The Jazz is my project car and I've upgraded to Swift lowering springs with UR front bars and rear anti roll bar, upgraded to Akebono brake pads with Michelin PS3s. The engine and CVT are completely stock and untouched. With these minimal handling mods the Jazz is a cornering monster on the hill climb. The outstanding thing about Jazz in stock form is it's lightness, and is even more noticeable during hill climb. The car is so light and nimble that so many corners are now no longer relevant. I use the brakes more for positioning purposes rather than actual braking, especially the uphill climb last few downhill turns. Many cars back off there while I can continue accelerating. The only thing is the rear dampers are slightly soft and the sag can be felt when exiting sharper U corners. Just need a bucket seat to hold myself in place.

Since you had driven the MyVi 1.5 and now the Jazz, which gives a better drive and handling? Please omit your comment on the paddle shift in the Jazz. 😂. Your expert opinion on power delivery, CVT and Standard auto gearbox and car handling. Thank you. 😁
In terms of handling the two are very close, but I think the Jazz would have the edge here. It has more suspension travel, bigger tyres, and is wider. The Myvi is lighter so makes up for the lower power with being more nippy and more chuckable. Jazz wins on comfort and overall ride. The choice is very simple: if you can afford it, go get the Jazz. If you cannot, settle for the Myvi.
@@YSKhongDriving The response from the paddle shifters are quite slow right? Because I see you pressing them and the 'gear' didn't change many times. How about NVH though? 🤔 After seeing your Myvi and Jazz videos back to back it seems like the NVH of Myvi is better.
Not bad, it can't compare with Myvi. Better with Iriz. This road sharpen Uncle Khong Driving skill a lot. Next year Uncle Khong can blind fold to drive on this road already. 😅
You're welcome, Uncle Khong. Ya.. Driving is one of the enjoyment, it can release stress. I like to drive long distance road. Sometimes I drove fast too. Beside of enjoyment, safety is important. So... Drive safe.
Interesting that you brought up the seats... I read about this on a affiliated Honda dealer forum years ago where people criticized the previous gen Fit/Jazz for wide unsupportive seats, and someone provided valid feedback. Honda tries to cater for all types and shapes of people, but Honda by sales volume is much more prominent in the UK, Germany and North America (CA /USA) where the average male us at least 5 feet 9 inches and more that 6ft more often than not. The female average was also 5 foot 7 inches and above. It is not justifiable financially and logistically for Honda to make one seat type per model and /or region, so they try to strike a balance, which means vehicle seats and controls are a bit larger than what would be perfect for the average Asian (Japanese people specifically who have a smaller frame, as there is also a misconception that Chinese people are smaller, but one has to consider nutrition, income, geographic location, etc especially considering the size of China and the global Chinese population in general. From a western perspective they generalise Asians as Chinese, Japanese or Koreans, hence the rationale). So the long and short of it is Asian cars are actually made for the west more than the east. Hyundai / Kia are a perfect example of this, from reliable but emotionally unappealing cars from the early 90s to basically the Asian equivalent of a European car. If you didn't know the design language and brand it could easily pass off as a European manufacturer. Even the ride quality is European firm, and not oh so comfy Toyota / Lexus pillowy.
Good comment: Some people judge car makers from their personal and individual perspective, but I believe in looking at a car from different angles. We must always try to understand it from a manufacturer's point of view, at the same time knowing that the car was not made for one person alone, me, hahaha.
I love your driving videos. I guess almost all new cars handle good. i never heard you call a cars handling bad. do you remember any car you driven that handled bad ? why its bad

Having experienced the local fiesta vs the global spec its pretty much the same story as the VW Polo, to make it affordable, they have stripped out the premium materials and sound deadening from the interior as well as some safety kit. Hi Fuad, I think the effect is audible as well as physical in the Jazz. You will hear the suspension noise as louder because the body construction does not have the sound insulation provided by the boot area in the City. For cars in this weight category, ( around 1000 to 1200 kg, the suspension has to cater for up to a 500 kg increase under full load, therefore the springs have to be of a certain stiffness to start with, otherwise the car will sag down quite a bit under load, and body roll will also be too much. In contrast, for heavier cars the weight change ratio between empty and full load is lower, therefore the cars are relatively more comfortable.

Uncle what brand new car u suggest below rm100k???
In this ballpark you are looking at the B segment. The choices are City, Vios, Mazda 2, Vento, and Cerato are having an offer right now.
Different buyers will have different priorities. Choose the one that best suits your needs.
Did you notice a lot of vibrations going into the cabin at high speeds?
Not particularly. This is a B- segment vehicle
9:45 dejavu~😂
Jazz dan iriz mana lagi sedap?
Jazz sedap tapi lebih mahal
saye pakai jazz.. ibu saye pakai iriz.. iriz handling superb.. time coner mmg sedap.. jazz agak kurang yakin time amik coner.. tapi engine/ performence jazz lah lagi baik
uncle, any chance to do yaris driving review?, i really enjoy this video and would like to know your comment on yaris and comparison with jazz :D
We do have a Yaris drive video
@@YSKhongDriving only found sneakpeak, launch and side parking video ... gonna scroll back your video. thanks btw!
pls try top speed?
mega slamber top speed 190
Uncle. Pls take the Bezza up the mountain. Shud be interesting to compare the A segment 'people's car'.
It's in the plan.
Yes, pls do for bezza...becoz so many owners want to know how bezza taking sharp corner like this genting run.
Uncle Khong, how tall r u? Just wanna compare your height with the seat's height .thanks.
164 cm
Uncle which is better jazz or mazda2?
It's a choice between cvt and a 6 speed transmission. Take your pick.
@@YSKhongDriving thanks uncle!
Hi Uncle Khong, great video! would appreciate it if you could do a genting climb with the Vento TSI 1.2. Thanks!
I asked, but they do not have a car available.
YS Khong Driving bummer! Would like to see how the lower range TSI engines fare against the curvy roads of genting. Definitely would be keen to see a review on a walk around at least 👍😁
Comparing to the proton Iriz?
The Jazz costs more than the Iriz.
@@YSKhongDriving wheelbase of Honda jazz is 2530mm proton Iriz is 2555mm not just about money right
So uncle for stabilizing car with one is more stable while driving ?
?
YS Khong Driving jazz vs city with one is better ? 😅
No need for a Nissan Skyline... just get this...
Uncle, try to hv some fun with 2013 above suzuki swift 1.4... U will love it.
I do like the Swift. I wrote a glowing report a few years ago. Two of my good friends owned the Swift Sport - now, that's a car!
Awesome... Try to make a genting hillclimb video with it. Can't wait to see ur smelling face 😄😄
By the way, hopefully Tan Sri Vincent Tan can successfully bring Suzuki back to Malaysia.
Hmmm? Is he bringing Suzuki back? It's a bit unfortunate that the brand is floundering.
Can you do a how to drive paddle shifters in CVT cars
Nothing to show.
Can i have your opinion ? A vezel 1.5 or a fit 1.5 rs ?
If you only need 5 seats, the Fit would be a better performer in terms of power to weight ratio and overall handling. If you must have the 7 seats, then the choice is obvious.
Thank you. I am deciding between the jazz 1.5 rs and the vezel 1.5. But both is 5 seater ?
Uncle khong, can do review of kia picanto??
Trying to arrange a car.
How is the jazz compares to the myvi? Is there much of a difference between them in term of performance ?
Jazz is one step up on the Myvi.
Malaysia still using the same engine as previous jazz isn't?
Yes.
so planted car .
Uncle Khong, if got chance i wanna sit next to you on a genting tour and can help u with the shooting cause I am videographer + car enthusiast...hehe
Hi Shawn, you are most welcome to come along. Hmmm, might be a good idea to invite one subscriber to come along for each rest drive.
