I have watched 1000s of model train layouts, and this is by far the best one I've ever seen. The realilizem is Disney-esk. I'm not sure Disney could top this. I believe the nudity is a little over the top, especially for a model train layout, but there isn't a close second to what's been done on this. They knocked it out of the park
By far, this is the most realistic model railway I have ever come across. Apart from rail engines & wagons, the minute details are incredible. A welder, a barber, a painter painting a nude portrait, bulls pulling wooden carts loaded with logs, everything looks so real & familiar.
This isn't just a model train; this is a time machine. Took me back to my childhood in the 40's. Obviously, this is a true American treasure and should probably windup in the Smithsonian Museum at some point to be taken care of forever and ever.
Boy, I'll tell you what. If my Daddy was still alive, he'd be happier than a pig in mud to see this in person. The amount of detail is incredible. He was WAY into Model trains for years and would hand carve his own mountians and paint them the right color, add each tree and make sure they were just right. He did N scale which is much smaller than this. He'd be right there with you guys running those train, comig up wth Train schedules and a Duty roster for the day for each locamotive.
I believe this is the finest modeling I have ever seen. The overall detail, attention to proportion, weathering, and scenery techniques are astonishing.
I agree. This has got to be world class. It's clear that every inch has been carefully considered and modelled. Nothing here looks half-assed and done the easy way. On top of that, 1/20.3 is hardly a common scale so I'm sure the majority of everything must have been scratch built too. Would be amazing to see in person!
only thing I noticed missing were the chains shouldn't be dangling on the cars loaded with the logs. they should be strapped up over the logs to hold them on. Otherwise, awesome.
@@zarroth I'm sure the lumber-yard staff will be reprimanded before the next shift ;-) Apart from the dangerous health and safety lapses a splendid layout!
My father was a model railroader, HO scale. His model realism was very close to this layout. This video shows a very professional layout. Very impressive! I just want to shrink myself and jump right into the layout and play!. My dad would have loved it! Thanks guys!
Anyone could watch this video 200 times and not see it all. Incredible It's by far the most detailed layout I've ever seen. The weathering is absolutely stunning. The only correct way to watch this is to stop and start and view it frame by frame
I am almost speechless!!!!!! What can be done with LGB size models is just stunning. An hour or two's work there for sure. To the three thousand people it took to construct this masterpiece; very well done.
Could watch this for hours and think bout ancient times. People were physical working hard, but lived in a chilled spirit. Not that fast running strained stress like today. They had time, and they used it thoughtfully. They had a view for the real important things. Not perfect everything, but reflecting grounded life. And that's what this model railroad system conveys. Love it so much... (But guys: You reconstructed that naturalness perfectly! No doubt about!)
The engines and rolling stock are impressive but the mechanical animation is exquisite in scale appearance and realism of movement. The realism of buildings and people figures beyond amazing. Keeping this all working must require as much skill as the original building and "tweaking" to get it working as desired. Congratulations to all involved.
I saw this in person, and this video does not begin to show the quality, reality, high detailing, and exquisite modeling that these guys put together. This is my favorite RR I have ever seen in my 50 plus years of model RR
Wow, I am insanely impressed by the detail on this layout, and everything, the bushes, the grass, the trees, the trains and the railroad, even the house's and people is all made by people! The amount of effort this took is incredible, I'm very impressed.
This one of the very best model railroad that I seen in video. You guys should be very proud of your accomplishment. Your railroad is beautiful. Where is this railroad? Can it be toured?
A place out of time, stuck between generations, far enough from the hustle and bustle of city life that the progress of technology has yet to reach. The citizens of this sleepy town live with what they have, and when something breaks, you build the replacement yourself rather than just order from a catalogue. Truly a lost chapter of America's history, perfectly preserved on this amazing layout.
This is fantastic, such a beautiful and detailed layout. I could stare at this all day. I've always loved trains and model trains since I was a kid. Probably because my grandfather is a train dealer. Every summer they would take me and my brothers to the real and model train museums in Lancaster, PA.
Thank You Guys for the salute to good old West Side Lumber Co . Through the 50's and part of the 60's. My family worked for West Side . Grate to see the equipment on anyone's layout .
EXCELLENT layout and detail!!!!! I could watch this for hours and still find new things that I missed before!!! I can only imagine how many man hours were put into this fine display!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
this is impressive for several reasons. 1-the amount of detail in the scenery with buildings and people is really good. 2-the trains are a pretty large scale, so just having a place to put this is great! 3-the camera work panning and following the train and transitioning to the scenery was skillfully done. The music is ok but it may have been better to have a narrative explaining things. I liked it.
Modeling of this nature is epic. The sights, sounds just adding to the desired outcome. True artistry at its most finest. I took away one very significant thing: Railroading in America is the best period. Great job🎥🚂🚂
I did this for a living a while back. Build dioramas that is. I loved every minute of it. I must say this is excellent work. As someone who knows a thing or two about it I'd say a lot of time and money was invested into this. Something to be proud of and a job well done.
Greetings to all the "Need4Life" team. Really amazing and very nice to see, as the title "The Best and Most Detailed Large - Scale Model Railroad layout in the World" says, I personally think the same and I totally agree. Millions of thanks for sharing this wonder with us and inspiring us when making our layouts to make an effort in all details. This Layout make us dream. Thanks thousands. Best Regards
The simulated cloud-to-cloud lighting (upper left portion of the screen) at 1:05 is a nice and quite unique addition. The detail is beyond my vocabulary!
I love old railroads, steam, you do not see this kind of detail, dead branches in trees, bent rusty hand brakes, if you have the $ and time to enjoy your love of nostalgic innovation by man,and perfer country, mountanus life, everybody has their loves, and I agree with the thought of jealousy of others who can't do the same or are angry little snipes. These model railroaders should get medals. Could go on & on With praises, just wish I could see this. I am 69 and love it. 9-6-19
Very realistic. The weathering, rust, paint etc. I've never seen anything like it. Exemplary is an understatement. Others I've seen look like just ordinary toys with clean paintings...this is highly detailed.
Incredible. You don't need to know much about model railways to appreciate this masterpiece. My only remark is the humans could have less saturated colors to better blend in with the realistic environment.
The speed of the train really compliments the scale of the scenery. Thanks. Check out the paintings on the backdrops. At one point the clouds above are represented casting a shadow against the back wall painting.
Magnificent! This is one you can watch again and again and see something new every time. Makes me want to shrink down and step right in! Reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode where the man went to the museum and seen the pretty woman living in the doll house. His family all thought he was crazy. He left his house in the middle of the night to sneak into the museum and shrink down to be with the woman in the doll house. That's exactly what I'd want to do here. Go back to a time like this. Ride the rails, slow down and enjoy.
This truly is the most attention to detail model I've ever seen. Unbelievable eye for detail and the amount of time taken to do this is nothing short of a passion for the art! Whoever was involved with this be very proud of the great work you did. Only wish I could see it in person.
This is a really cool layout. It even has “cast iron” wheels in the wheel garden.lots of attention to detail. Weeds growing between the tracks and a bordello.
This has to be the most realistic model railroad I have seen. Most are pristine and show no signs of wear and weather. These are dirty and sweaty and look authentic. Even the grounds have litter and discarded items adding to the realistic nature.
Just slightly larger than "G" scale. Stunning effort and result. A masterpiece of art! The amount of time and work that went into this boggles the mind. Hats off... I am very happy you shared this with us. Thank you!
The track gauge for Fn3 is the same as G scale (45 millimeters). Although the actual models are slightly larger, they are close enough that they can be run together with G scale (1:22.5) equipment and look fine. Bachmann's Spectrum large scale items are actually Fn3, while their standard line "Big Haulers" items are G.
I have looked at this a number of times and am mesmerized by the details, old man rocking on the rocker, dog waggling it's tail man welding and sooo much more, truly unfathomable, everything looks and sounds so real, cuckoo clock builders could learn from these people!
What an amazing slice of American Pie. Truly spectacular & engrossing. Most layouts have plenty going on on the tracks but sadly they are forced to operate within a static 'snaoshot' diorama .... but this layout is different because it portrays 19th century American life going on together with action on the tracks. The Railroad is undoubtedly the star of The Show but here it shares the stage with a large supporting cast. Truly engrossing. Modelling to this scale opens up so many more possibilities. I'd love to see a British layout after this fashion.
The best, Blue Ribbon! I love the early 1900 setting. Even the clouds are wonderful. I will judge all other railroads by this. Thank you for incredible detail and dedication.
This layout is at such an exceptional level of realism and outstanding detail, that no amount of words could possibly do it justice. Magnificent!
I couldn’t have said that any better. It really is an exceptional railroad/railway project. Regards from Northern Ireland. ☘️
Speechless!

I’ve probably seen thousands of layouts in person, pictures or videos. This might be the most exhaustively detailed layout I’ve ever seen. Just wow.
This isn't just a model train; this is a time machine. Took me back to my childhood in the 40's. Obviously, this is a true American treasure and should probably windup in the Smithsonian Museum at some point to be taken care of forever and ever.

True
@@zarroth It looks a lot more beautiful when the steel chains are dangling loosely, rather than tightly installed.
@@zarroth I'm sure the lumber-yard staff will be reprimanded before the next shift ;-) Apart from the dangerous health and safety lapses a splendid layout!

10 Min. 13 Sec. of PURE MAGIC !!! . . . My heartfelt appreciation to all who built this absolute work of art. . . Sublime. . .
This layout is pure magic indeed.

Hi from England. I thought my layout was good, but this is the best I've ever seen, I'm 75 and I seen some. FANTASTIC. thank you.
You're very welcome!
I've been in the hobby for almost 60 years and this has got to be one one the best in the country. Well done!!!!!!!!!!

@Lactrix That was just my weird Australian sense of humour. Sorry you didn't get it. Very nice job all the same.

Amazing scale railroad, love it, best ever!
Nothing like this anywhere else! as good as it gets
Nothing but PURE ART! Absolutely mind blowing… could watch for hours …. 👁️👁️
Like a trip through time….fantastic.
This is the most incredible model I've ever seen!!! Even out in a visible welding arc! Incredible!!
Absolutely A Railroaders Dream Layout , Makes You Want To Go Back In Time. An Era Sadly Gone By .

I agree , this is the finast detailed model railroad I've ever seen!
Amazing. Its so lifelike it feels like stepping back in time.
Now THIS is how it's done! Period. That rolling stock is phenomenal.
Wow! Just wow!
All I can say is WOW....Best detailed and realistic setup I have ever seen......What a treat...
RUclips shouldn't even show the option for thumbs down for this masterpiece.
Totally agree.
Masters piece of a display. I'd love to see this in VR.
