have to get my daughter to help me on that as not sure how to do it .
@@user-rp9px1vb1n hi Linda. this technology drives us crazy doesn’t it. God knows how Wendy and me set up the links 🤷♂️. 😍🥰❤️😘
Hi Graham and wendy that stew looked so so good just what you needed for a freezing cold day I got my self a vacuum sealer I think they are brilliant Graham have you thought of doing a stew with minced beef I think ifs do so nice ill have to make one this wèk for tea that stew house got left over you could put the stew in a pie dish and pop a pastry lid on ituoull have a hotpot love to you ❤and wendy love fran xxx
Hi Fran, I think you’re some sort of mind reader. We thought we would do a pie with a pastry lid. Wendy’s decided we’re now having a fish pie with a puff pastry lid. The sealer has uses that we never thought it would. Hope your keeping warm love Graham and Wendy xx
@@grahamgetsabout2672 hi Graham I must be a mind reader I'm going to sort my freezer out and take things out of boxes and into the sealer bags it's surprising how much they put in boxes with no plastic bag over the food.i do put things in the freezer in the bags they come in but half the time they are not stong bags I shown my son a pasty I'd put in a bag I used the sealer on love gran hope you and Wendy are keeping warm now font go out if it gets too icy love fran xxxx
@@francisraffle2948 hi Fran, your right about all the boxes in the freezer. I’m always worried I will lose the cooking instructions. 😂😂😂😂 I don’t know why when we don’t use them anyway. Naughty Graham. We are very snug here and hoped you were the same, paying the bill might wipe the smile off my face. 😂😂😂 love Graham and Wendy. Xx
@@grahamgetsabout2672 oh yes Graham yes I'm lovely snd warm I see it this way I pay my gas electric every month so I'm going to use my heating no sense being cold and get j wrap up warm when go out I've got boots but thrg are no use for this freezing void weather so tomorrow im goingto bug dome boots to keep mylittle toes warm my sister gave me a hat and scarf she said the hat looked stupid onher it looks twice as stupid on me it's a knitted beanie hat mkw dtsy in the warm can't waitto see what delight your going to make next love to youboth love fran xxx
@@francisraffle2948 hi Fran, looking stupid is my trade make outfit. I bet I can look more stupid than you ever could 😂😂😂😂👌
Like to know how you recook the stew....
Hi, I pressure cooked for five minutes on the second day and it was really hot.👍
Hi what flavour stock did you use plz also how long would it take to cook in the cosori pressure cooker on the stew selection function
Hi joy, I used two cheap beef stock cubes from Lidl. As for the pre set stew function, it is 30 minutes but you can set it for as long as you like so I just go straight to pressure cook. ❤️👍
OK thank you when my gran cooked beef stew in a big saucepan it was called the 20 minute gallop 😄
@@user-dp3oe9ed8h hi joy, that’s a great name. I didn’t have horse in it did it 🤔😂😂😂😂❤️👍
