  • The Suncoast Center for Fine Scale Modeling is a great example of next level thinking. In 2008, a small group of Florida scale model railroading enthusiasts decided to take their hobby to a new level of excellence. They created an extraordinary display of fine scale modeling they called the Sundance Central Railroad. It was made up of forty modular units that contain four hundred feet of track covering an area of forty-five square feet. Each unit demonstrates the highest level of fine scale museum-quality modeling. The Sundance traveled the country but now has a permanent home in Odessa, Florida in the Tampa Bay area along with three other scale model railroad displays and a dozen historic scale model military dioramas. They are on public display only nine days out of the year. They center opens to the public on the third Saturday of the month from September through May. The center is located at 2645 Success Drive in Odessa, Florida. For more information visit the Suncoast Center’s web page at www.finescalemodeling.org. They also have a Facebook page and a RUclips Channel.
